Tagline: DR. CUELLAR REFUSES TO PROVIDE SERVICES FOR DYING PET! Fails to talk to adults in a mature way. Dr. Kelly is great, sweet, and wonderful. I took my senior cat in recently when I noticed she had been losing a lot of weight, and Dr. Kelly was professional and sensitive when informing me that my cat had a lump in her stomach area. This was awful news to hear, but I appreciated that Dr. Kelly answered my questions and provided me with follow up instructions on how to proceed next with my ailing cat. Dr. Cuellar, on the other hand, is the reason for the 1 star. When I first noticed that my cat was losing weight and that she was not eating as much 3 months ago, I took her in to get checked. I told Dr. Cuellar the issues, which he wrote down. He gave her the annual shots and such. Then he sent me away with no follow ups or suggestions. He did not offer to check her blood or take x-rays or anything, despite the fact that Ive noticed a change in eating habits from my 13-year old cat. This should have been a red flag! As a first time pet owner, I do not have the medical background to know the questions to ask and the medical tests available for senior cats, and Dr. Cuellar failed to inform me of these things. Despite everyones raving of Dr. Cuellars experience in this field, he has failed severely to support me and my cat. My main complaint with all this is that her suffering for the past 3 months could have been avoided or alleviated if Dr. Cuellar had been a more mindful practitioner. *** UPDATE: Dr. Cuellar is completely unprofessional and unethical! He called me the next day to give me the diagnosis of my cat, which was very bad news. I asked him why he neglected to recommend blood work and x-rays last May when I first noticed that there was seriously something wrong with her. He denied any responsibility and refused to compensate me for the medical expenses for his lack of oversight. When I told him I would be writing him a bad review on Yelp, he told me that I was no longer welcomed to bring my cat to his vet and would send me my paperwork so I can take my dying cat somewhere else. WHAT KIND OF VET REFUSES TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO YOUR DYING PET?!! Rather than talking to me as an adult about how we can best work together to help my cat, he is demonstrating that he clearly does not appreciate feedback nor truly cares about your pet beyond his business operation.

Best Vet clinic ever! Dr. Rigoni and the wonderful staff at SoCal Vet cared for my mini schnauzer Charlie for 10 wonderful years. It is certainly up to a pet guardian to bring our pets in for routine exams, but I have been blown away time and time again with accurate diagnostics and Dr. Rigonis (and the teams!) diligent and thorough exams. He saved Charlie from acute renal failure when he was 4 because he asked the right questions and got him on fluids immediately. The team of vet techs helped with all of my questions about Diabetes (Thanks Vo!). And when it was time to say goodbye to our dear boy, Dr. Rigoni and Erika came to our home to ensure that Charlie would be at peace in his final moments - SoCal goes above and beyond! The reception staff is so lovely and courteous, as are the caring and professional vet techs. I cant thank them enough and Im so happy that my other mini Monty has the best vet team in the world! I really understood how fortunate I was to be with SoCal Vet when I visited another Vet hospital nearby. The staff at SoCal are there to help your dear pet in any way they can - they are wholly concerned about keeping your pet healthy and happy - it is not about the money. I found that there is no comparison - the other hospital staff was cordial and concerned about my comfort with ample varieties of tea and coffee, but not my dear Charlie. Thank you soooooo much and I can honestly say that my experiences with SoCal Vet (and Ive been there a lot!) have always been professional and pleasant:):)

I am shocked by these poor reviews. There is an unfortunate lack of diversity. This is the best animal hospital I have yet to visit and I think the situations described dont even match anything I have experienced or observed at the So Cal Vet. Previously, I had gone to this hospital with my cat, Miso, and while I spent much of my time with the veterinarians (both Dr. C and Dr. Kelly) as she grew older, I never regretted the money I spent there. After a couple years of absence because of my cat passing, a new adopted puppy went in for his first visit. He is very well taken care of there, considering he was a quite mess when our family picked him up from the shelter. He had a terrible cough and was covered in ringworm. We had him neutered last week and the thorough approach was gratifying and comforting, I felt very safe leaving my pup in their care. The amount of concern and diligence given to me personally is not an isolated occurrence. My mother, who is also a client, knows the staff by first name. Her dog, Abby, once stayed there for three weeks after he was attacked by another dog and is now completely healthy. I highly recommend this office, if you want the best care possible for your best friend. The approach towards veterinary medicine is very professional and I hope this will clarify any concern about your pets safety and the quality of this clinic.

I began my association with SCVH with a German Short Haired Pointer puppy named Max-who was cared for by SCVH until his death at age 13 1/2.A very short time after that, SCVH began caring for still another GSP pup - Charlie--and continued doing so until it became necessary to give him the peace he deserved -hed been fighting cancer--at about 13. Dr. Gualdoni and his Assistant came to our home and administered the drugs. He did it with genuine understanding and, if it can be done in such a situation, elegance. Shortly threafter we brought home another GSP--a female - named Patches, who Dr. Gualdoni and his staff cared for until her untimely death as the result of a hit and run at age 3 1/2. We now have Coope - little guy we rescued 8 years ago at-we think-9 months. Hes a mini Poodle/Lab or Bichon. Do the math - weve been going to SCVH for almost 40 years and have always found them to be honest, fairly--if slightly expensively--priced, and extremely professional. ,

Ive been going to Southern California Veterinary Hospital for years with my personal pets, close family pets, friends pets and work pets. I love them! all of them! Front office staff is amazing! vet techs are very patience and caring and the doctors are number one in their field! The owner Dr. Cuellar is one of a kind, always explains everything, always listen and gives you the best treatment available. Yea, prices are a little high but you pay for what you get! and beside I know other vets in the area that charge almost double.. so I was very happy with their service! I recently moved to a different area so Im using a different vet but I still call to get my pets records or I stop by to pick up food the staff is always nice and friendly. If I had the time to drive three hours to see Dr. Cuellar with my pets I would! I miss them and want to Thank all of them for taking care of my pets for so many years. :-)
