Id always heard good things about Countryside, so when my cat became ill a few years back and I had no luck getting a diagnosis, I made an appointment with Dr. Micinilio. I think it took him all of 60 seconds to figure out the problem, and further tests verified his initial opinion. A few words about Dr. Micinilio: he is a superb diagnostician; if he doesnt have an answer to a question, he will research to get me the information I need. And he follows up. He has that passion that draws him to take on tougher cases and a whole mess of species. And hes funny to boot. Actually, that holds true with all the doctors and staff at Countryside. Ive had the opportunity to meet each one, and they all impress the hell out of me. I feel that even if its their first time meeting my pet, they care about learning all about each beast I bring in. All of the veterinarians will explain issues and concerns in a language I understand. I trust in their advice. All of them. And thats a big deal to me. But a practice is not just its doctors. The reception area is always managed by friendly professional staff whom remain calm and organized no matter what lunacy sometimes surrounds them (like barking dogs, hissing cats, a dozen people standing at the desk, phones ringing and doctors needing information). When my cat is in for a procedure, the vet techs keep me informed and handle my cats with respect and compassion. They do an awesome job of calming down both my cat and myself. And I would be remiss to not mention the newly remodeled office. Great layout, comfortable, plenty of space to have my cat up with me, clean and modern. My only negative is wishing they had a cat-friendly waiting area. Dogs barking, sniffing at my carrier, even kids wanting to poke their fingers in. If cats could be secluded, I thing theyd be easier to handle during their appointment. To end my rambling on a positive note, just know that the people of Countryside are superheros to me.

I got my Boxer/Rideback Mix from my neighbors. I started off as her dog sitter then slowly became her owner. They chose Countryside Veterinary Hospital as their Vet-and I thank god everyday they did. I had the impression Countryside was an expensive place with rotating vets so that you never get that special bond. I was DEAD WRONG! I swear they take some sort of memory meds because everyone who works there knows you by voice, dogs name or several other things you would never expect from a larger vet. From the receptionists to the techs they all greet you and your pet by name when you come in and know your pets history. The Vets are all kind and you can see truly love animals. They make special exceptions for your animal if they have any issues and put you and your pet at ease if there are any problems your pet may have. I could go on for pages and pages about how great they are but you need to check it out for yourself. Just try one appointment there or go checkout the place and have a look around. They have treats for the pets and humans in the waiting area and a huge yard for you and your dog to play while waiting. Please give them a try you will not regret it.

I have been going to Countryside Veterinary Hospital for years. I have a 13 year old Lassabee and a 3 year old Shih Tzu. For both emergency and yearly care the doctors and staff have been professional, caring, understanding and friendly. The staff works with you to accommodate your schedule with flexible appointment times. The doctors explain any Treatment needed and answer any questions you might have without making you feel bad for asking. Although I have been lucky not to have many emergencies, I have been in the office at a time when one has come in. The staff and doctors have been a comfort with quick responses to the situation while maintaining calm and being supportive to the family. I love the monthly online Magazine and the mailed one with informative stories and educational material. I also love the fact that I receive reminders when its time for an exam or shot for my boys. I love my vet and the staff and would recommend them to anyone who needs a vetinarian.

I brought my dog brooklyn in for a leg injury and they where so kind and considerate to me and her. She is around 14 years old and had some lumps on her they told me to keep her comfortable and give her the medication they prescribed. She hadnt been to the vet since 2008 for financial reasons but she was brought to rabies clinic since then.I think my girl brooklyn had gotten some comfort out of being looked at by vet again. When she got home she was greeted by another dog I rescued last year and havent been apart since .The little guy Riley kissed her right on the bad leg as soon as the door opened and then curled up together. You know the unconditional love pets give and ask nothing in return thats the kind of love and support the staff at countryside veterinary hospital of shelton gave to me and brooklyn on our visit there . Thank You so much for helping us and caring !

For many years our animals have been treated by the Doctors and staff at Countryside. They are all fantastic caring people, helped us through many situations ..... one experience Ill never forget was when my 10 year old daughter (now 26!) had a beloved hamster..named Yoda. ..Dr Micinillio had removed a little growth and we had Yoda at home for a couple days when we noticed his staples werent looking right. This was a Friday night at 5 or so when I called. Dr Micinillio said hed wait for us to get there....and when we did he took care of Yoda and fixed my daughters tears too! Ive meant for years to tell him this story when Im in the office but I always get side tracked. Ill never forget the fact that he waited on a Friday night to see a 5.00 hamster that meant the world to my 10 year old. He means the world to us and all our pets over the years!!!

I have been taking my pets to Countryside Veterinary Hospital since September, 1994 when they first opened their doors for business. Dr. Bruce Kerns has treated and cared for each of the four cats that I have had over the past 22 years and has provided each one of them with the very best veterinary care out there! His vast wealth of knowledge and expertise, along with his huge capacity for kindness and compassion for our pets and their families, make him the very best in his field. The Countryside staff are also among the very best, demonstrating kindness, compassion, courtesy and professionalism at all times. The entire hospital is immaculate and very well appointed, making every visit pleasurable even if there is wait time. I highly recommend Countryside Veterinary Hospital for top quality care that is second to none. Pam Seitz

Easy to get an appointment even though its a busy place. Clean and well maintained. Vets we saw were so kind, caring and compassionate with our senior dog. He has difficulty walking due to arthritis in his hips and back. The vets gave us various meds and suggestions to try. The meds worked great and because theyre liquid I can easily adjust the dose to hit the right balance between joint and pain relief and possible intestinal upset. They also gave us information on other state-of-the-art remedies that are understandably expensive but its good to know about them so we can make an informed decision on treatment as time goes by. Vets and vet techs took all the time we needed to treat out our dog. We never felt rushed as I have in some other vets offices, really happy we found this place. Id never take my dog or cats anywhere else.
