We took our son in for a basic eye exam and the total experience was horrible from beginning to end!!! We ended up having to wait for almost 45 minutes until the doctor came into our room to begin the exam. She then made a comment as to my son was "fresh meat" since this was his first exam. She then went through the eye exam and asked if we wanted to purchase a pair of glasses. I told her that we were not ready to purchase at the time and her next comment was, "lets head out to the front and look at some frames!" I, again told her that we were not going to purchase glasses on this particular visit and she responded by saying "let me check your plan." I, again told her that we were going to wait having already spent well over an hour and a half in the office. My wife, who was waiting in the lobby the entire time looked at me and said "we are getting out of here" under her breath. After leaving the office she explained to me that the sales people in the front office were badgering patients into trying to purchase expensive frames and lenses in the amount of $500 to $600 dollars! What a scam!!!!! Additionally, when we left the office they refused to give us our sons prescription that we payed for in the first place! We then took our son to Vision Works for a pair of glasses and the sales person called the Founders Parkway Vision Center to get a copy of the prescription faxed over to them and they again refused to fax it over stating that a release of records needs to be submitted to them and after the office manager reviews the request she would be the only one that could release the records!!! WHAT A TOTAL SCAM!!!!!!!! How can this place still be in business?????? I will never go back to this place nor should anyone else!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I have gone here for two years now. Our first visit was with Dr. Ragsdale, whom we both liked. However, this year we both went back for our annual exams and saw Dr. Raffa and we were not particularly impressed. I felt I had to remind him of things and I have a scar on my eyeball I"ve had since I was 3 years old when i was hit with debris. Ive seen 4-5 different eye doctors in my life, and Dr. Raffa was the first to try to tell me this was "sun damage". I told him what it was from, and he didnt seem to believe me. My husband had corrective lenses with prism to fix double vision. He repeatedly told Dr. Raffa about his past issue (and was also in his chart info). He didnt do any tests for this issue during the exam, which we both thought was odd. My husband wore his new glasses for about two weeks, feeling something was off, and finally came back in. His glasses did not have the prism lenses! I do not know how this was missed. After this experience I feel that we were not given thorough attention by Dr. Raffa, and will, unfortunately, be looking for a new optometrist next year. I will say that the technicians are very friendly and the front staff is very accommodating to schedule needs. UPDATED: My husbands glasses were apparently ready for 7 days and he received no call, text or email. This is after he had called to ask they be rushed and explained how badly he needed his glasses. Unbelievable.

Being in the medical field myself, and not a Dr, Ive found Dr Raffa to be one of the type of Drs from the old days. He has been the 1st Dr that has taken time with me and my wife, to explain things that are happening and things we should be looking for in the future. As for the staff, Ive experienced nothing but professional treatment from them. Again they take the time to go through all the glasses, lenses and talk honestly with you. Another rare thing in todays world. If they think the frames look bad on you, they will let you know that. At no point in the 3 yrs Ive been going to them, have they ever pressured me in to getting something I didnt need. Is Walmart cheaper? Maybe so, but are your eyes worth taking a chance. I tried Walmart several years ago, and was told by the next Dr, that I should have NEVER been giving the Rx I was giving at Walmart. I then understood why I had headaches for almost a year. If you want a true Professional to see you, I recommend Dr Raffa and his staff. But I WONT TRUST MY EYES to another Walmart again. Remember you get what you pay for, and GOOD QUALITY glasses are not cheap. Ive done the cheap frames and had everyone break on me. No replacement was ever given, so a 2nd pair was purchased. When I tried the better frames, NO BREAKAGE, and ended up beening cheaper than buying 2 seperate frames. Go figure! My wife Loves the staff there also. I say keep up the good work!!

Dr. Raffa is a very good eye dr. However, the office staff....HORRIBLE, CURT and RUDE!! I went in for an exam in Feb and tried contacts for 2 weeks. Called to let them know to strengthen the prescription and they said they had to call me back. Didnt call back! I called another week later and tried to order contacts and they said I couldnt because my insurance didnt pay the bill and that couldnt order until I paid the bill. So it was ok to order contacts before I or the insurance paid?!?!!??! And now that the insurance wont pay I cant get contacts?!?!?!Ok, well pay the bill went we get the invoice, I just wanted to order contacts. Called 1800contacts to order in which they had to confirm prescription at Dr.Raffas office and they refused! My husband called and was nice and calm first but got rude because of the office staff continued to be nasty. I went there in person to ask for my medical records and they refused waited for the Dr. The receptionist left the room and called the police!! All I need were contacts and for the bill to be mailed! Still no contacts!

I have been going to Dr. Ragsdale for four years now, hes been a great doctor. My kids and husband see him as well, up until my son broke is glasses. We went in to order a new pair just the frames as there was no damage to the lens. Ive waited over two months for the frames and when I call to see what is taking so long they say theyll call back after they call the manufacturer. They called back to say the manufacturer had the glasses on back order (which they never told me the four times in the last two months Ive called) and the glasses are to be two shipped to them and I can come in that day (hopefully Wednesday) and get his lens in the new frame. Ill update to whether this happens or not. I should of be made aware or the back order before placing and/or paying for the frames.

My 10 year old son came here for the first time today. We had to find a different optometrist since the place we have been going to for many years no longer accepts our insurance. FPVC is the only place in Castle Rock that accepts our insurance, which is why we picked them. We saw Dr. Ragsdale with his assistant, Jillian. The appointment was to get my son fitted for contacts. Everyone was very polite and patient with him. Jillian had such a calm nature about her, and spent a lot of time getting my son to understand the ins-and-outs of wearing contacts. Dr. Ragsdale was very personable and reassuring. Their pricing was also very fair. They have only seen 1 person in our household thus far, but they have gained 6 patients since our whole family will now be seen here.
