When my dog Ebony had to be put down, my family was devastated. Unbeknownst to us, Ebony was suffering from congestive heart failure for a long time, and had suddenly taken a turn for the worse the day we took her in to Happy Tails. Right off the bat the vet let us know the prognosis, and it was not good. I had school and work that day, as did my sister, and my father and mother both had to go to work themselves, but we all wanted to be present when making the decision of what to do as far as treating Ebony, so for the entire day, the wonderful and loving staff of Happy Tails kept Ebony happy and comfortable until we could all see her and make some decisions. The whole family was broken hearted to know that Ebony was in pain. She had had fluid in her lungs that just that morning had begun to cause her a great deal of trouble breathing, yet when we arrived in the hospital and the vet brought her into the room to us, she was so properly medicated that she seemed almost fine, however the vet didnt beat around the bush when explaining the reality of the situation. She was very knowledgeable about the treatment options and their costs and likelihood of them working and what not, and until we made our final decision she did not give her own opinion either way on whether we should keep Ebony alive of pull the plug. Ultimately however, we all came to the understanding that all of the treatments were more of a bandaid than a cure. Ebony was 13 years old, and a small dog, so surgery wasnt an option, as it was likely to be pricey and fatal. The vet also explained that the medications would mostly just prolong Ebonys suffering for maybe 6-12 months, which we all felt would be nothing but tourture for Ebony. Eventually, as a family, along with the vets help, we were able to make the toughest decision that I have ever had to make in my 19 years of life. That day, June 1st, 2017 at around 8:30 pm, we had Ebony euthanized. The staff made the process quick and painless, allowing us all the option to either stay in the room or step outside while they did it. I stayed. I wanted to make sure Ebony knew that from since she was a puppy small enough to hold in my palm to when she was an old woman with cataracts and a bad back, she was my baby and she was loved more than anyone could comprehend. When the process was done, the staff kindly packed her into a box so we could take her home and give her as proper a burial as we could manage. However, the kindess of these vets knows no bounds, thus when we received the bill, seeing how torn up our family was, the two vets who helped us decided to waive our fee for the euthanasia drugs. Then, not a week later, in the mail we received the loveliest card I have ever seen with the condolences of everyone on the Happy Tails staff. It was such an unnecessary kindness, and even if its just procedural, I could tell from their messages that they really did care that we were grieving. To conclude, I still miss Ebony, despite this all having taken place a little over 3 months ago. I had been putting off writing this review because just the thought of how caring and wonderful the Happy Tails staff was to my dog and my family brings me to tears. Nevertheless, I had to let it be known that I will never bring my animals to any other vet as long as Happy Tails is around, as they are professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, they genuinely care about animals and their families. If anyone at Happy Tails reads this, thank you for all that you do, and I hope you enjoyed the candy and letter that we gave you as a thanks for your help.

We had been using a different provider but our puppy trainer recommended Happy Tails because they are more holistic and include behavioral health in their scope of practice. So when we had an emergency - puppy ate some grapes - we called them. Even though he had not been there before they took him in, and were very professional even though it was late at night and they were busy. They did a great job and we are happy that we switched.

This place did surgery on my dog for no reason. She had a clogged stomach and they thought it was cloth. It was actually just dog food she couldnt digest. This vet couldve gave her something to loosen the food. She didnt need that surgery. This place charged me so much money for nothing.

Beautiful and friendly place to take your pet! Our dog Kobe pulls us to the front door and wags his tail before entering the building - he just absolutely loves seeing the vet and everyone at the hospital. Strongly recommended
