I had a complete melt down and knew that I needed help. I need to mention that I did receive much needed medication. Other than that I have to say that the centers is in need of a complete overhaul. 1) Way too many paper pushers- a complete waste of time. Theres a copy machine available. 2) Intake for me took 7 hours- this is so unacceptable. 3) Filth all around- didnt shower for 2 days because I was scared of contracting a fungus or disease. 4) There was 2 and Im not exaggerating when I say this 2 out of 50 people that actually took the time to look at me and address any issues I had. My Dr Gabb with his Social Worker Im unsure of her name. I got to meet with them twice in 2 days for a total of 20 minutes. The other 48 persons were disappointingly rude. I was constantly treated as a problem they just wanted to go away. What a horrible experience to be treated inhumanely. 5) The food, well I have to be honest, I believe that better food could be found in a dumpster. 6) They consider a group therapy session to consist of how to wash your hands properly. Wow,wow, I got a lot out of that session. In my humble opinion the centers need to fire more than half of their employees and hire just half of what was fired with people that can give appropriate care and consideration to the patients that have to come in for help. Pay them a decent wage so that they will want to come to work and value a work ethic. A work ethic of any type is damn sure lacking with all of its employees. I will be writing letters to all of the Board Directors, Development Advisory Committee Members in hopes of helping resolves the serious issues that are happening at The Centers in Ocala, Florida. It saddens me to no ends that I have to do this however, I feel it needs to be done. I realize that I am one person but this person is going to try to change the unhealthy attitude of the employees that work at The Centers. I will be a patient advocate for all of those that have to go in for treatment. I promise to make a change. Sincerely, Mary Katherine Hicks

THE CENTERS WAS THE WORST NIGHTMARE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE...AND I WASNT EVEN THE ONE ADMITTED. READ MY STORY. SAVE YOUR LOVED ONE. My mother was Baker Acted and admitted to the centers from a rehab facility, The Refuge. About 24 hours after she was admitted I received a phone call from a staff member of the centers telling me she was discharged. I asked, “how could that be? She was baker acted? She has no money and no phone?”. Their reply was “she was no longer being held involuntarily and since it was voluntary and she refused to stay she was discharged”. This woman at this point was 5’6.5”, about 98lbs. She had been depressed, not eating for weeks, completely paranoid and overwhelmingly anxious. My only thought was who picked her up, what did they do to her, is she dead or alive? Can you imagine the horror of thinking this??? And a “supposedly credible and certified institution put her in this position”? I then had multiple family members call the centers and they received the same story. We called the Sheriff’s department and a deputy went out and was also told the same story. One of the psychiatrists from the Refuge also called and received the same story. The following morning, with still no answers, I called the Refuge again, spoke to the psychiatrist that Baker Acted her, she was enraged! She called the hospital immediately and was yet again given the same story. I got back on the phone with the sheriff’s department. They had a deputy call me who works closely with the centers and knows many of the staff members. Within 10 minutes of him being their they told him my mother was still there and had never left. To this day I have no idea how or why this company and their staff members can and could lie to people. Thank GOD my mother is safe! If you have any control in your loved ones life DO NOT LET THEM GO TO THAT HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Centers in Ocala Fl is a terrible place to go they belittle the patients and make you feel like because you have a mental illness you are not worthy of respect. The doctors here are a complete disgrace and give all psychiatrists a bad name. When you first go into the Med clinic it depicts a prison and the treatment from the doctors who claim they are on your side is shameful. One of the doctors that I saw (Dr. Luning) there told me that I have no choice but to see her for treatment she was rude, mean and had an attitude that is not suited for the profession she is in as a psychiatrist, if you are going to work with mental health patients then you should at least know how to talk to them and not make them feel unimportant. Not to mention their wait time to be seen not once but every time you go there is unacceptable there are hardly that many people in the clinic if you go there at 10:15 you dont come out until 12:30 most of the time is spent sitting in the waiting room. With the lack of quality doctors and environment around the facility they make it seem like they dont grants to establish the place and make it at least resemble a regular doctors clinic and not just a clinic where they stuff patients because its a mental facility. These inefficient doctors need to stop putting all the money they get for the clinic and patients in their pockets and give the clinic a face lift. Going in there is pure unnecessary torture!! this place makes me vomit five times in my throat the smell of the clinic alone is a disgrace do the cleaning people do their job or just because its a clinic where they treat people with mental illnesses they think they can get away with anything. This is surly the worst clinic I have been to by far.

I wish there were a button that was less than "Poor- Fair" because that is the button I would describe for the Centers. This facility is a joke. Number one, they are a non-profit and should not be receiving government funding because they treat their clients like garbage. They employ less than substandard employees. Some of them have criminal records (working with children). They do not care about clients. They treat them like garbage. They speak to them like they are trash. Hurried, rushed, get the dollar, lack of service... that describes the Centers. Ask 1/10 people in Ocala about their knowledge of the Centers and you will hear something negative. You will hear a negative story. I have witnessed on numerous occasions, while bringing my family member to building 2, clients being turned away because they are merely 5 minutes late for an appointment... Thinking to myself, "What if that 5 minutes late and that appointment could save that persons life from causing them to go home and commit suicide?"This is a mental health facility, right? They are supposed to help people, right? You have customer service employees that are rude, nasty, old, lazy and worn out. They got rid of good employees that actually made people smile. Its a shame. What a waste. Someone really needs to report this company to the non-profit places so that they can stop funding them! The Centers does NOT rebuild HOPE! Sincerely, Kelly Velez, Ocala, FL
