I adopted a couple of senior/geriatric cats a little over a year ago, and started coming to Alum Rock Animal Hospital after being pretty unimpressed by the folks at Story Road. The service here is excellent and the entire staff is very friendly and accommodating. The vets are thorough and informative and happy to answer all of my questions. I brought my 14 year old cat, Floyd, here on a Sunday after he was very ill early in the morning. I did not have an appointment but was welcomed in first thing and the vet saw my cat, and gave me a good idea of what was probably happening based on the preliminary examination and sent everything in for tests. They were very accommodating and patient when there was an issue with my card going through. While waiting for the test results over the weekend, Floyds condition deteriorated, but the staff was helpful and friendly over the phone when I called to check in about the best way to care for him in the interim. Unfortunately, Floyd was very sick (turns out he had liver & kidneys issues, as well as diabetes, all of which happened very suddenly) and passed away Monday evening. However, both he and I received excellent care during this hard time, which made all the difference. I would highly recommend Alum Rock Animal Hospital to anyone looking for excellent and friendly care for their furry friends.

Dr. Bath, his assistant Simmer and the rest of the staff were literally life savers! I brought my doberman in, who had just ingested 3 times her lethal amount of rat poison, on a Sunday when all other clinics were closed and they admitted and treated her immediately. Their sense of urgency, knowledge, and genuine compassion really made it really easy to trust their procedures and remove 95% of the anxiety I had also brought into the clinic. They thoroughly treated my doberman to minimize any chance of the poison being absorbed to maximize her positive outcome. It has been over 32 hours since our visit and my doberman is doing well, as if nothing tramatic had even occured yesterday. This was also my first visit to their clinic, but that did not delay time of treatment. Had I not been visiting from out of town this would be my number one go to. I highly recommend their clinic. I would also highly recommend to anyone that discovers their pet has ingested poison to act immediately by calling poison control to obtain quick information and get to the vet clinic. If possible, bring the poison packaging with you because not all poisons have antidotes which effects the treatment. Thank you Alum Rock Animal Hospital!

I sent my 2 dogs for boarding at this place. After the trip I went there to pick them up, so I called ahead to make sure the staff would wait for me and I would be there before closing. Their hours is 9-6pm sat and I got there 3 minutes to 6pm, they were already closed and the manager said that if no appointment they would close early. Knowing​ I was coming so they closed sooner so that they didnt have to help me. When I spoke to the manager day after, she said that my time was wrong and she closed at 5:54pm. No apologies. This is so rude and so unprofessional. If your hours posted that way, you should keep your commitment. In this case I already called before I came. If u cant​ do that then just close your business. If you dont respect a human how can u care for animals?

The staff and doctor were very friendly and helpful. They saved our lives...at least my kittys life!! We lost our home and have struggled financially ever since. The vet my cat went to on Story Road wouldnt give him his medication until some test results came back which would have left him without anti-seizure medication for two weeks. They had also nearly doubled their price for a blood test from $150 to $250!! They basically were blackmailing us and still putting our cats life in mortal jeopardy. We were told by a friend about Alum Rock Animal Hospital and at the last minute (we were out of medication and he will die without it), they took us and took care of my kitty, Also, their blood test only costs $130. I highly recommend this place.

Went in for my puppys final vaccinations. Spoke to person in the front desk and asked for a benadryl shot since the vaccinations gives my dog hives. He said no other shots are approved unless vet sees her. I thought at this point he would offer that service to me yet he rushes me into the exam room letting me know home treatment of benedryl would be fine. Another person comes in and administers the shot. Wake up this morning and my or puppy is riddled with hives all over her body. And the place was empty, two cars outside... two employees inside... oh well... anyone know of a place where they treat people nicely and have a concern for the family member you bring in?

I love coming here to this clinic!!! I bring both my cats here and they take great care of both of them. The doctors are thorough about both of my animals and I leave the clinic feeling satisfied that I know whats going on with my animals. The staff up front is very friendly as well and since one of my cats is on a special presription diet, I come to this clinic for his food as well. I highly recommend them to my fellow pet owners for dog or cat care!!

It doesnt even deserve 1/2 of a star. Took my dog there. The vet was not very polite and was just after $. Thankfully, I waited until the next day. to take my dog to the Vet where we always go (Story Animal Hispital) Vets and staff there actually care about the animals. They charged me $150 for what Alum Rock Animal Hospital was going to charge $382. I would NEVER go back to that place. Run away if you get Dr. Batch he ia just after your wallet.

I would recommend Alum Rock Animal Hospital to anybody. They were absolutely fantastic, as a first time pet owner they were very patient with me and answered all my questions. They made me feel very welcome and good about visiting them. I am caring for a pitbull that is just 6 weeks old. Not sure if I will keep the puppy but they helped me ensure his future owners would have a healthy puppy.

I brought my dog into Alum Rock Animal Hospital and was very pleased with the experience. They were very helpful and were accommodating to my financial limitations. They prescribed my dog some medications to take home, and called soon after to see how my dog was responding to treatment. Over all the service was great and I would highly recommend this hospital.

Great prices, excellent service. I kennel my dogs there and they are always clean, well fed and happy when i pick them up. PLUS, i never have to worry about them getting lost or sick since it is a professional vet clinic and the area they walk them is totally fenced. It doesnt get better than this.
