This vet does walk-in spay/neuter only. You cannot make an appointment. On the recommendation of a neighbor, I decided to take my 6-month old male puppy and female puppy in to get fixed. My husband got there first thing in the morning at 8 AM to drop them off - there was one client ahead of him that was there for something else, not a spay/neuter. They were very informal and had my husband scribble our contact information and the procedures we wanted on a slip of paper. They kept our puppies all day. I called a few times to check on them and time and time again they kept saying they havent been taken into surgury yet, it will be in an hour or two. I asked them to call me and let me know how things went after the surgury and they said they dont do that, that I have to be the one to call and check. At 5:00 PM I called and after being on hold for at least 5 minutes, the woman on the phone returned and informed me that there had been some other "emergencies" in the office that day and our puppies still had not been taken into surgury, and that they would probably have to stay overnight. The doctor would come in first thing in the morning (a Saturday) and do the surgury. I asked if I could come get them and bring them back in the morning. She said no, that it would be done first thing in the morning, "before I would even have a chance to come in" and that if I wanted to pick them up, my only choice would be to bring them back Monday. Tired of the nonsense, I called back a few minutes later and calmly let them know I would be coming to pick them up. The woman said that was fine but that I had to be there before 6 PM. The woman at the front desk was with another client when we got there and didnt even acknowledge us until 5 minutes later, after the other client had left with her dog. Im not positive, but it seemed like the client ahead of us was picking up her dog that had just been spayed/neutered, which makes me wonder why they didnt have time to do ours when they were the first ones there that morning. The woman at the front desk kindly retrieved our puppies, but didnt say a word to us. Didnt ask why we were picking them up, didnt apologize and make an effort to mitigate the situation, nothing. We left without a word. When I got them home, they were ravenous and scarfed down about a cup of dog kibble within 10 minutes and chugged up their water. I am positive that they hadnt had any food and likely no water all day since they were not supposed to if they were to be taken into surgury. I had not given them food or drink since the evening before. By the time we got them home, they had gone almost 24 hours with no food or drink. I dont even want to think what they would have done had I left them there overnight. I am extremely dissatisfied with this vet and their lack of respect for me and my animals. We were paying customers and the service was below par of the local DMV office! I have heard good things about the vet himself, but he needs to make some administrative changes to how his office is run. This never should have happened, and I strongly recommend taking your animals somewhere else for a spay/neuter.

Those that know dogs well, know they are getting great service with Dr Jezbera and his staff. I have been involved with dogs my entire life having grown up with my grandmother at her kennels where she boarded dogs for many and raised a few champion Poodles. In life I have been primarily a pet groomer, I have also been an animal control officer and a veterinary hospital manager. I think the style of business management exhibited at Riverside Animal Hospital is extraordinary and I have suggested that veterinarians I know go to Riverside to watch an incredible feat of teamwork in this hospital to better their own veterinary practice down here. I regularly select to have my animals treated by the staff at Riverside Veterinary Hospital even though we live in San Diego. I am not the only one that drives great distances to benefit from the service there, as I often meet people in the waiting room there from outside Riverside County. I perform and register the health screening results on my breeding dogs more than anyone in my chosen breed and Riverside Animal Hospital has helped me to afford that level of commitment I give to the gene pool that I wish to enhance. Dr Jezbera and his staff have a tremendous reputation among show dog owners for giving great care with knowledge and thoroughness. I would never expect to see any shortcuts taken there. Also to note, not all veterinary hospitals are AAHA designated, that takes extra steps in management and talent provided the public. I know a very, very good veterinary hospital when I experience it and Riverside Animal Hospital is one - I just wish I lived closer! My special thanks to the lady Klee Kai breeder that referred me to this hospital in the first place just a few years ago - wish I had found them sooner. The all round basic, down to Earth knowledge that Dr Jezbera possesses and imparts is the real jewel of this practice. I took the time to write this post in giving appreciation for the decades of experience he shares with me when I need his opinion. Julie and Poodles

As the technician ive got to say, we provide the most reasonable prices in riverside. We care about your pet the way you do. We dont try to steel your money all we want to do is provide you with the best veterinary care possible. I work long hours and take my time with your pet to ensure this is fulfilled. Theres days when i wont take a lunch because im trying to finish a surgery.Sure we have tough clients but that only pushes us to better our services. Doctor Jezbera has been in this office for over 40 years. Most of our clients are big time breeders. For example: Gary steel with the number one boxer in the country, Hanne Renno which also shows beautiful, healthy boxers. David Smith shows the number one rottweiler in germany and america. theres many more responsible breeders which only come to us no matter how far away they are. Theres times when people stay in there R.Vs because theyve come from out of state. They all expect and receive the best care. We dont take appointments so everythings always unexpected. Ofcourse emergencys are always treated first, so sometimes we get backed up on our surgeries. We apologize as much as we can yet some peolple still dont understand. EARCROPING: Its the best cut ive ever seen. There most likely to stand than other cuts. He cuts them to your liking. Our tappings are light weight and durable. They wont hurt your dogs ears or weigh them down and there not uncumfortable. We dont use any metal. The rest of the staff are great. They have great personalities n can relate to you n your pet. Theyve seen the best and worst that can happen to your pet. Theyll make you laugh, smile, and have a great time. . . . thats if your up for it of course! Tell them a story and thell listen. Theyll help you to your car, if needed. Heck, well carry you to your car if you want.......kidding. Its a tough job but we love it.
