No existen palabras para expresar mi agradecimiento ante la humanidad y la profesionalidad del doctor mark spence y su equipo , en especial de una señora maravillosa que en el peor momento de toda mi vida me tomaba de la mano y me daba aliento hasta el último instante , su nombre es Bernalis Valera . Las palabras son muy pocas e insignificantes para describir lo que se siente cuando un medico y una enfermera no te sueltan ni un minuto desde el momento de tu llegada hasta el instante de tu salida , jamás vi algo igual , no pudo Dios poner en mejores manos mi vida en esos momentos , quisiera q fueran reconocidos ambos como lo que son , dos excelentes profesionales que son aún más humanos en medio de su trabajo , quisiera agradecer desde el fondo de mi corazón todo lo que han hecho por mi y además de públicamente reconocerlo haré una carta formal para enviarla a las instituciones pertinentes y que todos sepan de su valía y de la capacidad que han tenido ante la edversidad de una madre destrozada q ellos sacaron adelante con amor y respeto en todo momento . Doctor Mark Spence y enfermera Biernalis Valera muchas gracias y que Dios los bendiga siempre . Gracias de parte de toda mi familia a la que también apoyaron y dieron la mano cada segundo . Definitely the worst experience a pregnant woman can have. Starting from the stuff in this office. The lady at the appointment is always rude. I was going to mount sainai when I had my private insurance, once I got my Medicaid i changed here to this ugly hole bc my neighbor recommended to me Dr. Mark Spence. The first day I came in to the office I asked the lady if Dr. Spence was accepting new patients, that I was coming specifically for him as my doctor, she said yes not a problem. I came in that day and I did saw Dr. Spencer; great doctor I most say. At my third visit I asked where doctor Spencer was bc I came as his patient and never saw him again. I was answered that it was going to be very weird for me to see him bc he is usually at deliveries. Well, yes, exactly what you guys are thinking they lied to me and became a patient at this crappy, disgusting, dirty, getto office, but my experience doesnt end end here. I will number you all of the bad things happened to me. 1. I came one day to my appointment and there was no providors (doctors) the rude lady insisted she called me to let me know but she didnt. 2. At my 4 months they did 4 blood exams one of them was to determine the sex. Two of the exams didnt came out. They excuse was that I was not hidratated enough. 3. The nurse put on my file that I was a surrogates mother. 4. I called to find out the sex of my babe by the time they said it was ready. The rude blonde curly hair lady at the phone said I had to come in that they cannot tell me over the phone. They made me wait two hours to tell me they do not have my results. That I have to do then again. 5. They did the exams a month after. Yes imagine readers a pregnant woman doing the exams supposed to be done by the 4 month on the 5 1/2 months. 6. Nurse Debbie took my blood and she hurt my arms, she was not gentle at all. My arm was with bruse and hurting for 5 days. 7. I tried to change back to mount Sinai but they no longer accepted my insurance bc I chose one for this disgusting place. And I was advanced in my pregnancy no other doctor will take me they said. I asked them to always give me appointment for the same doctor, guess what it never happened. 8. Every visit they give you appointment but the waiting is from 1-2 hours. So people DO NOT COME HERE RO THIS PLACE MARK SPENCER YOU WONT SEE ONLY HIS MAME AT THE DOOR AND THE STUFF IS RUDE AND CARELLES. THEY TREAT PATIENTS AS COWS OR A PIECE OF MEAT. AND IF YOU SEE PREGNANT YOU REALLY WANT AND NEED SOMEONE TO CARE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR BABY , YPU WANT FIND THAT HERE.

Dr Spence has been the best Doctor I have ever come across. He has a wealth of medical knowledge based on his vast experience and puts the mind at ease with his humane and understanding attitude. His passion in his work strikes you from the very first interaction and you know that you are in safe hands with him. My wife and I got faulty advice from an OB and were under immense stress, contemplating the possibility of an induced cesarean delivery (the OB even got us to write a consent waiving off her responsibility). We met Dr Spence at that time to get a second opinion and the labor started while we were at his office. His approach of making sure that we had a safe (and normal) delivery of our child was fantastic. Unlike some other OBs (and we definitely speak from experience), he doesnt make decisions governed by commercial reasons and gives the right advice at every moment. Taking so much stress away from the delivery and ensuring the safety of mother and child at all times is priceless. I am very surprised to see bad reviews about his staff here because to us they were very professional and warm. He is a very busy Doctor (which comes with the being the best part) and as a result one has to wait a bit usually for his consult. Also, he practices only in North Shore Medical Centre, which is a very good hospital but may not be the most luxurious. However, these are not even points worth thinking about when it comes to getting his help with the delivery. If you want the best OB for your childbirth, engage Dr Spence. Period.

This is my first pregnancy and I had a terrible experience with a midwife which was unfortunate because I really badly wanted a water birth. She conned me into trying to pay for her services out of pocket but had told me from the beginning that my insurance would pay for it all. She waited till most doctors wouldnt take me because I was to far along in pregnancy and threw a $300 fee at me. No its not a lot to some but the way she went about it was very shadey. Any way I found out about Dr.Spence and our first interaction was great! He makes you feel very comfortable. He takes his time with you and never rushes. He will answer any questions you have always and makes a point to keep you informed. He can be tough but so far it has only been for the best. Couldnt ask for better!

Office has horrible customer service. Phone service is even worse. Either no one picks up or Im on hold for an hour or more. I would have to call 5 times just to speak to someone. Its been a month and I still havent gotten my medical records I signed a release for. Doctor Hechaverria is incompetent and I wanted to switch to Spencer but I was forced to see Hechaverria during my last visit since Im a high risk pregnancy. The worst experience of my life with this medical practice. They dont even deserve one star. Prefer Mount Sinai.
