Next time I have to go to Urgent Care I will go to a different town or city. I arrived at 8:40 a.m. with my son who had smashed his finger in the car door. The receptionist took my ID and never explained why she would not be returning it to me for two hours, and that whole time I was worried about getting it back. She told me there were only three people ahead of me, but one person with an appointment. I watched those people, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 go into the office. 1 1/2 hours later she called me up to "register" my son at which point, I was given my ID back. Finally, we were called in. Then we were taken into our room. The doctor asked us, "When did this happen?" I said, the night before last and then he sternly asked, "Why did you wait so long to bring him in?" I said, "Because it wasnt bothering him this badly until last night and we couldnt bring him in until this morning because you were closed." At which time, the receptionist came into the room to tell us that our employer medical insurance would not cover this smashed finger. She told me I had to file with my car insurance. She knew first of this was a car related injury but now she was telling me? Everything went fine from then on once the doctor realized that the injury was 36 hours old not seven days old. He thought we had told him a week. However, things continued to be really bad in the lobby. The several people who had come in around the same time my son and I did were still waiting to be called in, and several were still waiting to be registered. I was at the desk attempting to pay for the rest of my $390 bill (I had paid the $50 copay before we went back to see the doctor), when a new patient came in. Knowing that he would have to wait more than an hour to be "registered", I told the receptionist to take him before processing my payment since he was using a cane and I didnt want him to be standing a long time. I thought this process of checking him in would only take minutes but it took 15 minutes to check him in. He was there on a workmans comp follow up. Supposedly, he was already registered, but his date of birth, address, and phone number were in the computer system wrong, and they couldnt find him. When they tried to look him up by Social Security number another persons name came up. All this was happening while at least five patients were still waiting to be registered. The wait was so long that patients who had gone out to do something while waiting came back in and said to me, "Oh, youre still here?" Finally, the receptionist got back to me and tried to process my payment and the computer would not accept the payment, even though I had used the same HSA debit card when I paid my co-pay. All in all, I was standing at the desk to process this payment for thirty minutes while I watched the poor receptionist look at her stack of ten patients that she still had the IDs and medical cards for in her possession still yet to be registered. She was exhausted and stressed and looked like she was about to cry. In the meantime, I saw the office manager in her office texting on her phone. I dont know what she was doing, to be fair. It could have been business related, but to me, the priority should have been to be out helping the girl at the front desk. When I inquired why the girl at the front desk was working this very busy load of patients by herself, she said that her help had taken ill on Wednesday. Also, during this time the office manager came out and took one phone call and attempted to help on patient check in, but even that was a fail because she handed the patient the check in sheet in Spanish. And then asked the girl if she could work on Sunday. I dont blame the girl at the front desk for the problems, but a terrible system. I consider the situation she was placed in inhumane. I have never seen such a situation in even the busiest of Urgent Care facilities. I could have driven to Lake Mary and been back in much less time than it took to go to this Urgent Care office. Beware!

Set appointment for my Wife whose shoulder was in pain, I scheduled her an appointment for treat evening at 7:30 pm. I did the full preregister online letting them know what she would be coming in for. We arrive for our appointment 30 min early, only to be told "Im sorry we cant help you our computer that does the x-rays is down. Weve had a technician here today and they could not fix it. I made the appointment before 7 am for her……that was over 12 hours earlier…….. I asked them why we were not told anything till we arrived at our scheduled time. “Oh we don’t know what she’s coming in for until she is actually here.” I expressed my anger and that their attitudes were basically, we cannot help you, and don’t care that we cannot, so please leave…..(not a single person in the entire waiting room either) I said you could at least call your Sanford location and explain the situation they you are not able to help my wife at her scheduled time and make us not wait 5-6 hours to be seen.(they had explained that all other Centra Care units too could not help her at this time) They finally call Sanford, hang up and explain that they do have a 10:10 appointment (just past 7 pm at this time) however they have 7 people that were walk ins and they close at midnight so you probably won’t be able to be seen there either. Leaving her with no options to get the care she needs?????? Follow up: Took 4 phone calls, having the receptionist hang up on me, send me to voicemail, to finally get to speak to someone. She was in full agreement that this was not how my wife should have been treated, and against company policy. She said she would pass everything to someone named Linda, who would be back in touch with me later in the day. Here it is the next day and still no one has contacted me.

I went in for the intention of an abcess drainage. Dr Ringer at the Mount Dora office stated she could not do this at this time. I asked to get a blood sample taken to check for MRSA. I later found out she coded it as a drainage and now its costing me 175$ instead my normal 50$ copay. Ive fought against this and the answer is "the doctor put the notes in and is sticking to her notes, thats how we have to code it" Ill never go to this centracare again and it was completely unfair treatment. Not to mention she told me to come back a week later for a follow up. Each time you go to this office you have to wait 1 to 2 and a half hours to be seen. She saw me for 2 minutes, said I was ok and had to spend another 50$ copay. This was the worst experience. Please save yourself the time, headache and money and do NOT go to this office. Status update on 6/07. As you can see they replied to me to email them. I did so on 5/08 and have heard 0 response. This practice is a joke. Centra Care should be ashamed
