Valentines Day. Wife goes in for surgery. Surgical Department, pre-op, reception and waiting room staff are top-notch! Wonderful folks! But then things swiftly go downhill. Surgery was over at 1pm. Surgeon gave a full, thorough report. At 2, wife still in recovery. At 2:30 I inquired about status. Was told a room was being made ready, since my wife had to stay overnight. 3pm, comes and goes, then 3:30. Still nothing, still hadnt seen my wife. Finally at 4, I asked for yet another update, and if the room still wasnt ready, if I could at least see my wife. After all, it had been 3 hours since surgery was over. Anyway, I was told that a room had been assigned, and they gave me the room and bed number. However, my wife still had not been moved. I was allowed to go into the recovery area at 430. At 5, still not in a room, a very sweet young lady from admissions came in and asked us a battery of questions to speed up the process. Huh? 3 hours after the surgery? I had a bed number and a room and now this tap dance? Anyway, the nice lady gave us a 10 dollar gift certificate for the gift shop. Holy smoke, just like Christmas! A whole 10 bucks! Too cheap to be called "hush money" lol! Now its 6 pm. Yep, still not moved. 6:30. Was told room was ready and they were on their way to transport my wife. Thinking this was over, I Ieft for home to care for our pets, and asked my wife to call me once she was settled in her room. 7:15... Wife calls, distraught, very upset. Guess what? STILL not in a room!!! Finally, a glimmer of light. They take my wife to the room. Ah, but... Another patient was already in the room, and had 12, thats twelve visitors, some of which were sitting on the 2nd bed intended for my wife. Staff said that they now had to change the linens because those folks sat on the bed. Also, no divider curtain was in the room. So, here is a post-op patient, 7 hours after surgery, still not settled. My wife, at that point, "lost it". Cant imagine why (sarcasm). So the supervisor, with major attitude, says shed ask the visitors to leave and try to get a curtain put up. My wife told her that enough was enough and she wanted a private room. The witch of a supervisor told her that the doctor wanted her on this particular floor. My wife then said call the doctor. Met with further resistance, my post-op, in pain wife said that if they couldnt get their s&%t together shed rather just go home, at least that way she could rest. The supervisor then announced "get her discharge papers shes checking out". My wife responded, "im not checking out voluntarilly, your ineptness is forcing me to leave." The surgeon was contacted and had no problem with my wife being moved to a private room, albeit on a different floor. Finally. By 8:30 pm, she had her room. But wait folks, it isnt over yet! My wife, through out the evening, had to ask for soap, towels, a tooth brush, and had to wait a long time for everything. Then, the light wouldnt shut off! You cant make this stuff up! Some guy comes in, looks at the light, and says he cant figure out why it wont turn off. My 4 year old neice would know to take the bulb out! Obviously the "word" was out, eh? So, after a very long nite of no sleep, the morning shift came in and things overall got better. Doc said wife was cleared to go home at 7:30 am. I got there at 8. We finally were out the front door at 12:10. Moral? If you need surgery, you are in very capable hands. Once your surgery is over, well, maybe request a chaplain to bless you and ask your God for strength to get through the hell and torment you are about to endure.

First Ricky clay surgeon canceled my surgery that had been planned for weeks in advance a week before. If u want to raise ur family become a teacher not a doctor. ...Geisinger did get me another surgeon my mom dropped me off. That upset me from start. I was explaining my living will while waiting for my Atty to fax is over. That I didnt want dialysis a vent etc if anything went wrong. Ive had copd for 13 yrs and it hadnt been an easy life. Once its over ill b ok. They deemed,me,suicidal and canceled my surgery.Ive been sick for weeks w nausea and pain. It has prevented me from finding a job and going on dates. So I was really upset and had a few d Select words for surgeon Ryan horsley. I told them I would get a cab and leave they sent security after me and took me to psych part of Er. Their delegate couldnt determine if I was suicidal so I had to stay over night till saw psychiatrist who immediately released me. While in psych Er I a diabetic was fed two meals of pasta! My sugars were 286&296 they didnt test my sugar enough,or provide enough insulin. If horsley files charges on me for threatening him in my distress im filing criminal assault charges on the Er psych dept as they were negligent in their actions w my diabetic status ....I should have been taken to regular Er for monitoring of my sugar as sugar should b 70-100 mine was 180 when I got there at 6 am...

Awful experience. I waited five hours to be seen, and there was absolutely no communication between staff members. Every time the nurse came in, they asked if the doctor read my results and once i said no they had to look up my results. Not to mention one of the nurses had come in to tell me their intern was going to put in my IV because they didnt have time. When the intern came in the nurse left her completely unsupervised and now my arm where my IV was is swollen, red, bruised and painful. Ive had quite a few IVs in my past to know it shouldnt look or feel like this, and i called the hospital only for them to basically tell me its my problem and if i need to be seen id have to wait (probably another 5 hours). Worst hospital i have ever been to. Dont go there ,your just wasting your time. Its so hard to believe that some hospitals are like this. If i could have put these stars as negative I would have because that was my experience there.

As I sit here in the ER with my 5 yr old daughter for a repeat visit for almost the exact same thing shes been here for 2 other times already, I cannot help but notice the information I was given was incorrect. The info given "if its repeat visit, for the same or similar issue, be sure to let the front desk know so you get priority service. " Well, going on hour 2 and shes only had vitals taken, no meds given. Her temp is at almost 104 and I am livid at this point. This is almost an identical situation to the first time I brought her in. We waited 4 hours for her to be given any sort of treatment, 3 of those hours was in a room. This is not the way you do things. I used to have such high regard for this er because they were prompt, now I see it as a complete waste of time. Youd be better off going to readycare or urgent care, or perhaps taking your chances and staying home.
