After my dog was hit by a car by an inconsiderate driver who took off, I called around and the County Animal Control told me that I can take my dog to an emergency clinic in Diamond Bar which was not too far away. I took my dog here as they were the only facility open on a Friday night. The East Valley ER was busy and crowded! But the staff were friendly, receptive and took our dog into their exam room ASAP on a gurney. They quickly assessed the injuries and the vet came out 3 times to let us know the status that night. Each time a procedure, drug, or service was to be performed, a staff member would come out and give us a written estimate on the costs. A fractured pelvis was found in the X Rays and they were not orthopedic vet specialists. The vet made sure my dog had enough pain management medication for the ride to Tustin. They were nice enough to even make an appointment for a specialty surgery place in Tustin the next day on a Saturday (see my other reviews for Veterinary Surgical Specialists). So my dog had to spend an overnight with IV fluids, pain injections and sedation. They know exactly what they are doing - they do only what is necessary to stabilize and buy time for your pet until you can get to further care. The staff were so professional that they included my dogs blood lab work, X Rays on CD, and directions to the surgical facility. My dog when he came out of the ER that next day in the afternoon had a cute green flexible cast with 2 IV tubes neatly wrapped so that the surgical team in Tustin would not have stab the veins and humanely re-use the IV lines for the surgeons. A very positive experience by these great vet doctors and staff! Did you know that the vet works around the clock ? While the staff changes shifts - different people were there when we picked up our dog, I notice our vet worked from Friday afternoon till past Saturday afternoon - she was on the clock for over 18 hours which made me realize that she work really hard and truly cares about your pet! Remember, this is an emergency care clinic and you will pay for that service when other vets are closed so dont let your emotions get involved - be realistic including options such as giving up your pet if you cant afford the services or else euthanasia..... Folks - do not say bad things about this place because your pet was too old, too far gone, or had to be put down. They do what they do best - emergency triage in a field situation. Like in a human war conflict, they are very similar to the old TV series: MASH 4077th - they save lives and buy time so that their patients can be transported to a real hospital for care, surgery, and rehabilitation! They did the right thing for what they do - assess, analyze, offer options, treat, and stabilize your pet until they can see your regular vet the next business day. They are open in the evenings and into the next mornings on the weekdays. On weekends and holidays they are open 24 hours. If something like this happens again, I would return!

Last weekend my baby boy got sick and we made the extremely tough decision to put him down. He was 10 years old and had lost his sense of direction & depth perception, his ability to recognize anyone, and could barely stand on his own. This was especially hard because just days earlier he was still acting like a 6 month old puppy - all the energy and happiness in the world! We searched local veterinary offices, and came across East Valley. They had great reviews and were very sweet over the phone, so we decided this is where we would take him. Not only were they extremely helpful, but they were sympathetic, as well. They didnt turn into robots and shut off all emotion - they made me feel like my Misfit mattered to them, and he wasnt just another dog in for euthanasia. When we were asked to leave the room so they could insert the catheter, I came back in to one of the vet techs cuddling with and comforting my boy. The veterinarian offered us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. After he had passed, they didnt pressure us to leave. They allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted in the room with Misfit. They really made our extremely hard day a little less stressful. I am extremely grateful for this. I made the decision to have Misfit cremated. East Valley was not only inexpensive compared to most other places in the area, but they went above and beyond! I picked up my babys ashes yesterday. They were presented to me in a gorgeous wooden box. The box even had a gold plaque with Misfits name engraved on it. They also provided me with a clay imprint of Misfits paw and a stand to display it. The amount of appreciation that I have for East Valley is unreal. They definitely go above and beyond. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Thank you, to all the girls working when I brought Misfit in last Saturday. You are all angels.

I had 2 different experiences. One recent as of Feb. 2010. My mini schnauzer was bitten by a bee and within 20 min. her behavior turned odd and tongue turned purple. I new this wasnt good and ran into this hospital yelling bee sting. My dog barely hanging onto life. Immediatly everyone went into emergency mode and was very professional. Yes, my dog was in an anaphylaxis shock and barely breathing. The doctor told me exactly what was happening and what had to be done to save this dogs life. The dog stayed overnight and I went home knowing that my dog was in great care. I called throughout the night and was able to speak with the nurses there on what they were observing. I was very comforted knowing that if anything could be done it was with these people who were trained and could help. 2 years ago, I also brought in my other schnauzer who bit into a battery burning off part of her tongue and vomiting excessively. Yes, they saved my dog. The next day I took it to my VET in Walnut (Animal Hospital of Walnut), where my Vet provided top care and love for her following the emergency. Animals need to be picked up and transfered to your regular vet the following day. My dogs tongue healed and she was able to eat with no problem. This was due to fantastic response by the team in Diamond Bar and also my VET. I wouldve never known about this hospital unless my VET in Walnut didnt bring it to my attention upon my initial puppy exam. The doctors gave me information about this hospital on both dogs as puppies and periodically throughout the year after exams. I m appreciative and today I have my 2 schnauzers in great health. By the way, the price was fair and reasonable. The staff gives you a high and low end estimate. I walked out of there on a low end and with my dogs both living and well. THANK YOU!!!

OWNERS BEWARE!!! I made a Yelp account just to review this place. If you love and care for your furry children please do not step foot in this place! I have worked in different animal hospitals for the past 7 years and never have I seen or been treated with such carelessness and disrespect. Also working for a animal rescue group, we have referred countless people to this place.. Never again!! We took our puppy in for a laceration on her foot. She had to stay for surgery.. As we left they told us we were free to go and to call back in 3 hours to see if we can pick her up that night or the next day. And hour later, they call and said we left without paying them. I told them they didnt ask us to and they said we had to pay over the phone and couldnt wait until pick up. I asked if we could pick her up tonight and they said no we had to pick up in the morning and didnt state a time. At 7:35 am they called and asked when we are picking up because they close at 8am! And told us we were supposed to pick up last night! When we got there we waiting 30 min to pick up our baby and told the receptionist what had happened.. She couldnt have cared any less. Was not apologetic at all and looked like she would have rather stared at a wall then listen to our concerns! She was so rude! She didnt care that Maui stayed there a whole night when she didnt have to, she didnt care that it was their fault that this while situation happened.. She didnt even seem to care about her job. If anyone had done that in any of the hospitals I had worked at they would have been fired! Her name was VANESSA. Long review, but I wanted everyone to be aware of this place and please do not take your beloved babies here!!
