I had to visit this place the day I was flying back to Alaska from vacation. A couple days earlier I was in NC for a fly fishing trip and got a UTI. I went to the doctor in NC and was prescribed antibiotics for the UTI. While I was fishing I fell in the water and all of my medications were ruined, which are quite a few because I have fibromyalgia. I asked the doctor for enough medication to get me back to Alaska which should have been a day except I got stranded in Utah due to weather for three additional days. The doctor accused me of providing false information regarding my specialist in Alaska, having been diagnosed with a UTI two days prior and said I was also lying about being on my period. They would not give me any medication even though I had all of the medication bottles with the ruined medication inside. I had to go see another doctor in Utah because my plane was delayed for three additional days. Luckily, that doctor gave me the antibiotics and other medications that I needed to make it back to my actual doctor in Alaska. Today I called them to get them to run my insurance and they accused me of not having insurance at the time of my visit because in their system I was a "self pay." If possible, I always pay my medical visits in full then have my insurance company reimburse me. I have never been treated with such disrespect at a medical facility. This place literally accused me of making a fake appointment/business card for my spinal specialist. They refused to call the spine institute because they said I could have made the card and put a friends phone number on there because I could have been "doctor shopping." The owner of this place should be medicated because they are obviously paranoid and should have never decided to become a doctor because they obviously have no interest in helping people. The only positive thing I can say about this place is their nurse was extremely nice and showed compassion. The doctors bedside manner was atrocious. I honestly do not know how you stay in business. Just so everyone is aware, the non of the medications I asked for were narcotics.

I was in Bear DE for a for work and had been sick for two weeks. I was 1200 miles from my doctor so I looked up urgent care. This seemed like the closest urgent care to my hotel so I drove up. The nurses were awesome but the doctor was unprofessional and very rude. He asked me what medications I am on and when I answered with the weight loss drug Im taking, he asked if I was taking it under a doctors care. I replied I was and he then went on to ask if I was using any prescription pain meds as well. I replied no and that I was not here for the weight loss but I just wanted to feel better. He decided to prescribe antibiotics and an inhaler which is what I usually get for an ear infection. He asked me what pharmacy I take my prescriptions to and I replied that I dont live here and I dont have a regular pharmacy. He became very short with me and said they would send the prescriptions to the Walgreens a few doors down. I thanked him and walked down to Walgreens. Walgreens did not take my insurance so I walked back to his office hoping I could get the written prescriptions and I would get them filled somewhere close to my hotel. He was on the phone and I had to wait 20 minutes before he came out. I explained the situation and he asked me what pharmacy in Bear. I told him I think theres a Rite Aid close. He said whats the address? I told him I didnt have that information as I wasnt from the area and I again asked him for the written prescriptions. He refused stating that I had to give them a pharmacy and they would call them in. I told him I didnt have one and the nurse tried to step in and tell him I was from out of town. He very curtly told me that I was to provide an address and until I did he would not help me. He then turned around and walked off. I told his back that I had never heard of a doctor being unwilling to provide written prescriptions for antibiotics and nasal spray. The nurses apologized over and over. I had Rite Aid transfer the prescriptions but that was the worst interaction with a doctor Ive ever had.

I went to Doctors Express because I contracted a urinary tract infection, between the time my university health insurance ran out and my employment-based coverage began. I had experienced this health problem before, and knew what treatments worked well for me. I paid a fee up front, and an additional fee for some kind of preliminary in-house diagnostic analysis. I was told the analysis was inconclusive, and my urine must be sent to Quest; I could have antibiotics that day if I chose, but the test would still need to be run, and I would get the bill in the mail. I asked what the lab work would cost, and no one at the facility knew, or were able to find out. On the day my results were due, I called Doctors Express, and was told that my bacteria level was high, but lower than the clinical designation for an "infection;" however, since I was still having symptoms, the doctor would call in a prescription anyway. I had warned him that some antibiotics work better for me than others, and suggested Cipro, but he prescribed something else, and my infection came back shortly after I finished the dose. I called a doctor friend (which I had chosen not to do in order to be more responsible about my health, ha ha), who called in a Cipro prescription which cured me. A few weeks later, I got a large bill for the mandatory lab tests the Doctors Express doctor disregarded in order to prescribe me drugs that didnt work. Though I understand that financial considerations shouldnt determine what medical treatments a doctor chooses, if youre treating an uninsured patient, its naive to think that expensive medical bills will have no affect on other choices that impact health, so one should at least have an idea what theyll cost. Never again.

My girlfriend recently went to this clinic for intense stomach pains. She called me on the way to to tell me that she had to leave work because the pain had gotten so bad that she could no longer stay in the middle of our conversation her phone died. That was at 3:16 pm I had not heard from her since then. I left several messages for her to call me when she could with no luck. I assumed she would be home by the time I got home at 7 pm. When I got home the house was dark. I called Doctors express to see if my girlfriend had made it to their office today. They said that they couldnt tell me due to H.I.P.P.A laws. I explained the situation and that it would be worse if she never made it because something had happened. (i.e. she passed out at the wheel from pain )and they still wouldnt tell me. I subsequently had her sister call as she is a family member and they gave her the same bull. We never asked them to give any information about "the patient" or the ailment and still no simple yes or no if she had made it or not. Thank you Shannon and Michelle...I guess CYA is more important than the well being of your patients. I have called 3 hospitals in the area with no luck... I am freaking out I only recommend this place if you need to get birth control or an abortion without anyone knowing. Their sign should read: " Wont tell your loved ones even if you die"
