I wish Id read the other 1 star review prior to going here. Took our cat here in an emergency, when he came home struggling and injured. Possible fractures of jaw and skull with some type parasite infestation. I was told they couldnt help him there, quoted $2400 for head scan at Maitland facility, $4000-6000 for total treatment of fractures, but would have to go to either West Palm Beach or possibly Gainesville. We are on a budget, and I needed more affordable options. He was alert and purring, so I opted to try to nurse him through the weekend with anti inflammatory and pain relief medications. I was hoping I could possibly take him to another facility on Monday. They didnt even bother to clean his wounds, nor did they even try to treat the parasites. They said he was infested with lice. I got him home, bathed him; and he did fine through the night and next day. However, we realized later that the "lice" were actually maggots; and his wounds were heavily infested. We found what treatments we could from over-the-counter and online sources, as they hadnt even bothered with that. We gave him a dose of the pain reliever, and he became less active. Unfortunately, the maggots then became more active. After picking maggots off of his fur and out of his wounds for hours, we were losing hope. Several hours later, he was dead. I honestly feel they were only interested in the money they could get from the possible fractures. Im confused as to why they didnt even bother cleaning his wounds or treating the maggots, which they called lice. How can a veterinarian service see as animal in distress, and a distraught owner, and NOT want to do the basics to help first, PRIOR to offering more expensive advanced treatment options? I will never return here with any of my pets, and Ill make a conscious effort to ensure none of my friends or family ever take any of their pets here either!

Not even worth one star and not even worth a negative star. So disappointed in Dr. Schaefner. All she cared about was getting money from my old cat. My cat wasnt eating and slowly dying from old age. She wordered it so it sounded like my cat is a broken toy who need to be thrown away. My family and I decided if my cat is dying he should pass where he feels at home and comfortable and not scared in some strangers arms. They tried and refused to let use leave with outlets cat saying he nothing but bio hazard. It was all about money in this place and not about help. They said we could do treatment for close to $1,000 but theres nothing really to help him and th best to put him down for close $150. I told her this place is all about money and not helping. She told us hes not in pain. But when we chose to go back home with him all these lies came out and she was stuttering cause her solution was for us to hand my cat of nearly 17 years had to be put down in some strangers arms were he would be scared his finally moments. After I told her I will not pay you to put my cat down she wouldnt even look at me. Im sorry but if you need a vet I highly recommend going somewhere else. These people here dont care about your pet nor do they care to help. They only care about the money they can from your pockets. They dont see animals as family but as a annoyance of having to treat them. I honestly hope this place is shut down. Or gets new people who run who actually care in trying to help and arent in it for money reasons. Never coming back here again with any of my animals. And surly will never recommend this place to any other of my family or freinds.

AVS is abusing its customers and is happy to cancel them if you have legitimate concerns about scheduling abuse. Sarah cancelled me after I have spent over $30,000.00 at AVS over 15 years calling me belligerent bc I insisted that AVS keep the appointment that I made! Someone needs to speak for the helpless who dont want to be locked in cages... and proper scheduling should not be a problem for a decent business. Again, CEO, Jacek J de haan who works there as a surgeon but apparently is not concerned about ALL the horrible reviews and losing business. But I have 7 elderly pets... As a business owner myself, I would never cancel a 15 year customer bc of scheduling disputes - which have been an on going problem with many of our pets. If you look at all YOUR other 1 star reviews and how poorly Sarah responds, offering no real reconciliation, you should be able to see the real problem. Its called very poor management Sir. Hello Dr Jacek, "Have you taken the time to read all YOUR other 1 star reviews and Sarahs nonchalant responses? Ever notice how AVS is never at fault?! Its always, "Im so sorry you had a bad experience at AVS, but.... its not our fault... " and its clearly not the customer that Sarah is responding to... Sarah is basically advertising to all who read it. Sarah tells the customer what Sarah wants the WORLD to think, regardless of what actually happened... Its complete disregard to customer respect. Sarah makes the custmers MORE upset! Read them ALL!!!

"TERRIBLE" do not go! If I can rate -5 stars I will, I must say the ladys working at reception were nice and polite , however the veterinarian Dr Lapman was rude, she make me fell like I wasnt good enough because I kept asking her about prices , I am on a budget , veterinary is expensive and as a Dr I believe you should have the sympathy and understand that not everyone is rich! I was more than happy to spend whatever for my dogs health, however this so call doctor was very condescending, she never smile or even touch my dog , they charge me $145 dollars for an examination and she didnt even felt my dog to see what was wrong with her, it seem to me that all she cared about was how much money I would spend... Sometimes a smile and kind words make all the difference but this lady Lapman lacks on human warmth , why is she even a veterinarian , I think prison guard will fit her profile better! ... I left and seek another vet hospital. The experience with Dr Lapman was more like taking your car to the mechanic.

I wish they had 5+ unlimited stars. The staff is amazing!!! Recently I brought my cat with a broken jaw (he was hit by a car) and Dr. Brotherson with nurse Becky were awesome!!! Since, the surgery was a little bit pricey for me they worked with my budget. I was impressed and touched when I learn that Dr. Brotherson did more for my cat than I paid for. Dr. Brotherson, nurse Becky and staff were so understandable, helpful and caring. And I thank all of them from the bottom of my heart.

September the 8th 2015 Dr Peck and his staff accomplished surgeries on both front legs of our dog Lucky. 10 stars . Thanks again to AVS Dr. Peck and his crew. We are extremely grateful to Dr Peck and the crew thanks to them Lucky now is able to enjoy his normal activities. Thank you again . We highly recommend them.

Brought my beloved cat here on a couple of occasions and was always treated with the utmost respect and concern. It is such a comfort to have this facility so close to my home for emergency situations. On one evening visit, Dr. Freeman was on duty and I cannot say enough about how wonderful she was to us.
