I had Lasik performed (last Tuesday) by Dr. Spektor and his excellent team. I was well prepared going in, and the procedure was painless and quick. Recovery was very fast and very easy! I had some tearing that stung a bit in the first few hours after the numbing drops wore off, but it was very mild and cleared up around 5 hours after the procedure. In total there were maybe 2 hours or so of mild unpleasantness - I was given some anesthetic drops to use if I felt I needed them, but I never did. Dr. Spektor called to see how I was doing that evening, and I was already seeing better than I ever thought possible! I had the occasional bit of blurriness for the first few days, as well as some light halos. I was fully prepared for these symptoms, and theyve steadily cleared up. Im generally an anxious guy when it comes to anything medical, but for me every part of this experience was simple, quick, and easy right down to the parking! Dr. Spektor has seen multiple generations of my family, and I would absolutely encourage anyone considering vision correction to set an appointment to see him. Hes an exceptional doctor, his staff are superb, and the Center for Excellence in Eye is a wonderful facility. Well deserved 5/5.

Called after hours on a Friday because I was seeing floaters with intermittent flashes of light. A good friend in the industry (not a doctor) advised me to be seen by an opthamologist asap because I am diabetic. I left a message on the "emergency" line only to receive a call back by an obviously annoyed woman who asked me two questions: Are you a patient here I responded not sure and she then asked is this really an emergency, cut me off tersely and gave me the number to Bascom Palmer stating they are better suited for me. I had more questions, but she flippantly mumbled something and hung up. I dont necessarily expect Presidential treatment, but a little patience and compassion would have been appreciated. Im not sure what is happening with my eyes and instead of being reassured and offered care, I was treated as a bother (this center was reccommended to me by other industry professionals) I now have to wait until Monday to be seen somewhere else. I will not recommend my or any of my extended family or vast network have any eye care needs taken care of at this center. Future reference being dismissive lacks humanity. Excellence is in your name. Be that.

I am pleased with my Doctor and the overall experience - HOWEVER the people "selling" the glasses are a different story (!) the person must have been a trainee and i watched her clumsily adjusting my frames which broke in one week at the point of adjustment - the glasses were of cheap construction perhaps, bend them and they are vulnerable - brought them back, they replaced them. BUT I should have listened to my wife (!) and gone to Walmart - Curiously I bought two more pairs of glasses (Prescription sunglasses) at the "W" for 1/4th of the price - conclusion: use their Opthalmoligists, but get the glasses elsewhere. the price differential was amazing. Called this AM for an appt. and gave up after a long wait - Ill just try later, no big deal, but they are NOT the source for the hardware!! G.R.Derman

SEVERAL VISITS .I can honestly say ,I would refer a friend. my first visit was to treat a eye cyst ,it was surgically removed without complication or scar by Dr Lee.Several yrs later ,I needed an Eye exam,I had not had one in quite some time. Dr Trattler Sr ,saw me and in the process diagnosed a condition that if not treated could have been critical.. After treating and finding out ,it needed to be redone .He referred me to Dr Colon who he felt would be the right person for the job. Am quite satisfied. As always consumer beware, your best defense is to ask questions beforehand and be educated .Its your health

Trattler and Eisner are good...lenses are fine but it was a mistake to buy my glasses there. First the prescription was wrong and I didnt have time to leave them for a week to get correct ones made. I needed my glasses. I swore I would not get anti reflective lenses again but they convinced me. After a year I went in to complain that they were smearing and the coating was wearing off. I was told they only last a year and I should be replacing my glassess annually. $400-600 annually? Ill still go to the opthamologist but not for glasses. The staff are super nice!!

The center is a money making factory. First encounter and foremost you must pay your copayment no exceptions. I had an eye infection and in my hurry to leave the house I forgot my wallet. I had to virtually beg to be seen; even though Ive been a patient since 2007 and owe the Center ZERO money. Then the second part was being able to have the prescription filled. The ordered eyes drops which my insurance did not cover, twice. I left voice mail messages because the place is so huge no answers the phone. STAY AWAY GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

Dr. William Trattlers assistant, Elizabeth, should be commended for a very thorough briefing about the care required and preparation necessary for future cataract surgery. She took the mystery out of the procedure, and made me comfortable with the decisions I have to make. She also did a very thorough examination of my eyes to check the pressure and to determine if a new prescription for glasses was necessary. She is obviously a great asset to the office! Barrie T. Very professional people.Btw Simon did my eye surg when i was a kid my grandma always spoke highly of him so i went back 20 yes later and thats how i was treated. Thanks alot!

While cataract surgery has become routine, the patient’s participation is still needed for a successful result. Dr, Frank Spektor, and his team, made every step of the process, from first visit, through surgery, and post-op, easy to understand with written instructions and contact phone numbers. At every visit, I was encouraged to call with questions, and, when I did call, I received straightforward answers. I couldn’t be happier with my results.

Terrible administration staff, but the worst is Dr. Gabay, who is an absolute disaster and only thinking in the $$$$. All the work is done by the assistants beforehand and then he comes at the end, asks you if you want an examination ("no, Dr, I came here to get a recipe for blintzes"), reads their notes and tells you "You have cataracts", which you already know, so he can write a diagnosis and get the $ from the insurance. A joke.

Awful. The prescription I got was worse than what I had. The prices are 2-3 times what you would pay elsewhere and the service is mass production. After having two pairs of glasses made that were unusable and having to go to a competent optometrist for a good prescription (at half the price with better equipment and no dilation) they still insist on billing for the service or lack thereof.
