Last Tuesday I took my sick animal to the Uniontown Veterinary Clinic, a business that I have been using since 1978. I have never failed to pay my bill. Even when I moved 70 miles away I continued to use their services. Even when it changed ownership in 2009 I continued with them. I will allow you to be the judge here of my experience. My pet had stopped eating for one and one half days, was voiding however not defecating, and vomiting. Upon exam and based on previous blood work they were concerned of a possible blockage or tumor and wanted to get some x-rays. Seemed reasonable however I explained that I was tight on cash right now and a week away from payday. They gave me an estimate of $178 and I agreed and payed. The x-ray reveled a great deal of stool in his intestines. They gave him some fluids, meds for nausea, and special food for gastritis and let me take him home to see if he would eat. However he continued to vomit and not eat, and became more lethargic. On Friday I took him back and they said that since he was still not defecating they would treat him with an enema, blood-work, and additional x-ray. Estimate $ 260, I agreed and payed even though it was causing me severe financial distress. When I picked him up Friday evening the doctor based on x-ray was still concerned with an area in his intestines that she was unsure of and the next step would be exploratory surgery. Estimate $600 to $1200. I explained that I just didn’t have that much in my account. I could pay some and postdate a check however that was not acceptable. The owner was out of town and they couldn’t approve anything. I left with my pet and he continued to not eat, still was vomiting, and becoming more lethargic. On Monday being very concerned for the health of my pet I called Uniontown Vet to see if we could move forward with treatment. They told me to bring him in however I would need to pay a $600 deposit. When I explained that that was not possible because I didn’t have that amount today however I could pay$300. I was told they would have to call the owner to see if they would take less get back to me. When they called back they said I need to pay the $600 deposit and leave credit card for further charges. While it may seem reasonable to require a large deposit for surgery, I was given no other options other than paying $600 for my very sick pet. At this time I inquired the cost for his records and x-rays and was told no charge. I could pick them up around 2PM. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Larson at the Veterinary Wellness Center in North Canton. They would call Uniontown Vet to get the records and save me the trip. I showed up for the appointment and they were still trying to get the records and the x-rays were in a format that they could not read. They called and asked them to send them again however they still could not read them. I then drove to Uniontown vet to get a hard copy of the x-rays only to return with a blank cd!!!!! I am very thankful to Dr. Larson and his staff for them caring enough to help me today. I would suggest their office to anyone who is looking for compassionate and quality care for their pets. As for Uniontown Veterinary clinic you can decide if their actions toward a customer of thirty plus years was caring and compassionate.

Uniontown Veterinary Clinic is not just any Veterinary office. It is a place I can say I hold close to my heart. I have been using Uniontown Veterinary Clinic since about 2010 give or take. The Dr.s and Staff at Uniontown do not look at you as just another person bringing in your pet they look at you as family. Your fur babys become their first priority. They will always look at what is best for them. If there is an issue they will provide you with as much information as they can and take as much time that is needed to explain or walk through procedures that your baby may need. Uniontown was a place where my dog Nakota LOVED to go. She never feared walking into the clinic. I would look at her and say " Do you want to go see Dr. Joe and your Friends?" I could not get the car door open quick enough!! Even after her first cancer surgery she still was excited to go see her friends and get her peanut butter. They always kept us informed during and after her surgeries and even if she stayed over night. After all that was my baby, and they knew and respected that. For many years I have felt not as a customer to a business but a part of a family. When it came time to say good bye to my baby they never rushed us. They gave us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes. Even after she had drifted off to go cross rainbow bridge they gave us time. Everyone there gave us their condolences and as we left I felt it was not us who just lost a member of our family but they were affected also. My cat also is a fur patient of theirs and she usually is very sketchy around strangers and people other than myself. When she has to go she actually roams the room and checks stuff our and seems very calm. I will never use another veterinary clinic ever!! I have recommended them to all my family and friends. They go above and beyond. Your pet is not just an animal to them it is a member of your family and they will go above and beyond for your fur kids!!!!

This vet deserves absolutely no stars. They had a substitute veterinarian on duty the last time I visited to my severe misfortune. Dr. Robert Mueller administered vaccines on my pure bred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel while I had brought him in for a problem with diarrhea. He shook my hand very aggressively and made both my dogs wince with pain when he did a physical exam and jabbed their vaccines in. With 48 hours my 5 year old dog was dead. This vet refuses to take any responsibility for their misconduct and negligence. I am left with $2000 in vet bills and a the painful loss of my furry best friend. They do nothing but talk in circles and dodge any blame for their actions. They are not concise about anything. They shouldnt get away with this but in the end - the money always wins. If you care about your pets, and your friends pets, do not support this business. They see your pet and they see profit, especially Dr. Mueller, who cannot be called a veterinarian - rather - a cold hearted murderer. And all I can do, is write this review. While he carries on practicing and making six figures.

Uniontown Vet Clinic is the best. When my dog got sick, I reached out to many vets and they all told me the same thing, "you had better make your peace with it, he only has a few months". It was lymphoma and I was about to lose my best friend. As a last resort, I reached out to Joe and Ang to get one last opinion. That was five years ago now and my buddy was waiting at the door to give me kisses when I got home from work today. Uniontown vets staff is family to me and every step of the way I got to interact with people that love animals just as much as I love my best buddy. You cant go wrong in their hands.
