Greetings. This is in response to poster "Brenda Alaniz". Frequently people call the ER asking for "advice" about their own or a loved ones condition. The person in the ER answering the call is typically a secretary and does not have a lot of "medical education". Would you really like the secretary to give you medical advice about your sons condition? The doctor is often quite busy seeing the patients who are actually in the ER and does not have the time to answer different people asking for advice. The exact same thing applies to the nurses. In other words, most emergency departments do not provide a qualified medical professional whose primary task is to give phone advice to patients and their relatives. Please remember that in order to give good useful advice, some times the doctor/nurse has to take a medical history, find out what treatments, etc, have already been tried. It is usually not a "two second" phone call. Can the doctor or nurse in your emergency room spare 10 minutes to talk to some random patient over the phone while there is a man with a broken leg waiting to be seen? Of course if someone was just in the ER two hours ago and has a question about their medication, treatment, etc, the charge nurse or the physician will speak with that person. However the physicians/nurses simply do not have the time to provide medical advice to random patients over the phone. So what should you do when you would like to speak with someone over the phone about a health problem? Firstly, you should call your primary providers office (or if you had recent surgery, you should call your surgeons office). Even after regular hours, they should be able to connect you to the on call doctor who should be able to answer your question and guide you appropriately. Lets say though that you have no doctor or that your doctors office is simply not answering. Then you will need to use your own judgement whether to come to the ER or wait to see an office doctor during regular hours. If you are not sure and you think it may be an emergency, the best thing is to get it checked out. I hope this comment was of benefit to some people.

I give this place a negative 10. These bastards just almost killed me. I have very very serious stomach problems and went there just to have the doctor(and I use that term loosely, because he was a joke) Tried to do 3 separate things that my DR back home specifically said never to do. I will be filing a report and turning that doctor in before he kills someone !!! VERY SCARY DO NOT GO THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH... THEY WILL KILL YOU !!!!!!! I read more reviews and got the same answers. These people are clueless when there is a serious problem. I will be reporting this jackass before he kills someone. If you go to a hospital with bowel blockage and some dumbass wants to give you an enema.. RUN AND RUN FAST.... THAT WILL BLOW YOUR COLON SO FAST AND YOU WILL BE DEAD IN 3 MINUTES... STAY AWAY FROM HERE !! I WILL PUT A NEGATIVE REVIEW ON ALL SITES TO KEEP PEOPLE AWAY !!!

I saw all the reviews and was scared to death to come here . First off this is my second time here . First was in 2013 that time was awful . The wait was long the doctor was the worst . This time it was great all the way around . Other then it was me who was sick . They checked me in and I was heading to the back in less them 10 min . The nurses were great with getting me blankets and water and checking on me . The doctor came and saw me then sent me out for a ultra sound . I was seen there within a few min of seeing the dr . They staff there was great . So far everyone here this time has been so nice . They found out it was gallbladder and have given me stuff to help with it . Really great job this time . Also the place was clean . I am happy with my care and the overall treatment here today .

I went to Delano Regional Medical Center on April 24 to have a 10 minute procedure done and I was there 8 hours. When I arrived at 8am and checked it. There was no bed for me to lay in. I had to sit in a chair until after 2pm when they called me for the procedure. It was a terrible experience. Nurse were great. They way they do things is like an assembly line. You are a number not called by name. I did not see my doctor or talk to him at all. I was not told what was going to happen or how long it would take. I hope they change there way because this is not a way to treat patients. I would not recommend them.

When I was in labor I asked for my epidural. I asked for it maybe an hour or so before I was ready to give birth to my daughter, they "forgot" about it and then the lady blamed another person for her forgetting. Then during my stay for two days the nurses were all rude and loud outside my door. Plus after I was discharged a lady from another city called me and told me that they lost my daughters newborn screening... Then as I was going back up there to get it done again. No one knew where to send me to get it done. This hospital is a joke!

We loved it! We went to the DRMC because of my daughters condition. Staffs were so friendly and nice they were truly caring for us. Our daughters surgery went well and she got lots of love from nurses and doctors. I would also definitely consider this hospital to deliver my baby in the future :)

I went in for outpatient surgery yesterday, I have a heart condition shd was very concerned about having surgery which was on my foot. They address all my worries and put me at ease. My nurse Jason was a gem, I cant say one bad thing about my experience.

I called for medical info for my 4year old daughter n they couldnt help me cuz they cant do it by phone or i have to call her primary Dr !! How am i gonna do that whn its closed?? Thanks for no help !!!

I felt like I had a group of sweet grandmothers and aunts taking care of me, instead of just nurses. Ive never experienced such attentive and personable care. It was shocking.
