I chose this rehab facility based on location. I wonder if that was a wise decision. My mom was in there for a month to rehab from a broken hip. The facilities seem fine and clean, but unfortunately parking there is quite a problem. If you go other than very early or late in the evening, every parking space and scrap of curb has been taken. Be careful if you park at a nearby businesses because signs warn that they tow, but access after hours is easy enough. One thing I did not like was when I asked about my moms physical therapy, they said she was doing good or doing fine. I wanted her to show me her walking ability with the walker but she said that she was not supposed to unless she was with the physical therapist. Now that the insurance company has deemed her rehabilitated, I find that she can barely walk unaided. They have a nice inner courtyard that I wheeled my mom to in her wheelchair a few times for a change of scenery, but there is no place to sit except for a small gazebo/pavilion which was occupied by employees on their smoke break, so we had to head out to the rocking chairs out front and stare at the parking lot. The staff seemed fine to me and my mom, but they did frequently bring her orange juice and oatmeal for breakfast despite her telling them the OJ upset her stomach and she did not like oatmeal. My final area of disappointment with the facility is that Physical Therapy and Home Health Services were supposedly ordered upon my moms discharge to start immediately. I cannot get calls returned to find out why so much time has gone by without the therapy and assistance my mom needs. Its very difficult to communicate with these people. You call, you get a voice mail message telling you to leave a message, then it tells you that the service is not available and no message was left. I could understand an temporary glitch in the system, but I have encountered this continually over a month. I have also received a message from someone in the office about a billing question. I have also had the problem of calling and asking for a particular extension of someone that left me a message. I call back and they cannot seem to figure out to whom you want to talk even though I supply a first name and extension.

Lake Mary Health and Rehabilitation Center should be shut down. We had to pull our family member out of there and put them in a better place. Our family member is now doing much better. The nurses and CNAs there are terrible. Elderly patients sitting in urine soaked beds and feces soiled pants. Employees smoking cigarettes at the entrances. Residents crying out for help, while CNAs sit scrolling on their cell phones, not caring. The nurses there are so incompetent, rude and uncaring, with only one year of nursing school, if that. Residents and patients look very tired and unkept. Staff keep them wheelchair bound and restrained. The food there is not even fit for animals. Our loved one was only there for 4 days, after we noticed a severe decline from the lack of care there. We immediately became proactive and took them out of there. Other facilities are aware of the terrible reputation of this dump. We will be filing a complaint and taking action on this facilities negligence. This place needs to be closed. Stay far away.

Do NOT bring your loved ones to this facility for any reason!! Find another route...Find another facility. This place is AWFUL!! Lake Mary Health and Rehabilitation has nothing to do with Health or Rehabilitation whatsoever...This is a place to store bodies so that Consulate Health Care can watch their stock rise. And they should be ashamed of themselves. This facility is all that is wrong with for profit medicine. ....But hey..all that matters to them is keeping those 120 beds full for "Maximum Profits" After two days in this facility..We got my father out of there!! Read the other reviews!! Stay away from this dump!! The reviews are TRUE.. Also notice their canned corporate responses to the other reviews....Total BS...If you gave as much of a damn about your patients..and WHY you are there as you do about bottom line profits...those reviews would be different.....and you would not have to give canned corporate responses. Shame on all of you!!! Do NOT take loved ones here!!! Make Consulate Health Care Responsible!!!

I would give them ZERO stars if it would allow. My loved one ended in the hospital from there, and still remains because of this facility neglect and lack of care for patients. The worst place on earth. DO NOT send your loved ones there, they will be abused, and neglected. Lazy, incompetent staff. Ignores the needs of the elderly, and would rather drug them to keep them quite than see what their needs are. Terrible LPNs, bottom of the barrel that hospitals wont hire. CNAs that sit on their cell phones all night instead of tending to the the patient needs. Most stsff stand outside at night at their side entrance and smoke cigarettes, then come into patient rooms reeking like smoke. The food there is the lowest quality, processed ever. EMTs always being sent there to pick of residents to take to the hospital because of neglect. I cant even believe this place is allowed to still be open. AHCA has been notified, and many complaints filed. Stay FAR AWAY from this place. The WORST experience ever.

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! They have zero communication skills. Do not know how to read a chart and are just plain lazy. My grandmother has lost 15 lbs since she has been there because they did not give her enough time to eat (she needs assitance with eating). Sometimes they do not even bring it. Myself and my family now go in to feed her. She is supposed to be in restorative eating- which they say is 7 days a week. Its not. They have lost all of her clothes. We were told we needed to call laundry ourselves and no one answered or called back. The nurses and cnas never know anything when we ask about her progress. We have called everyone who is of importance and either they tell us to call someone else or no answers/calls back. For fear of being too detailed and them treating her worse as a result, I will stop now. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL not even the slightest.

My father-in-law was here twice in the last 4 years. Once for less than 12 hours-they left him in his room, after he came, for 6 hours without his ordered oxygen and never checked on him until we started yelling for a nurse who appeared very put out. The next time he only came here because everyone decent was full when he was discharged from the hospital. We had to fight to get him discharged even though they werent doing anything for him, they blocked a transfer to another facility and refused to walk him because he has a history of falls when not assisted. The food is terrible, he lost 10# in 3 weeks. Call lights went unanswered. The CNAs were rude. The nurses were kind, this last time and the facility is clean, but it takes more than that to provide good care.

Absolutely horrible!!!!! Trust me, the other bad reviews are accurate!!! My mother was supposed to stay here for a month and I removed her after three days because the mistakes they made were more than I can count. She lives in a very nice assisted living center and Ive spoken to many people there who were also at LMR, all of which had equally horrible experiences!! Not safe!!! Especially for elderly or at risk. Two people said they or their loved ones were nearly killed there. I did meet two nice people who worked there though, her physical therapist and here social counselor and I think both of them were embarrassed to be working there. I hope they find a better place to work.
