This place is just horrible. I found an abandoned stray kitten only a couple of days old and I called this place to see if anything could could be done for her. They immediately turned her down, although they did recommended an emergency pet clinic that might be able to take her in. Well, I went there and they didnt want to help her either, which really upset me as well but I wont get into that. Both places told me to take her to a shelter and the next day I did take her, but because she was so young they would have put her down. So I decided that I would try my best to help the kitten survive and she did well for a few days. I fed her every two hours, stimulated her to go potty, I kept her warm...I did everything I could to keep her going. I researched all that I could but it still wasnt enough. She needed medical help, but nobody wanted to take a look at her without pay which I didnt have enough of, especially since this place is so damn expensive. One morning she was unresponsive out of nowhere and of course I started panicking and called this place to see if they would let me take her and they said it was fine to bring her in this time. She passed away on the way there. I still brought her in, in tears, not knowing what to do next. They told me they could start an emergency CPR...which starting price was $500. The whole experience was absolutely horrible. I believe that if they really did care for animals, they would have helped sooner. All I wanted was for that kitten to have a chance at life and they took that from her.

About 3 weeks ago my cat was in a lot of pain so I brought him in as an emergency visit. The doctor could not find anything wrong with his bloodwork or X-rays yet still wanted me to pay to get them sent to a specialist. I declined and the doctor gave pain meds and fluids which actually did help the cat. At this visit I had mentioned that the cat was having urinary issues and going all over the house. The doctor ignored this and did not even look at the urine. Two weeks later I noticed that my cat was now peeing blood so I called again and they claimed that he would need another full physical because this was a new problem. After much talking I finally got them to just run the urinalysis to test the urine which they had to send out instead of doing it in house. They would not give my cat any medication to make him more comfortable while we waited for the test results. When the results did come back they then said that they still could not give him any meds without first redoing all his bloodwork from two weeks before, redoing the X-rays, performing an ultrasound and a urine culture. They also said that he was dehydrated but would not send home SQ fluids that I could give to him under the skin. Basically they only wanted my money and did not try to help my cat without first draining my wallet and having him suffer while the tests came back from the lab. I would not suggest that anybody take their animals here.

My husband and I recently adopted a very old dog from the Inland Valley Humane Society. She had a pretty bad case of kennel cough, internal parasites, and a urinary tract infection. The humane society sent her home on antibiotics but they also provide a free physical exam at VCA in Upland within 14 days of adopting any new pet. When I took our new dog "Ruby" in, the front staff was very friendly and in fact thanked me and told me how amazing I was for adopting an older dog. When the Dr came in to examine "Ruby", she was on the ground with her, giving her love immediately. She answered all of my questions and even looked up a breed online that she thought she might be mixed with. They sent me home with 2 doses of de-wormer as she still had live tape worms in her stool and there was no cost to me what-so-ever. They have a contract with the humane society and many common conditions are covered within the first 14 days. The next day I realized I had forgotten to mention her UTI so I called back. They had me bring "Ruby" back in so they could get a urine sample and send her home with antibiotics. Again, no cost to me. Every person I came into contact with was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Ive worked in the veterinary field for many years and this is one of the best experiences with animal hospitals Ive had. I wish I could remember the Drs name because she was great!

i checked out reviews for VCA hospital and not all of them were so good. But at the end i took him here because my dog had parvo and he needed 24hr care- other places would take him 24 hrs but after hrs my dog will not be under suppervision??? u serious? well VCA is 24hr place with such good care all the personel there are so caring and willing to answer any questiion you have even trough the phone and even if u havent currently got care from them. They also followed up to see how my baybee "bones" was doing if your dog has parvo take him here! take him during weekday and before 6 so they wont charge u by emergency time. u will get a good price even tough for parvo its in the thousands it is still good price for the days and the time. only down i found was that the isolation room for parvo dogs is next to the washer and dryer it doesnt affect in any way but i just didnt really liked it. after all my experience with VCA was wonderful and the people there are well informed and know what they are talking about. WOULD RECOMMEND VCA to anyone! i almost forgot to mention! VCA THANK YOU VERY MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR SAVING MY FURRY BABY Bones :)

This Hospital is the worst.. We took our dog who was a patient of Dr. Johnsons into the office to be put to sleep.. he had a brain tumor that had progressed and he was having seizures daily even with medication. When we came in the ladies up front barely even acknowledge us. We took our dog and sat just to the right of the front desk.. In plain sight of the staff. They would rarely look at us and after 30 min did not even bother to say we will be with you soon..After our dog had been there for an hour, and completly out of it.. he had a seizure.. even then I had to go up to the desk and say "Hey Look, He is having a seizure!" They finally sent for a tech. My baby did not have to have that last seizure.. they could have taken him back much earlier. why did I make an appointment if I was going to wait an hour? I was glad to read the other reviews and know that I was not the only one who went in and felt neglected each time I went to the vet. THey will not get the opportunity to care for our next pet. ..

(0*)The prices were extremely high and we cared for our parrot just as they said. The medication had no effect and the food they prescribed didnt either. In fact it seemed as though he was debilitated by the medication. I dont know much for animal medical care but I wouldve loved a shot or something that directly strengthened his immune system. Again; I wouldnt know. But $1k+ For X-Rays -Isnt affordable for the majority of us who care for our Bestfriends- Mostly because that was just the charge for X-Rays; who knows how much the following procedure would be... In that Im sure. And please dont bother calling in three days to ask about his well being. Because hes dead and youre $200 richer and Im left with 10oz. Of accumulated useless medication and a deep whole in my heart and that of my familys. Thank you; for doing so little. Its wierd how you work so much with pets, and you cant develop a heart for them.
