This could have been , or be, a possible negligence in hiring. This is where , clearly, the rule for BFOQ would need to apply for these positions who work with youth in this setting. This is under a need for security and privacy and your HR team dropped the ball. You guys need to revisit the hiring process and reevaluate statistical data for anyone being in this position, this includes all important testing around mental and competency. If this is not already done, then a higher level of psychological testing is also clearly needed. While some may say this opens up subjective hiring as these behavioral tests may inadvertently cause disparate treatment. Just resolve this with HR ALL analytics using a diverse selection committee to scrutinize all data and be sure to run a content validity test. You want to be safe and not sorry and it will be in the best interest of you stakeholders (children and key players). You have a high duty to ensure those kids are well taken care of ,in a stable environment, able to engage to apply valuable knowledge (not just regurgitate either) . America has a been problem with the education system and many kids just check out, stop underestimating their awareness. Do better and get it together. I can only imagine, based on this foolish and selfish serial killer how much he really valued those kids or even if he had any sense of purpose from his job. Clearly you need major changes in your organizational culture , and that includes from top level. Thanks

No experience. They hired a man that clearly is unstable to handle the youth that is unstable. Such a tragic Easter thanks to the man they hired, but anyone saying they are not to blame! Keep in mind that he did accuse them responsible for these murders. I hope he is wrong, and hope that justice is served to everyone. Thank the lord that no children were hurt.
