Every time I look at my dog scratching herself, it reminds me that I spent $225. in two visits at this place and she IS NOT cured!! 1st visit: My dog was seen by a lady vet who diagnosed that she has allergy to flea bites and she prescribed cortizone shots ( temporary relief) and some allergy pills. She also wanted to do blood test for $100. I didnt think at the time that a blood test would show skin irritation. Therefore, I rejected the idea of blood test. After 10 days my dog start scratching again and I emailed the lady vet and I explained for the money that I spent ($100) she is still scratching herself and demanded a refund. She never returned my email. After a while probably about 6 months I moved to Torrance, Ca I started looking for a vet clinic in Torrance. I started to read reviews about pet clinics. I was shocked how cruel some of these pet clinics are toward innocent animals. So I decide to write a derogatory review about Ambassador Clinic in Long Beach. After a week owner of Ambassador Clinic named Sam called me and he sympathized with me about my experience at his clinic and he invited me over to his clinic to make up for lousy treatment I got at his clinic previously. He said " I make it worth a while for you"! I thought he wants to make it up for free!!! 2nd visit: I went to this clinic and I was greeted by the owner Sam, he seems to be very nice and as soon as he looked at my dog he said she got " SKIN INFECTION"!!! I thought to myself skin infection usually occurs with some kind of redness or sign. I thought he knows what he is talking about. He said I will do "BLOOD TEST". and he looked at me and I said ok. That will cost $100. and I bet they do it in house. He charged me $125. for the visit which he prescribed some "ALLERGY PILLS"($25) the same allergy pills the lady vet prescribed previously!!.He didnt even bother reading her chart to see what was prescribed to her before. IF my dog had "SKIN INFECTION" he should have prescribed some kind of antiseptic or antibiotic. After a few days he called and said " she doesnt have skin infection and her liver is good" Thats all I got for $125. My dog is still scratching herself. These people take advantage of pet owners who have lack of knowledge about pets. When you go to see a vet the nurse comes to the room and start selling different shots, do you need this or that. They are just trying to milk pet owners. My next step is to file a complaint with; "CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCY"

I will NEVER bring my animals to this facility again! This was my first time bringing my dogs to this facility. At first I was excited about getting an appointment on the same day. Based on the reviews I thought it was going to be a great vet. That excitement quickly vanished when we arrived. It turns out they give a $10 discount for Google reviews, so beware these reviews are not all from people who actually had good experiences. Teri at the front desk had a bad attitude and wasnt friendly or welcoming at all. When they came to pick up the first dog, after explaining to them how scared he gets when he has his nails cut they still wouldnt let me come back with him to comfort him while he was getting them cut. (This is something that I know about my dog. We have plenty of experience in this department. He does much better when I am distracting him.) They cut his nails so short that they cut the quick of his nails. Something I asked them to be careful not to do. When they brought him back I specifically asked if they drew blood, they said no. I can see the dried blood under his nails from where they cut them too short. When my boyfriend took our second dog back for her ear infection, they recommended over $400 worth of unnecessary tests. She has an ear infection, that was obvious, just clean her ears and give us meds! Why would you test for what type of bacteria it is?? The treatment is the same! We already knew how she got the ear infection. This dog also needs special attention when getting her ears cleaned. She cries, wont hold still, and tries to bite. They wouldnt let my boyfriend hold her, as this is the only way she will let them touch her without sedation. Instead they charged $80 for sedation, but didnt even bother to wait for it to take effect before they started cleaning her ears. We could hear her crying from the waiting room! So that was a waste of money. Both dogs left this facility acting traumatized. We will never bring them back to this place. Rude, over priced and a complete disregard for an owners knowledge of their pets behavior.

Dont let the good reviews fool you, they ask you to give them 5 stars in order to save five dollars during check out. They were my main vet for a total of 3 years, they seemed to do their job alright, but after adding things up I came to find that my animals would die there more than be " healed ". I brought my cat in who had been lightly panting after some physical activity during the hot months of summer, they proceeded to tell me she needed 5 different things to cool her down coming out to about 500$. After leaving here there for only 30 minutes I got a called that she had passed from " FIP " Which has a 1 percent chance of happening in most cats. Part of me thinks that they gave her something and she had an allergic reaction and they lied in order to get me to pay more money. For an example the first time I took her in they didnt even check her temperature before giving her a shot, luckily they took it after noticing it gave her a high fever ! Not following procedures properly could have killed her right then and there, I should have trusted my instincts. The bottom line is when I had less money, and made it audible they actually did their job properly, but once I had more money they over charged and even made me pay to get rid of the body. I had to pay 45 dollars just to not have to see my cats dead body, and still got charged full price for all of the injections?? How can they have used all 5 of them in 30 minutes? Makes no sense to me, be aware. Go to ban field instead. Everything in this post in considered opinion.

Pros: Friendly, attentive staff Cons: Parking lot is small I first came to Ambassador Long Beach Veterinary Hospital in the summer of 2006 to get my new puppy vaccinated. I found out about this place by looking online and comparing vaccination prices for all of the local vets. This place had the most affordable Puppy Wellness Plan that made getting all of the required vaccinations easy. I liked how helpful and friendly everyone was and how they really do treat your pet like it was their own. After I had my puppy vaccinated, they helped me with the next steps: spaying/neutering and licensing. After this positive experience, I said that I would take all of my future pets here. My most recent experience with this business was at the beginning of 2015 when my mom got a new puppy. They were just as friendly and helpful like I remembered. A special thank you to Terri for helping me feel comfortable about getting the newest member of our family spayed. I dropped off my puppy at 9am and received a call at 5pm telling me that the procedure was over and that everything was ok. I live closer to Petsmart and Petco, but I chose this place because the staff here is really good with your pets. I used to take my dogs to Petsmart, but my dogs would cry and shake. They don’t do that at this place. Other than the parking situation, Ambassador Long Beach Veterinary Hospital is perfect for all of your pets’ medical needs.
