Dr. Buddy gave our cat a injection of an antibiotic that caused him to have a stroke. When we brought him in after the stroke she diagnosed it as complete origin failure, and offered to put him to sleep. Because she told us she didnt have time to talk to us about it, and that he could suffer for hours until she had time or we could just authorize them to kill him, we left. That was in January its August, our cat is still with us. The injection of antibiotics should never have been given to an elderly cat, it can cause a stroke or death. She also recommended costly surgeries and treatments, like a kidney transplant. Our cat is nearly 20 years old. In the 6 months we went to her, we spent thousands of dollars and besides suggesting subcutaneous liquids (giving him water under the skin daily) her recommendations only hurt our cat. She lowered his thyroid medication and when he was retested it was dangerously high and his kidneys had gotten very bad during the adjustment of medication. After seeing her, our cat now has severe kidney disease and is paralyzed on one side. Do not risk your animals life. And spend more money than you need to, her bills were always padded with extra charges. Her very scattered personality will just confuse you and though she seems to care, when you really need her, she will not be there for you. We paid the price, at least we can do is share with you the issues we had so it will not happen to others.

I came to Alta Vista after a terrible experience with Castro Valley Animal Hospital. What a difference in the way I was treated at Alta Vista such a friendly & caring staff. Jen one of the vet techs spent a lot of time with me explaing what may be wrong with my cat. Then Dr Budde came into the room & also spent a lot of time with me. Usually vets spend maybe 10 minutes but dont really explain much about what they think may be the problem with your pet. I wasnt push to do unessary tests & they had test results faxed over from Castro Valley Animal Hospital which by the way was a big hassle but they didnt give up so I didnt have to have the tests redone. Alta Vista will be my vet as long as I have pets.

I had an afternoon apointment at 4:45 to get a shot for my cat. I arrived at 4:40. It was our first time there so we had to fill out paperwork. I filled it out and returned it and waited. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes before I finally went to the desk. There were plently of technicians standing around and I asked them if there were always this behind and informed them that we had been waiting for 45 minutes. They didnt apologize and just told us we were next. We decided not to wait and found another vet. Very unprofessional. I would have expected to be informed when we arrived that they were running behind.

We love Dr. Budde! What other vet would get down on the floor to examine my aging dog (RIP Mala) so I wouldnt have to put her up on the slippery table? And now she does it with my 4 year old pit bull mix, (Bella) so I dont have to lift her with my bad back. Actually, all of the staff get down on the floor at my dogs level to make her feel comfortable. She loves all of the staff and so do I. The front desk personnel answer the phone quickly, have your bill ready quickly, and answer every question. Alta Vista Veterinary Clinic is wonderful! I wouldnt trust any other Vet with my fur-baby.

We came to Alta Vista after many years at another clinic, where the prices kept going up, up, up and the staff (including the doctors) constantly changed. Wanted to try something closer to our home and this was it. Dr. Buddie is so enthusiastic about every animal she sees. So far we have only gone for wellness visits and vaccinations, but I know she will help us through the hard times too because she is a very caring person. The staff here is great also....always a smile, but very professional too.

Great 1st visit, the staff was professional, prompt and extremely helpful. Dr. Budde spent quite a bit of time reviewing the dogs history and current status. She made a few immediate recommendations regarding weight, exercise and joint issues. All excellent advice! After having made these changes in less than 2 weeks I have seen remarkable improvement. Im so grateful for Dr. Budde and her staff. Everyone there is first and foremost , caring and loving to my cherished pet. I drive all the way from Berkeley, because of the excellent care that she provides to my dog. I would highly recommend that you carve out some time for your visit, even when its scheduled, because there is often medical emergencies that take priority and quite frankly, if it were my pet that needed emergency care, Id hope that I would be treated with the urgency it required.

I started taking my dog, Tyson, here when I first got him as a puppy 12 years ago. Back then I was new to having a pet and taking him to the vet and was so-so about my experience back then. I took him around to other vets over the years, but more recently took him back to Alta Vista to get his ear infection taken care of. Man has it changed over there. The whole crew is very lively and inviting. They were able to make my experience back there an awesome one and Ill never go to any other vet.

Alta Vista is the best! Dr Budde and staff have taken care of our "family" for over 12 years and I cant imagine going anywhere else. We also use them for grooming and kenneling. We love that theyre a one stop shop. It feels like an episode of Cheers when we talk in because we hear TAZ, MILEY. Its always so welcoming. You cant lose if Dr Budde is your Vet. I mean cmon......Dr Budde....its all in the name. Theyre our buddy for sure!

Very impressed with the staff here. Friendly and they all seem to know what they are talking about. ( I have had bad experiences with incompetent staff and it is a nightmare) Best of all Dr. Budde for as long as she has been in practise, has not seemed to have lost an ounce of enthusiasm. Was only here for a routine visit but definitely will be coming back- only the best for my doggie child!

They are the most sweetest people we have met.. I found an abanded puppy and rescued him. Took him to them to fix and get shots and more. They took such good care of me and Rico.. Dr. Budde and staff are the best. My fur babies love her. If you currently looking for a vet in the Bay Area why not give them a call. I had thought VIP for injections was cheaper, after calling to check on current boarding costs I realized that Dr Budde was cheaper and the boarding is very low cost as well. THANK YOU DR BUDDE....
