Ive been a longtime patient for Silverberg Medical for almost 10 years now. I recently came back due to having my acne come back. I came back primarily to treat the acne and I saw Dr. Kim, whom I always regarded highly. So when I came in for the office, I had asked how could we treat the acne and I inquired about the smooth beam as the smooth beam is known to treat acne. She said they did not carry the smooth beam but had fraxel which is used to treat acne scars not acne itself. She prescribed some medications to treat my acne so this appeared to be a typical dermatological appointment Ive done in the past. So when I checked out the receptionist told me it was $150 for the cosmestic consultation fee. I asked him, isnt the insurance paying for this appointment? They said yes, but since I inquired about the Fraxel laser, I also had to pay a cosmetic consultation fee. I told the reception that no one had mentioned to me about a cosmetic consultation fee and I wasnt aware of one and I wouldnt have asked about the smooth beam laser if inquiring about it would have costed me $150. He insisted it was because I inquired about the fraxel laser, which I did not but Dr. Kim brought up to me. I mentioned to him most offices do not charge a cosmetic consultation fee and I was not told of this fee when I asked about the smooth beam. Then the receptionist said well we arent like most offices, we have the most lasers out of anyone in OC. Well apparently they didnt have the smooth beam. So I politely asked, may I please speak the doctor about this. So I waited 45 minutes and Dr. Kim came out and I explained the situation to her and she seemed to understand my concern and seemed nice about it and said she would talk to Dr. Silverberg. Then they responded that Dr. Silverberg was busy in surgery and get back to me, so I said thanks for your time and let me know how it goes. I waited several days and I did not get any response back. So I called back and explained the situation and they said they would talk to the doctors and get back to me again. The next day they left a message on my voicemail saying that they would clear the balance. I thought everything was fine because they made things fair, and not attempting to double dip on my appointment. However a few days later I get a letter stating: "I regret to inform you that you are being discharged from our medical practice effective immediately. I am reluctant to discharge anyone from our practice, but I have no other choice due to your disruptive behavior. This decision is final and non-negotiable. Signed by Dr. Kim and Dr. Silverberg." Interesting how they say my behavior was "disruptive", Ive been a long time patient, Im always polite and I just wanted to make things fair. If they had told me that there was a $150 fee for asking about lasers, and I still asked about the laser then I feel they are right and I should pay the $150. But since there was no mention of this, and they were charging my insurance for the appointment anyways, I dont think double dipping for a 15 minute appointment is morally right, especially charging me for a laser I asked about they dont even carry. I would have even been fine splitting the cosmetic fee in half, because there was a misunderstanding although I dont feel Im at fault here. So I wanted to share my experience with this medical office. Apparently they are more interested in getting money from their patients than they do the care of them. Im very disappointed in the way they handled the situation and with Dr. Kim. I just hope they learn they need to tell their patients what the fee is first before charging them, and they learn do things right for their patients and not out of greed.

I have never written a review before, but I felt compelled to write one for this office. When calling to make an appointment they are very short, and almost condescending. My appointment was at 11:40 am I signed in at 11:30am. I was not even acknowledged in the waiting room until 12:30. Then after I approached the front desk and informed them how long I have been waiting, they took into another room where I waited for another 30 minutes! Literally as I am getting up to storm out of the office Dr. Silverberg walk in with a big smile on her face. I pointed out how long I have been waiting, and she simply said "ahhhhh, its just been one of those crazy mondays, sorry dear." PLEASE consider another dermatology office they will treat you as if you are privileged to be in their presence. Take Care, Corona Del Mar resident...

I do not recommend seeing Nancy Silverberg. She did not inform me of side effects from a treatment even though I asked about side effects on several occasions. Further, as confirmed by several other doctors, she was too aggressive with my skin which has left it scarred and discolored. She was extremely dismissive after she botched the treatments even charging me for the products that would supposedly help resolve the problems she created. She never followed up with me. She has moved on to charging more people for services and procedures probably to finance the office build-out she uses to display all of the products she is selling. There are plenty of great doctors in the area and she is not one of them.

I have been a patient at Silverberg for quite a few years. I hadnt been back in awhile when I decided to go in for a typical skin exam. I was seen by PA-C, Sarah Edwards, and Josh. They were both very attentive, answered my questions and were extremely helpful in finding the best option for getting my prescription refilled at an affordable cost. The front office staff was very friendly and efficient with my health insurance change and check out. I would recommend Dr. Silverbergs office to anyone looking for a quality dermatologist that is experienced in many treatment areas.

Dr. Nancy Silverberg is one of the most brilliant doctors I have had the pleasure of meeting. She is both incredibly talented in her specialty, goes above and beyond to take care of her patients and is always so energetic and positive. She is a world class surgeon, and in my opinion has better technique than plastic surgeons. Highly recommend her and her office to all my friends and family.
