I brought my kitten in for what I thought was just a $32 follow up check-up, a week after his first $110 visit for sneezing a lot. I was asked if I was going to have a chip implanted, and I said it depended on how much this visit would be. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time, and was brought to an examination room 15 minutes or so later. The vet didnt arrive in the exam room until I had been waiting an hour. They had me fill out the chip form (please write legibly), while I was waiting all that time "in case I decided to have it installed". Well the Vet installs the chip, before Ive seen the total bill, but I didnt stop him, which was my fault. He and the nurse leave and in a reasonable amount of time, she comes back with a bag of medicine, medicinal treats, and instructions for the chip. Since Im disabled and have a bag in one hand and my cane in the other, she takes the cat carrier out to the counter without having to be asked. Things go South here. A young man comes out and says Ill check you out here. So I pay the $127 for the chip registration, the antibiotic liquid, pills, and some lysine cat treats. BTW, the lysine treats are 4 to 5 times as much as other lysine treats online, and same brand is 20% cheaper online. Then the young man says, he needs my credit card back and says they didnt charge me for all of my medicine. So he runs it for another $20. This charge was never on the bill that I was shown and asked to approve in writing. It doesnt stop there. I am standing with my cane and bag, and the guy says I can leave, and walks off. He doesnt even offer to help with my cat carrier. So I wait in the office until one of the other clerks isnt busy, and ask if she could help. She graciously accepts, but what was ending on a nice note turns sour (not the nice lady who helps), but the office staff in general. As I am driving home, I get about 5 minutes from my house when a call comes through. I have hands-free so I press the button the steering wheel and take the call. They didnt give me all the medicine, so I have to come back to their office and get it. I tell them, I dont want to leave my cat in the car, so Ill drop him off and drive back up there. At this point, I check the bag when I get home, and the form I filled out for the chip is still in there. I check Google, and there is no record whatsoever of that chip ID. So it is useless, without the information on the form being entered into the companies online database. I drive back up and get the medicine, as well ask about there being no information associated with the chip online, and show here my completed form. The clerk says they are supposed to keep the form and enter the information online. So I said the chip is useless without that right? She agrees. When I get home there is an email from Newmans stating, “Past Due (90 days) Health Service Reminder for Chester”. My kitten has only been a patient of Newman’s for eight days. The vaccine in question, is one that he already had gotten from the rescue center I got him from, and gave them copies of on his initial visit. In closing, I originally gave them two stars, because for the most part the staff was friendly, and the Vet took his time and answered all of my questions. But the more I wrote, the more upset I got. If he is better in 2 weeks, I am not taking him back there. If he isnt I am taking him elsewhere.

My visit on 4/25/17 was horrible, they wouldnt give me refills on a prescription I got from Doctor Neff when he was there. For 3 years I got refills for my dogs skin medication Cephalexin to last until my next wellness exam ( 12 months worth at least 4 refills ) to control his skin problem. I am not going to pay $42.00 per office visit to get refills as indicated by Doctor Paige.... ?.....( and is not included in staff directory on website for this office ) no vets name on the invoice. He gets this medicine about 3 to 4 times a year to control the problem. He had a biopsy done about 5/6 years ago and has been on the medicine since. I wasnt told when making the appointment that doctor Neff was no longer there so I was surprised to get another doctor for Rambos check up. The vets assistant wasnt aware that Rambo was to get his yearly shots too. I was told when making the appointment that aside from having him checked for soft stool I can also do yearly tests/shots. When I first got brought into the exam room Rambo was weighed and I dont believe the tech waited for Rambo to properly settle on the scale which caused an improper reading of his weight. I reweighed him at home and his weight was 3.5lbs more than documented by her. When taking his blood sample for testing it took three people at least "15" tries to get a few drops of blood. Then to get a prescription for heartworm treatment for 12 months I had to ask and practically demand ( about 6 times ) that it be given to me. Then there was the issue of soft stool the doctor wanted to run a blood test panel which would make my bill go from $133.00 to $305.00.....I passed. There was a suggestion of Fortiflora yet no medication was given to help him. I left the vets office still wondering what was wrong with my dog. Due to the diligence and experience of having pets for 30 years plus between my wife and myself the stool issue is better. The motto on the wall in their office " Our Goal Is To Make Your Pet Happy " should be removed. I felt this whole visit was about" How Big Can We Make The Bill Before The Clients Leave". I will never go back there, already found another vet ..... "1" star for his shots hopefully there the right ones.........Hide Your Wallet

I was not very satisfied with Newmans Daytona beach. My boyfriend and I made an appointment for our dog to get the canine influenza vaccine mid morning. We get there, get checked in and we sit in a private corner setting because our dog gets very excited when she sees new people and pets she can play with. Well about 30 minutes into waiting for the technician to come get Ella, one of the receptionist comes up to us and says that they ran out of the flu vaccine a few days ago. She also mentioned that the day before our appointment they were calling everyone who made an appointment for the vaccine that they didnt have the vaccine. I wasnt upset about the fact they didnt call us. I was more upset about the fact that we waited a little over 30 minutes into our appointment with a very excited 60lbs dog until someone finally came over to tell us they ran out of the vaccine. Yes the receptionist was very nice and apologetic but I feel like this could have been relayed to us when we arrived for our appointment. Its not an easy task getting our dog Ella to the vet and sitting there with her while shes wanting every persons attention and to play with every single pet she sees.
