Youre better off performing a medical exam on yourself than coming here.... came in on a Tuesday evening after a fall--suspected a broken wrist and my middle finger was in tremendous pain. Received x-ray images of both the finger and wrist here. The doctor was very pleasant and was honest in admitting he wasnt 100% sure the finger was broken but would send images out for referral to confirm one way or another. He said I would hear in the morning or the next afternoon. He called my wrist a sprain and had a nurse ace bandage it, along with a splint for my finger. The nurse was less pleasant..said he hated doing fingers/hands. Very reassuring. I hadnt received a call by 3pm the next day, so called asking whether my results were in. After being put on hold for 10 mins, I was told they were not in and that I would receive a call when they were. Fast forward to Friday, 3 business days and 2 useless phone calls later, I came back into NUC to sign a consent form to release my images to the orthopedic doctor that would be taking over my case. The administrative staff seemed very disorganized and didnt know much about what form I was supposed to sign. Finally, the supervisor took over and gave me my forms, then nonchalantly says that my X-ray results were with here. WHAT?!??! She says "oh yeah, both your wrist and finger are broken." When I asked when those results came in, she said "Two days ago." No one from NUC called me once and not one person informed me of these results after calling multiple times asking for them!!!!!! So Ive been walking around with a broken wrist that I thought was merely sprained and there was no attempt to further immobilize my hand aside from the Ace bandage....absolutely disgusting. Better hope this injury isnt deemed more serious by my orthopedic doctor and that the complete lack of competence that caused me to have to wait almost a week to get treatment doesnt cause permanent damage. Otherwise, you will be hearing from my lawyers....

Went there recently. Ive been there before and have always had a good experience. Not this one so much. I was in extreme pain (migraine for days). They did not ask me many questions. No one introduced themselves other than the intake person. I dont even know if I saw a doctor. The nurse (I guess) came at me a needle and didnt even tell me what it was. I had to pull away first and ask. It was dilaudid and it was the most terrible thing ever (not their fault of course). No tests. No labs. No asking if Im allergic to anything. No counsel. Just a shot that made me puke and kept me up all night itching like mad. I asked about something on my discharge paperwork and the nurse, the NURSE did not know. Did not offer to find out. Did not wear gloves when she gave me the injection. When I asker her a question on what I could take after this stuff wore off, she literally ignored my question and said her goodbyes. Not your best, Newark. Update: To be fair...when I have gone in the past I received good and prompt service. They have never been super friendly or caring (not rude just neutral) but good enough and always willing to provide information and answer questions. This recent trip too was very prompt but this time I needed more time, more information. There was literally no one else there. I was in and out in 15 min at most. I only got a quick fix, a shot which did not completely take away the migraine and gave me horrible side effects...of course its not their fault for that. Its probably all they could have given me with the amount of pain I was in. But explainations, referrals, information was absent. As was empathy and customer service. But it was good that they took care of me quickly. They are not terrible. Just have a lot to learn on customer care, bedside manner, and quality care.

DO NOT EVER go to this facility. First of all, they bill as EMERGENCY not urgent care and most insurance WILL NOT cover your charges until youve met your decuctible. Second, I went as a last resort. New to the area, no Dr. yet, I caught a virus that turned into a horrible sinus infection. I had tried every over the counter option available. The young Dr that I saw had no bedside manner and didnt even look in my nose or at my wonderfully colored infected phlegm. He sent me away to try more over the counter meds. Were supposed to trust Dr.s, right? After a few more days, shy of being admitted to the hospital, I took a trip to a true urgent care facility. Not only did the nurse practitioner have a wonderful caring disposition, but she looked at all symptoms to draw her conclusion. It took 2 full weeks of a strong antibiotic along with the strongest OTC meds to improve my situation. It took another 2 weeks after the meds to fully recover. If this Dr had only done a better job... be warned...dont let this happen to you. Now I have the bill that I have to pay. Thanks Newark Emergency Center for such a warm welcome to the area!

Went there first time and was diagnosed with Upper Respiratory Infection (common cold). Even though there were all the symptoms for pneumonia, the doctor says that no antibiotics needed, and I should take over the counter pain killers and caugh medicine containing codeine. One day later it got much worse. I couldnt even walk up the stairs and I am a young man. I went back, and another doctor took an x-ray. I did have a bad case of pneumonia. Very strong antibiotics were prescribed. I felt better only a week after, and fully recovered one month after taking the medication. What makes things worse-I was charged for both visits. I called the place and was given a run around. I sent a letter, and later spoke to the medical director. My first visit was taken off the bill, as I am still pissed at the original doctor. Not going to mention any names, but try to stay away from them.

Although the service is fine, and Ive had several positive experiences, I had one visit that has resulted in me spending TWO YEARS trying to pay them and dealing with collection agencies. I went in with a concussion, and they declined my medical credit card and insurance. (I have Highmark, top-of-the-line insurance.) When they later sent me a bill, I again, gave them financial information, and they neglected to tell me that it was declined. I found out that it was declined 9 MONTHS LATER when a collection agency contacted me. Even after personally making sure it was paid, I still am on the collection agencys radar. Ive spent all this time having my credit demolished because of their incompetence of reporting a payment. To say Im annoyed doesnt even begin to cover the frustration I have with this centers financial department.

By far the worst experience of my life. The Nurse manager Penny is a horribly ugly person and should have her license revoked. She is a disgrace to the medical community. Good job Delaware...lets just give everyone not worthy of a nursing license to such a disgustingly horrible person. Newark emergency should be embarrassed of them selves for having such a incompetent nurse working for them. THIS IS NOT A EDIT THIS ME STATING MY RIGHTS AS A CITIZEN OF THE U.S. You can call and threaten whoever you want but I will meet you in court and disgrace you. Back off now or I will take legal action against all involved. Understand the law before you try to preach it. This comment WILL NOT COME DOWN CAUSE IT IS MY SOCIAL MEDIA RIGHT. DONT THREATEN ME OR MY WIFE CAUSE IN TURN WE RECORD EVERYTHING.
