I will like to start with.Im still In Shock over the bedside manner or this facility.I have a 2 yr 3mnths old Red Heeled Guard Dog.Trained to verbal cues, sign language, and is fully trained in his agility skills.A very well behaved boy too.I my self, had been recommended this breed from my Judge in Texas after going through a very violent, abusive, attempts on my life from my ex husband. So, we researched the breed, then met with several breeders before Sagee Babee chose me as his two legger to protect.Never had any special request from his previous Vet.In Amarillo Texas. She was truly an amazing compassionate doctor. Now, relocated to Florida after finally having some down time from my bridal designs and cleaning business.I was recommended this Vets. Office.I went in with my sister to met with them.I had told them I had a trained guard red heeler.I only received a business card and was told to set up an appointment. And, so I did.Their appointment setter called me back saying,I could receive a free bath for my dog if,I dropped him off.I thanked her bt, explained my Dog isnt dropped off anywhere, hes my guard dog.Bt, I thanked her.She said, my Vet from Amarillo still hadnt faxed over the info. And my sisters visit she ddnt see on the schedule.Because I had wanted to schedule my Dog in with hers.Bt, as it turned out I had to schedule him seperate. So, we arrived Today, Saturday for his first visit. We were told the fax had still not arrived. We gave them the number to call in Amarillo for the faxing .Then we had to wait.Well,1 hour went by.And Sagee met several Dogs and people.I cued him to stay and that its alright. He did, amazing as always hes very intuitive as well. So, another hour goes by.And, the Ladies at the Desk said, they were sorry for the wait,as they had an emergency. So,we waited 35 more minutes. Then ,a vet tech.(female)came up to us and, called Sage.By the way she approached us,she camed up very close to me and Sage, without asking if he was socialable ,I was a Lil concerned. He gave a,warning grawl. And, stood between she and I.I said, thats us.Bt, please allow me to introduce you to my Dog first please. She said, sure.I kneeled and had her kneel,I touched her wrist and told Sagee its okay shes ok...Then, Sage smelled her ,I repeated shes ok,and touched once more. And, gave him the sign for that. Then, she stood and said, she would need to get his room ready,as we should have told them I had brought a guard dog in.Then 15 minutes later, Another Vet.Tech (male).came out asking for Sage.I told him the same. Bt, he ddnt approach me he stood near the room waiting for us to walk to him.So ,I took Sage in the Room and explained. after,I was in closer area to the man Sage gave his warning grawl again, as He usually does.Told him,He was my guard Dog and explained why & I could introduce him. Then, once he smells you things will be okay. Then, The tech. said sure he had no problem with this. So, i introduced Sage the same way again. As the first tech.same sign language and verbal. Then, Sage was fine.We discussed his shots ,chipping, and other medical issues I wanted addressed. He said, he,was fine with it.I explained I was okay if they needed to mussel Sage, even though it was never needed at his other vets in Amarillo. He said, hed have to check over with the Doctor there as he wasnt from their establishment. I said, okay. We waited another 10 minutes. And, the door swung open & A man walked in telling me hed have to separate me from my Dog as he was the doctor, I said hmmm.im not sure how I feel about it that as my Dog had grawl, bt was still in sitting heel mode.I gave the cue.He stopped. And, I tried to explain to the Doctor, anyone working on Sage would need to be introduced, I tried to explain. He was in a defensive stance, I was appalled at his responce.Im not kneeling to his level Im alpha, and any dog in here has to know that we,are alpha,as he wasnt going to have any of his employees or his self bit.I told him.We d have to talk it over ,and thanks him for him time.Never will I return to this place.

I will never go back to this establishment again. Today my girlfriend took my cat to a different vet to find out his lungs were the size of golf balls and filled with fluid. He would have not survived the night. She recently got bloodwork done and an exam here with Dr. Greer and was told that his lungs sounded clear and that they still had not figured out the cause of his coughing and collapsed lung. Also, she did not receive the results of the blood work until 2 weeks later and it wasnt even the original Dr who did the bloodwork who called her. The result had no findings. Prior to that visit, she had spent almost $600 on X-rays and bloodwork to just get medication that at this time, isnt providing any positive effects. If she hadnt taken him elsewhere, he would not have made it through the night tonight nor would she had received news on why these issues are happening. Again, avoid taking your pets here if you want results and not spend every penny getting them. She will be trying to get her money back for mistreatment of our cat. I strongly hope they change their views of veterinary practice because all they care about is money. I spent $300 on my visit tonight at the other clinic and got more answers than I received in two major visits.

Love River Oaks! My family and I have been bringing our animals to them for 10+ years. I had a cat when I was in Jacksonville that fell very ill - my vet up there couldnt tell me anything other than it might just be easier to put her down (this was after spending $2k on his services). Brought her to Dr. Greer and he was able to tell me what was wrong with her after having her there for one day. When I ended up having to put her down, I traveled back down here for it and Im so glad I did - they were so caring and let me have all the time I needed to say goodbye, not pushy or rude. We currently take our dog, cat, and ferret to River Oaks and have had excellent service with our little fur family. They have a veterinarian there (her name escapes me!) that is skilled with a range of animals, and their front desk staff is always so cheerful and welcoming. We recommend River Oaks to all of our friends and family!

Dr. Greer, Annie, and Sim did a wonderful job of caring for our 9-year-old Pekingese, Luna. Luna had a number of procedures over a nine-day span, including dental cleaning & extraction; removal of a few irritating eyelashes; removal of two small cysts; and a series of thirteen cold laser treatments. Everyone was extremely professional and caring toward our pet. I change job locations every 1-3 years, so weve seen many vet clinics. My wife is a terrific judge of veterinary practices; if she perceives that the staff does not truly love animals, she takes our business elsewhere. River Oaks excellent staff has earned our loyalty for life. From the facilitys cleanliness to well-established treatment protocols to reasonable pricing--this practice has it all. We highly recommend bringing your pet to these professionals.

I have been dealing with chronic sinusitis in my 4 year old Maine Coon cat for the past 9 months. We have done everything medically possible including cat scans and nasal flushes with the specialist. After speaking with Dr. Greer he suggested allergy testing and a series of cold laser treatments which has given us some remarkable results! Over the past two weeks we saw remarkable improvement with each treatment. After 9 long months my poor cat can breath again and has regained her previous playful personality. Dr. Greer and his staff are so compassionate and knowledgeable and although these treatments may be considered alternative medicine we were ready to try anything and I am so glad we did! I am now a believer and the results speak for themselves.
