I took my 4 1/2 yrs. old dog here on Monday July 6, 2015. He had an odor to him that smelled like an infection, his lymph nodes in his neck, chest & hind legs were swollen to the size of a golf ball, he was having trouble breathing & his sight. He had lost 2 lbs which was 20% of his total weight. This all came on within a matter of days. Dr Stephanie Garrett seen him, she at first also thought it was an infection as well due to his age. She did a blood test (they do it right there in the office) she came back and said it may be lymphoma because his lymphocyte were in the 160 uL range when they should be in the 5-14 u/L range. Other things were way of the charts as well. So she did a needle biopsy on all the areas with the swollen lymph nodes. On Wednesday July 8th she called me back and told me he for sure has lymphoma. I had already research it online and found out if a dog has to get cancer then lymphoma was the best one to get because the long term prognosis is the best when they receive chemo. She asked me if I wanted to do chemo or just prednisone which would help a little but he wouldnt live past a few months with that alone. I told her chemo without a doubt, and boy did I make the right choice. She scheduled him to come in on Friday July 10th to get his first one. He is on the Madison-Wisconsin protocol, which he went every Friday for 2 months, now he has to go every other Friday for 2 months then only once a month for 2 months. The cost is very reasonable it ranges between $70-$160, Two of the weeks it is $155 then one is $70, then one is $162. They rotate four different drugs every time he goes. The price does vary depending on the size of the animal. Not by much though only a few dollars. If you have insurance they will pay for it. Unfortunately, I had just switched insurances for him and the day he was diagnosed was the effective date so it wasnt covered because he contracted it before the effective date. I didnt care my baby is worth every penny. When I told Dr. Garrett she freed all the recheck exams for me which totally helped me out. I had just gotten him certified as my service dog in March. Words just cant express how much it means to me or to thank Dr Garrett (with input from Dr Amy Huff) & all the staff for everything they have done for my sweet baby & myself. They call him their success hero, because he is doing so very well. He has had zero side effects except for twice he felt a little nauseous, but she gave me meds to help with that, he is totally cancer free and doing great. Also, Dr Garrett talked to me every time after the chemo and explained everything to me regarding his blood work, and how he tolerated the chemo and she gave me a chance to ask any questions I had. If I forgot to ask a question when I was there all I had to do was call her and she would talk right then or call me back as soon as she could, usually within an hour. Just one thing I want to tell you, if God forbid you have to go through this, Please keep positive and DO NOT change your pets routine, if you treat them like they are sick they will act like it. I kept his routine the same, taking him on his 2-3 walks a day. Played with him and feed him normal. Dont baby them and not let them do what they have always done. They will let you know if they cant do something. He went on his walks but sometimes in the beginning he wanted to cut them short. I let him decide, not me. He also loves going for a ride on the golf cart. God, prayers & Dr Garrett helped us so very, very much. God Bless her and the staff here at the Animal Clinic of Leesburg, Florida.

Weve been using Animal Clinic of Leesburg for more than 15 years for our pets and also an emergency surgery on a friends injured dog, and have never been happier with the care and attention we receive. The prices are substantially lower than other area clinics and the care is unsurpassed. From the moment we arrive at the office, were treated courteously and promptly. The staff, handling billing, busy phones and frantic owners, are always friendly and ready to address our needs and concerns. Dr. Huff and Dr. Allen are outstanding vets, taking the time to be sure our cats (one of whom is a complete terror...wait, thats two...) are well treated and our questions answered.Their professionalism is unparalleled and this is by far the best vet clinic weve ever used. We plan on staying with them as long as we have pets. Most importantly, the compassion and care of these vets has carried us through some difficult moments and their handling of those moments have made us loyal clients. During the time our friends dog was taken in by us after a near-fatal attack by another dog, we were given access to the dog any time the office was open, and during the night and on weekends, a staff member stayed at the clinic to oversee the animals in their care. We were encouraged to pop in anytime to visit Jesse James, and pet him and talk to him to keep him engaged. We were often in their way, kneeling in front of his cage, as they tried to work but were never made to feel that we were anything but welcome. That kind of care and involvement from our veterinarian is priceless to us, and we want to thank the entire staff.

DO NOT GO HERE. I took my dog here for a surgery after he was at the Leesburg Emergency Hospital for 2 days. We went in right away in the morning and was greeted with poor customer service to begin with. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. We put that aside because my dog was in extreme need for this surgery. During the day of his surgery we called 3 times for an estimate of the final bill and was told we would be called back before the end of the day. Around 6 pm we went to the clinic because we received no phone call back and turns out everyone went home. The next day we go back to have a visit with our dog after his surgery and was once again greeted by unprofessional customer service. We soon found out that all the animals in the clinic are left alone all night from close until morning. The nurse said my dog "took out the catheter by himself" so it must have been when he was unattended after his surgery for so long. Then they tried to charge us for a stone analysis when they didnt even do a stone analysis, a 130$ ripoff. The doctor their is very nice but the rest of the staff made it a very unpleasurable experience. I will never take my dog their again, I would much rather pay an extra 100-200$ for good care at the emergency vet then to leave him with this extremely mediocre and unprofessional staff.

Just a person Honestly
I have a Jack Russell with severe skin problems that I have been battling all her life. Recently it got much worse so I took her to my vet and the treatment was not helping but they wouldnt do anything different....just kept throwing the same ineffective medicines at her. She was miserable. I finally took her to Dr. Huff. I was extremely impressed with their office. They were busy and not overly friendly at the desk but with the amount of people they were processing, this was understandable. Dr. Huff was brisk, efficient, and approachable. She listened, examined and gave her opinion on what my dog needed. When the test results came back a few days later, she personally called me and we discussed the options. I was made to feel like a part of the decision. I appreciate that. I returned to the office to pick up the meds needed to clear up the skin problems and the staff was more relaxed and friendly because the office was busy but not swamped like on my first visit. The staff is well organized. They made me feel very comfortable during my wait. My Mollie has been on her meds for about a week now and she is doing so much better. It is good to see her happy again. Thank you Animal Clinic of Leesburg. I will be returning with my other dogs soon.
