Last week this time, we lived one of every pet owners nightmares. My 9 year old shepherd, Nevada, was not acting herself. My husband brought her into Dr. Brian late afternoon and within a few moments, Dr. Brian felt something in her belly. After Xrays, it was evident it was a mass in the area of her spleen and possibly her liver. Being extremely thorough, Dr Brian arranged for her to get an ultrasound immediately at one of the area emergency clinics, did blood work and performed an additional chest xray so that we could make an educated decision as to what we were up against. The entire time, he was very calming (even though we just wanted to sob) explaining Nevadas care plan. Within an hour, Dr Brian was reviewing the ultrasound results with the Doctor that performed the ultrasound. Dr Brian scheduled emergency surgery to remove Nevadas spleen for first thing in the morning with her little sister, Sedona donating blood for Nevada, in order to stack the deck to give her the best chance possible. My husband and I felt the most comfortable with Dr Brian performing the surgery. By 8am she was at the hospital. Within 2 hours, Dr Brian let us now that she did really good in surgery and they were able to remove the spleen intact sending a biopsy to the lab just to be sure. Huge sigh of relief. Throughout the day, Dr Brian let us know each time Nevada and Sedona made it over huddles. It was so incredibly comforting knowing what was going on as anyone who has gone through this knows the agony of watching the clock. His staff at Beacon Valley Animal Hospital are absolutely AWESOME!! While we were going through this, it was like his staff was going through it with us. They were so compassionate and empathetic. Not only that, they were so complete in their care instructions, what to expect, the meds, and they had it all printed out just to be sure. Dr Brian followed up first thing the next day to see how we made out. The staff was insistent, call if we had any questions or concerns. As soon as the biopsy results came in, AWESOME news from Dr Brian, the biopsy came back benign. Our little girl, Nevada, would not be here right now if it weren’t for Dr. Brian’s prompt and accurate diagnosis after which he performed a life-saving operation. Dr. Brian’s extensive experience and knowledge especially in a crisis situation is incredible. He and his staff are so compassionate. I really do feel as though Dr. Brian treats each and every one of his clients animals as if they were his own. We have been bringing our shepherds to Dr Brian for years. I am so thankful for Dr Brian and his staff. Even if our results were not as good, my husband and I know that our girls have the best chance possible with Dr Brian and his staff.

I went to Beacon Valley for 13 or 14 years. I had to leave and find a Vet closer to me for medical reasons. I miss them all very much. Dr. Brian is a great guy. I miss him the most. Everyone that was part of the staff for all those years were all wonderful, loving and caring people. I have not 1 negative thing to say about anyone. Dr. Patty was also wonderful., However, we saw Dr. Brian most of the time and he was our primary. My dogs loved going there - We went every three weeks for nail trims and all the girls would have to do is open the door, say hi to them and they would just go on in alone - The Vet we go to now is horrible. The girls at the desk are always confused, the vets are afraid of my Shepard - The guy Dr., has never touched her, and she has to be muzzled as soon as we walk in the door - My Madison is very mellow and she is scared of them - Both of them are very standoffish w/ both my dogs - I have a puppy - 1 1/2 - she hates going there too! Your not going to find any better that Dr. Brian - He has always been up front with any and all issues - We disagreed on Dog Foods and always had a good laugh - Im stubborn and he dealt with it in a great joking manner - and then there were the few times he had to deliver bad news and he showed tremendous emotion - as did all of the staff - both in person and on the phone - I miss you guys. Hope all is well Love Camille Tiriolo

Dont bring your dogs here.. they are the money hungry and not caring at all. I had been coming here for a little while for just the basics vaccinations and physicals - so everything was ok.. but the minute my dog got sick they didnt want to deal with it - they didnt even want me to bring her in- they sent me to another office over 50 miles away from where I live. The receptionist told me out right to go and find another vet because they dont want to deal with the situation. and to get the records was another story - I had to call them everyday for over a week and a half just to send the records to another vet as they instructed me to do. I even asked for the records - their response was we can send them to you for a fee.. after fighting that point I gave in and said fine I will pay the .25 cent per page..just send them.. that was two weeks ago and I still dont have the records. they seem nice when you first go there but dont let your pet get ill - they are a nightmare and uncaring.. I took my time to get rid of my initial anger to write this post - however the facts remain the same.. in my dogs hour of need they totatlly turned their back on her and the situation. and were very rude in any type of assistance when they are the ones who recommended I go somewhere else. THEY ARE THE WORST.. PERIOD

Ive been going to Beacon Valley Animal Hospital for 3 years, theyve taken wonderful care of my cats and dog. My pets have been treated by both Dr. Burke and Dr. Laubstein at different times, and both doctors are very knowledgeable, friendly, and reassuring. It is clear that they (and their staff) love their job and the animals they treat. They answer all my questions, provide guidance, and most importantly, the follow up on everything. If I have to give my pets medication, theyll call after a week to check if my pets condition has improved. When I show up for appointments, theyve taken the time to review the chart and check to see if any old or recurring issues are a concern. I wont take my pets anywhere else.

I recently moved into the area and took my dog here for a routine vaccination. They did a good job with her but before I knew what happened they were clipping her toenails, performing some kind of test and giving her an exam without my consent. What should have been a small bill was then over 100.00 for 1 routine vaccination!! Make sure to ALWAYS get an estimate. I wish I would have now, I feel like I was taken advantage of when I clearly stated what I was there for. I will be taking my business to another vet.
