I was 100 pounds overweight for many years and every New Years Eve (just like millions of other overweight people) I would make my resolution to lose weight, to get some exercise in, to eat healthier food... and weeks into the new year, I would always fail. I started seeing commercials for the lap band surgeries and decided since I had tried EVERY SINGLE DIET, diet pills, accupuncture, hypnosis, dietitian and finally a shrink, I was going to look into this procedure. Im not one who takes surgery lightly and was actually quite frightened. I looked into this procedure on line and honestly, it put me off. In the meantime, a coworker of mine had the surgery done and I saw how well he doing. His only complaint was with his doctor and their office (NOT DR LIU) and how he felt like he was part of the herd. He always had a hard time making appt and had to wait a long time to see his Dr. once he got at the office. This information put me off on doing this procedure big time.. so I decided to just watch his progress and see how he did. In the meantime, this coworkers wife and another friend of mine had the Lap-Band procedure done and both of them went to DR LIU...both of these people couldnt have praised DR LIU enough along with his staff. So after watching three people lose a significant amount of weight over a two year span, I decided to look into having the procedure done. I went to my coworkers doctor and went through all the necessary procedures (classes, support groups etc) and then when it got time to set up an appointment with the doctor who would be performing the surgery, I found out I had to wait 6 months to get an appointment!! I was shocked to hear of how many patients he had and how many surgeries he had booked and it brought back to my mind my coworkers comments on how this particular doctor and staff would overbook and how he felt like part of the cattle call!! I decided this was not the doctor for me and had them remove me from their patient file. I was very put off by this whole situation and let another year go by.. then I decided to go see DR LIU and I have never looked back..His staff was awesome right from the beginning and I was able to make an appointment in a timely manner to meet DR LIU. I felt very comfortable and DR LIU took his time with me explaining the procedure from beginning to end and answered all of my questions. What I greatly appreciated was his staff and their openess to answering any questions or concerns. After three years of contemplating having this surgery done, I decided it was time and put my trust in DR LIUS hands. I had my surgery done on March 11, 2010 and have lost 47 pounds. I still have a ways to go to meet my goal but Im headed in the right direction. My eating habits have changed and I feel so much better since Ive lost weight. I no longer have to take the daily meds I was taking. I honestly feel like DR LIU saved my life. If anyone is out there thinking long and hard about having this surgery, I say go see DR LIU and sit down and chat with him. It was the best thing I could have done for myself and my family.

I’m 41 and finally having Fun! I have spent the last 20 years of my life trying every single diet fad, diet plan and diet system ever invented. I have spent a lot of time and money on all the diets you read about and see advertised. I have had great success with all of them, always being able to lose 10-30 lbs. I have always tried my hardest to stick with the diets only to fail every time and find that in the end I have gained more than I actually lost. I kept on trying every new diet fad because at the age of 34 I now had two children; a 3-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter. They had energy and I didn’t have any at all! They wanted to play and I was just to BIG to run, hop, chase or play. As my kids were getting older, I was getting wider, grayer and always feeling fatigued and my constant failure to loose weight left me hopeless. I was now 41 years old; my kids are nine and seven. I had diabetes, severe sleep apnea, and was obese. My kids, thank God, are thin and are not going down the path of being overweight. My primary doctor recommended that I go see Dr. Liu and have a consultation. Upon walking into Dr. Liu’s office, I was greeted, not judged! The staff was kind, and encouraging and Dr. Liu himself was very sincere. I had my consultation and left Dr. Liu’s office feeling hopeful and excited about what was going to be the most drastic change in my life. I went home and shared everything that I had learned with my wife we read over additional information that Dr. Liu’s staff had shared with us and agreed that this was the best thing not only for myself but for my family as well. I had my procedure in April of 2012. By August 2012 I had lost 60lbs. I am no longer a diabetic, I no longer suffer from sleep apnea. I’m continuing to loose weight every month and everybody says I look great. The best news is that I have the energy to play with my kids… And that’s priceless! Thank you Dr. Lui for giving me the life that I feared I would never have and giving me plenty more years with my family.

Dr. Liu is the number one weight loss Doctor in the entire World. Ok, I dont know the entire weight loss doctors in the entire world, but Ive been to several in California and hes the best Ive ever been to. (: Dr. Carson Liu performed my lap band surgery in February 2010. However, I first had a consultation at 1-800-GET-THIN, which was a nightmare. In my experience with them I felt like I was being pressured into the lap-band procedure. Also, I didnt like the idea of having surgery in the doctors office and not in a reputable hospital. Dr. Carson Liu gave me a totally different experience. Dr. Lius office is very pleasant and has a real nice atmosphere. I was treated like a person that had some concerns about their health and Dr. Liu and his staff were there to help. Dr. Liu is very professional, which he exemplifies in his office and his knowledge of weight loss surgery. He made me feel so comfortable by taking his time explaining every detail of the surgery to me. After meeting with him; I knew right away that I wanted him to perform my surgery. My surgery was performed at Cedars Sinai, and not in Dr. Lius office. I was under a team of knowledgeable Bariatric professionals that comforted me and assured me that I was in the best hands with Dr. Liu. Dr. Liu is a phenomenal weight loss surgeon, who has helped me on my way to a healthy weight loss of almost 60 pounds and counting. Thank you Dr. Liu!

A little over two months ago I decided to have the lap band surgery. For well over 2 years, I researched the procedure, the product and many doctors. I decided it was time to start making appointments with three doctors that I found to be highly regarded in the industry, Dr. Liu being one of them. I went to the first doctor and had a horrible experience that I decided that I wasnt going to have the surgery. After about 2 weeks I decided to call Dr. Lius office for a consultation -- THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE! Not only was Dr. Liu patient and thorough, his staff is just as good. Not at one point did Dr. Liu rush me or not answer a question. He spent well over an hour with me on my first visit. I decided to then go for a second opinion on the East Coast -- this physician, who was head of bariatric surgery as a well know university hospital, agreed that the surgery was the correct one for me. When I mentioned Dr. Lius name this physician told me to go back to LA and go schedule the surgery with him -- that he is one of the most well respected physicians in this field and has great outcomes. I returned to LA, scheduled the surgery and had it done on October 3, 2011. HANDS DOWN, THE BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. The surgery was easy, the care was excellent and I have been losing weight at a steady speed. Dr. Liu has given me my life back -- I am active, I am social and I am living life again.
