STAY AWAY!! nurses are unprofessional, lack of sympathy, rude, and do not care about patients, attitudes everywhere - maintenance is a joke (was giving room with no working AC)- techs and nurses are not well trained (ended up with many bruises from them wiggling needles inside trying to get my veins). If I could give this hospital 0 stars, I would. This is a poorly ran hospital with poor quality staff. I went to emergency at 1am for a kidney stone pain. Once I got there, the nurse started me asking me questions when I was clearly in severe pain, asking for pain medication. They did not administer any pain medication or showed any concerned for pain, until I started vomiting. When my pain was under control, they took me for a mri and a urine culture. I NEVER saw the doctor, (Dr. Roberto Gines-name on prescription bottles) therefor I had to ask the nurse information about my test results. I have passed kidney stones before, so Im familiar with anything related. The nurse said I had no infection, and that I should pass the stone in 24 hrs, and gave me the prescriptions for pain meds. I asked for a medicine that dilates the urethra to help the stone pass; she said "some docs dont think that is necessary" She never asked the doctor, she spoke for him, when I never even met him. Went home after being 6 hrs in emergency. That night at home I got fever of 103F. Called my primary the next day, he said ER never called him, which that is normal protocol and the hospital already has my info from previous visits. He said I needed to go back to emergency because fever means infection. Went back to the hospital and got admitted. Turns out on my first visit to ER I had a minor infection, why was I sent home? or not seen by the doc? Complete neglect and irresponsibility. Once admitted, I had TERRIBLE nurses, supper unprofessional getting into my personal conversations, no sign of sympathy when I was in pain, and they always had attitudes. Some nurses work against each other and do not communicate well with changing shifts. When asked about tests results, one of the nurses told me I could not have them, all because he was lazy. They are not cooperative at all in telling you information about your situation and tests results. I feel bad for the few good nurses that took care of me that have to put up with this incompetence. I got a severe bruise on my hand because some of the techs kept moving the needle inside trying to get my vein - again no quality staff, not well trained. Some rooms did not have AC working. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE! Asking for maintenance was a waste of time, I had to demand a room change. STAY AWAY from this hospital. The facility seems beautiful but inside is a whole different story. The majority dont give a sh** about their job or the patients, and those that do are tied by the incompetence of this place. This is a joke for a hospital! It has the potential to be an amazing hospital, but there is a lack of responsibility and concern for the patients complaints and well being. I never write reviews, but this was a complete nightmare. This hospital needs a change in management and staff, and take complaints serious!

I read the reviews and most seem to be about the ER. I was there twice one day apart. Time 1: only one other person in the waiting room. Wait to get into the ER about 15 minutes. ER looked deserted. About a third of the beds were taken. Most of the ER personnel were around the nursing station chatting. I was there for a CT scan and blood culture. In a busy ER this would take about an hour. Mine took four hours. Doctor came into room in about an hour. The most annoying thing was the freezing temperature and nurse inattention. It had to be in the 50s inside. Time 2: returned to ER next evening very sick. Only one person in the waiting room. Wait to get into ER about 10 min. ER was about half full. Temperature was comfortable. Area was quiet because there were only two staff members in sight. They were polite and competent. X-rays and blood cultures were completed within a half-hour. Dr. came into room within 10 min. and appeared competent. I would rate my first experience a 1 out of 10 and my second experience a 9 out of 10 in comparison to four other hospital ERs Ive been to. Lets take a look at the ER physical plant. In doing this I will disregard the shabby look of the furnishings and focus on more important things. The rooms are tiny. By tiny I mean very little room to move about and very little room for the nurses to easily do anything in. I cant imagine being able to resuscitate in there a person whose heart stopped. There was no room to get equipment into the room. The easiest way to get a pillow is to scrounge around in the many empty rooms there and find one thats free. If you need a phone do the same as finding a pillow. Good luck if you get anything to eat or drink. After my first visit I figured that the rooms were as cold as a meat locker so if you happened to die you wouldnt smell too much before they found you. It is inexcusable that an ER that is not busy would have such a poor quality of service.

Do not go to this hospital. If youre having a true emergency, please go anywhere else. I wish I had -- West Boca provides much more adequate care. I went to the ER yesterday morning after my doctor advised me to because of high enzymes in my pancreas. The ER doctor that saw me wasnt friendly at all and everything took hours to do, even though there werent many other patients (it was only like 6:30 A.M. on a Tuesday). It took the tech 3 times to correctly draw blood. Once everything came back, the doctor didnt really tell me much but I was admitted. Once I finally got upstairs to a room, more problems arose. I had 8 or 9 doctors/specialists coming in and out of my room giving me different "opinions" and "ideas" about what my issue was. It changed every hour which confused me and made me extremely anxious, as if I wasnt already. They arent considerate of your feelings and you are the patient. This morning, I had two doctors come in and tell me that my CAT scan results were normal and "remarkable" (exact words). An hour or so later, a different doctor came in to tell me that the CAT scan showed gallstones in my gall bladder and they were trying to push gall bladder removal surgery on me immediately. I decided not to have the surgery because of the different opinions swarming around from all of the doctors that came in and out. I was confused and I no longer trusted this hospital or their staff. I felt that this was very unprofessional and not helpful in aiding my decision, which is why I have decided that if I do need the surgery after all, I will go elsewhere to have it administered. I dont trust Boca Regional one bit and I will not ever return. The only positive thing I can say about this facility is that the nurses that I had while staying there were extremely nice.
