Its been 16 years since Dr. Canton diagnosed with me with Hashimotos Thyroiditis. Unfortunately, I moved and because of that, I believe my thyroid is no longer working...at least thats what Im told. Dr. Canton was the first doc I saw and Thank God for him because most patients go through docs like tic tacs before they find one wholl check their thyroid instead of telling them they are aging, are depressed, or whatever. He was very kind, gentle, and I remember he listened intently to all of my symptoms. One symptom was extreme fatigue. I was a single parent at the time and let me tell you, it was hard working, and being a full time single parent of a 5 year old while I was going through all of this. Once I was on my medication I felt wonderful! Did I lose any weight, no...actually I gained weight and am still trying to get that off but in Dr. Cantons defense...I listened to much to others who told me that because I was diagnosed with this, I would gain weight and there was nothing much I could do about it. So for depression and self loathing...I turned to food. Now, Im having a big issue getting the 45 pounds I gained since that time (I am now 44...I was 28 when I was dxd.) but am trying to rid sugar from the diet along with processed foods. Ive found it DOES work but its extremely difficult and involves a lot of self discipline! But it CAN be done...and if I want it bad enough, Ill get off my butt and do it. Not sure whether or not Dr. Canton uses Bioidential Hormone Replacement for his Thyroid medication but even so, I find Synthroid to be the best medication Ive taken that is synthetic! Bottom line, even with medication...our thyroids run still at a very slow pace so as a thyroid sufferer, a bit more vitamins, exercise, low fat, complex carbs (green veggies) and low glycemic fruit (also high in antioxidants) like berries...seem to do the trick for me when I am disciplined. The hard part is making it a lifestyle! Good luck and if you have to wait 4 hours for him in his office...itll be worth your wait! :)

This was the worst new patient experience Ive ever had. I arrived 15 minutes early and had to wait over an hour and thirty minutes. At the time I wasnt feeling very well so it was a pretty agonizing experience to have to wait such an excessive amount of time to be seen. Then, when he finally came in he spent all of 5 minutes with me and because I have anxiety issues (which I had to repeat in the paperwork over and over) I didnt have the patience to even begin to explain any of my many issues, which were all written down on the paperwork, and of which only one he brought up. Then some lady came in and handed me some Rxs without any information whatsoever. I am well aware that is patient responsibility to ask questions, but frankly, I was so offended at this point that I just left. The nurses at the walk-in clinics Ive been to for the flu have exchanged more words with me than any of these people at this place. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

17 years Dr Canton has been my Doctor. The appointments do tend to run long but thats the price you pay when you have a doctor that will sit and listen to you. He will sit with you to develope a wellness plan and spend the time with you that many doctors wont. His office schedule is flexable with late hours on Tuesdays and also open every other Saturday. Many times if he has to prescribe medication he will send you out the door with whatever he prescribes with a few samples if he has them which helps tremendously in knowing before you fill the written prescription if it will work or if you have any challenges with the medicine he prescribes. On that note if you are looking for a doctor to write you a fist full of narcotics this is not the doctor for you, Dr Canton is a solution seeking Doctor with a degree in Osteopathic Medicine, not a pill pusher. Also, his payment method is cash or check only, to avoid the additional cost of using plastic.

I will DEFINITELY NOT be going back to him since there are DRs out there with much better staff. The staff here doesnt care about you, just your money. I do NOT recommend anyone going to him. Dr. Canton himself is a great guy, but dont miss an appointment, even if you are out of work and struggling but plan on coming back in even though you have no insurance. They wont help you if you miss an appointment. I have asthma, the nurse refuses to call in an inhaler script for me since I missed an appointment, even though I was going to schedule one for after I get paid from my new job. Also, the wait time is absolutely insane. If youre there for a 9am appt, you wont get called back until at least 10, then its another hour before the Dr comes in to the room. So pretty much plan to take an entire day off work to go to this doctor. HE is a nice dr, but his staff is terrible. God forbid I can actually breathe

I have had 4 appointments at this Doctors office. The experience has been consistent without change. I will say I was going to rate 1 star but I have to say that Dr. Canton himself is an AWESOME Doctor. He is very thorough, very nice and understanding and this earned another star. Most of my complaint is with the office and how the business is ran. All 4 times Ive been to this office with a scheduled appointment my wait to see the doc has always been at least 1 hour and 20 minutes. No joke. The last 3 times I actually went up front and told them I would have to reschedule and just leave if I wasnt seen in a timely manner. I waited. That didnt help. The other complaint is that this office does not accept any other payment method except cash. Its 2017. CASH ONLY IS UNACCEPTABLE. This makes using my Health Care Spending Account very difficult.

Dr. Canton is the first physician I have truly trusted since my childhood doctor. He is kind, compassionate, intelligent, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. I refuse to go to any other doctor. I have signed my whole family to this wonderful man. you can expect to wait longer than your scheduled appointment time, but it is only because he dedicates himself to you for as long as you need to talk to him. He is attentive and truly dedicated to his patients. All other practicing physicians should model themselves after this true professional! I truly trust him with not only my life, but the lives of my entire family. This should show everyone what a true asset he would be for you and your family.

I have been a patient here for a long time but he needs to take a step back and look how patients that have been loyal get rudely brushed off. I called today knowing it is a Saturday trying to get in and see did not even ask my name because if she would have she would see that I have been a patient over 10 years and hopefully tried to get me in but nope so this is the last straw I am over the rude employees and the long ass waiting period when you do get seen by Dr.Canton at lease 2 hours I have sat in one of his examing rooms everytime I go there. He is a Great Doctor but he needs to have someone call and see how RUDE the person answering his patients calls.i am going to find a new Doctor.
