Honestly Ive never been so mad at a doctor or dentist office before... 1. To start, I called to explain I am new to the area and needed a new dentist... the lady I spoke to was so rude I almost said forget but it turned out they had an appointment the day of and I need to be seen by a dentist asap for my WISDOM TEETH. Keep that in mind, WISDOM TEETH. 2. I call my old dentist to fax over a form so I can get my file transferred so I wouldnt need to take new x-rays since I just had some 3 weeks ago... 3. I leave my house with plenty of time to spare so that I can fill out my new patient paper work and be seen at my appointment time. I ask the woman about my form and she claims she "never got it" yet I confirmed with both my old dentist and Aspen Dental the fax number and it was correct, the woman from my old dentist said she will resend it. They never gave me the paper work that was faxed... 4. My appointment time comes, still no one calls me to be seen, 30 minutes to 45 minutes goes by after my appointment time to be seen and finally they call me back and all they really said was were busy today I had to over hear from another staff member that they were short handed. 5. Even though I didnt want new x-rays taken because Ive had way too many the past 6 months they took literally about 20 new x-rays, more than Ive never needed to be taken in a dental office before. 6. I get taken to the dental exam room and I wait 20 minutes for the dentist. He just looks in my mouth for literally a minute and then tells me I have a new cavity and tells me the Hygienist will be in shortly to look at my mouse. 7. Another 30 minutes goes by and then the Hygienist comes in, they asked when my last cleaning was (it was a month ago) and apparently even though I brush twice a day, floss once a day, and use mouth wash once a day and even though I saw my Hygienist a month ago for a 6 month cleaning between the month I some how now have gingivitis? I doubt this highly but whatever. 8. They bring me to the desk where the magic really happened: Where they tell you the price of everything. This is where the wisdom teeth come into play... I got told I needed "so much work" that it will cost me after insurance $4,700 BEFORE MY WISDOM TEETH BECAUSE THEY DONT DO WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTIONS THERE TYPICALLY. 9. The woman at the desk told me that none of this was optional and it all had to be done. Im sorry but unless theyre paying for it, yeah it is all optional because Im a student and dont have enough money to out right pay about $6,000 after my wisdom teeth. They couldnt even quote me on what I came in for. I really dont think Ill be coming back here to be quite honest.

I walked in there at 9:00 am for my first time examination. I actually arrived 15 minutes early, but I saw the hours on the door - 9:00am to 5:00pm. I did not want to be rude and enter before they officially opened. When I entered I realized that I was the only one in the waiting area at the time and headed for the front desk. I stood there for a good 5 minutes. There was plenty of people (about 5-6 people) behind the front desk to address me. I made eye contact with two of them and even smiled and waived just to be completely ignored. They didnt even ask if I was lost. About ten minutes in now, a couple walked in and came up to the front desk to sign in and immediately they were addressed and taken care of. Still ignored, I then waited another 5 minutes. I waived and smiled again and finally got someones attention. They checked their appointments and saw that I had one scheduled for 9:00 am. As someone was helping me with my appointment after being ignored for 15-20 minutes, I am ashamed to say I played the "race card," and asked whether or not they had much black patients (the couple that was helped immediately were caucasian, and being black I had my experiences). They gave me all the "new patient" forms to fill out and I took them, sat down, and gave some thought. I thought to myself - "This dentist and I already started out on a bad foot and I do not want to continue any prospective dental treatment with people like this." I walked right back up to the counter and gave the forms back and told them I would just find another dentist. Apparently, I was doing us BOTH a favor. I told the person, whom I gave the forms back, that I didnt feel comfortable here, and Im assuming they didnt want me there either. Its already difficult being an African-American male living in Fort Myers, FL. Every where I go I get looks from people as if I do not belong. I am sorry, although I have had my experiences, I was never really accustomed to racial discrimination growing up in a military family. As soon as I walked into Aspen Dental I did not feel welcomed at all; not one bit. Some would laugh and say racial discrimination is dead, but that is very false. Im not accusing Aspen Dental to be racist, but they definitely gave that impression. Aspen Dental of Cleveland Avenue apparently gives that attitude as if they are better than you; they are very haughty and prideful. Im sorry I did not meet their cardinal criteria of people they approve of. My apologizes.

Gave 1 start because had no choice. DO NOT GO THIS PLACE ! Aspen Dental DESTROYED ME PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY. And corporate doesnt even care, They need to be shut down. For 1 year now i have had an infection, was told i had bone loss as i see others have been told. I live in pain everyday, I was told 3 teeth had to be pulled that there was no other option for me, the doctor ended up pulling 6 of my teeth out, i was devastated i was treated awful in there, it was like being slowly tortured. I went back with a bad infection the Doctor was so rude and didnt even bother to look at me. I received bills which i have paid cash for what was supposed to be done (gets even better) when i went there I was told the office manager Mariela was no longer there and she took files and they still wanted me to pay even for work i never wanted or agreed on doing. Since then and having fear of going to dentist now, I was in so much pain i went to 2 different dentist both told me i have No Bone Loss! One dentist told me Aspen is in the business of selling dentures and thats why they do this, this doctor suggested i get my files and xrays .. So i did and the day i went to pick all xrays and what was left of files I noticed all new staff, the woman at the Desk was trying to sell me to another doctor there (No Thanks) she told me the doctor who destroyed my mouth doesnt work at that office anymore. Now i need to have surgery where they have to cut my almost 3 inches long do to bone fragments & root that was left in my mouth was also told that the infection i have can not wait and could be very dangerous. I donthave the money for this surgery and to fix all the damage that was done. I call corporate spoke to.a woman Julie who told me a woman Tricia would call me back and she never did.. Since i was even received a call back I guess Im left no choice to take legal action just to fix the mess Aspen Dental did to my mouth. Aspen does not care about people, all they care about is pulling your teeth out so they can sell you dentures that you dont need. I cried when other dentist told me those teeth were wrongfully pulled and i have no bone loss like i was told. Im glad i have my xrays from Aspen Dental proof. They have destroyed my face and my life, I still cry everyday over this.
