DONT USE THIS VET WHILE ON VACATION! I really want to rate you with a big fat ZERO! I am VERY disappointed and frankly appalled in the lack of interest I experienced with my senior pet last week. It was painfully obvious you cared more about making more money than a simple nail trim could provide you. Shame on you! My baby suffered and should NOT HAVE! My hometown vet recommended that I carry phone numbers of vets close to our vacation rental "just in case" as my dog is 14 yrs old. (they obviously are more concerned and caring than YOU are!) I searched online and noticed you had a 5 star or 4.9 star rating and collected your number... Upon arriving our dog experienced problems standing on the tile floor due to her nails being too long. She was unable to stand as her feet slid out from under her and it made her very sore and she kept falling. I phoned this office for help. I simply asked for a nail trim (and file). I was told and I quote, " We cant trim a dogs nails unless they are a patient here. You might want to try somewhere like PetCo". (I assume you have never used PetCo Nor have you heard of their bad reputation of the horrible treatment animals receive there.) How insulting! Youd actually refer me out to such TRASH instead of offering a simple, 10 min nail visit! We mightve even purchased treats and canned food there, maybe you wouldve preferred an "upsale"? I didnt expect to have to call you, but at the very least you couldve sounded more compassionate. It was obvious to me and my local vet (who I told this story to this morning) that you were ALL ABOUT MAKING MONEY than caring for animals. You were going to require an expensive "New patient" visit. I had all of her medical records with me and even told you that. Her health was fine, She only needed nails trimmed- by an office that I mightve considered using regularly in the future.. Everyone should know that you do NOT care about the welfare of "vacationing" animals. When I relocate there for retirement, we DEFINITELY WONT be using your office!!!

Dr. Van Deijck took care of our cat Raven after I returned from a cruise to find him horribly thin and sick. The entire staff was professional and compassionate in providing care. The news was heartbreaking about Raven as Dr. Van Deijck carefully arrived at the conclusion that he may have a terminal illness though he continued with an optimistic treatment plan. We never felt rushed during any of our visits and he spent a lot of time to ensure that all of our questions and worries were addressed in the most caring manner. Unfortunately, we lost our battle against Ravens disease a couple of weeks ago. This was devastating to me and my family. Dr. Van Deijck was exceptional in the veterinary services he provided even calling me at 9 pm to review test results and a consult he had taken the time to get for Raven with a specialist. He called after his death to express condolences personally and also sent a card to us with a hand written and personalized message of support and concern. I will never take my pets to any other veterinarian.

Our experience with Callie, our dog, going to Pet Street has been wonderful. Callie has had medical issues in the past, including surgeries at AVS, in Maitland. Both my husband and I realized that we needed to find a veterinarian that would see her quarterly, in order to try to prevent any potential problems from escalating. We were impressed by Dr. Van Deijck and his staff the moment we entered the Care Center. The caring attitudes exhibited by all were endearing to us. Dr. Van Deijck exhibits a thorough, professional attitude while he examines Callie with care and love. You can automatically sense that he loves his chosen profession. I appreciate the fact that the Doctor always calls us with testing results personally, and is readily available to answer any medical questions. We would be happy to refer Pet Street Veterinary Care Center to anyone requesting a refferal. Sincerely, Nancy and Walt Roberts, Ormond Beach, F.

I met to write this review way sooner but about a year and a half ago I went through the very traumatic experience of putting my 8 year old dog down. It was by far the hardest thing Ive ever had to do. The staff here and Doctors were extremely considerate and delicate with the situation. They had no problem with us being there well past close to grieve for my beloved pet. They took care of all the arrangements and even sent me a handwritten card expressing their consolidates. Only thing I would recommend is that all the staff are aware of which pets have passed and when their owners are picking up the ashes. I walked in to pick up my dogs ashes and one of the techs very bubbly asked me how my dog was doing and I just started bawling... I know it was an honest mistake and he felt horrible about it afterwards. I love the care I received and am always recommending them.

Our Boston Terrier had an unwelcome visitor to our yard this week and after a brief but very scary situation he was bitten by another dog. Dr. van Deijck saw our dog immediately and assured us our little boy was not severely injured. Being new to the area I did a lot of research regarding vets for our dog. He is our son and we love him so his care was of utmost importance. I chose Pet Street because of the rave reviews from other pet owners and the fact they are open 7 days a week. I am so glad I did. Doctor Van Deijck and Dr Williams are fantastic and the office staff is great as well. Our dog is in great hands and it is obvious everyone there loves our pets as if they were their own. Thank you for taking such good care of our baby and seeing him on an emergency basis which is important when bad things happen like what our dog experienced this week.

Having recently moved to Florida & leaving a veterinary clinic who had taken care of our family pets for 30+ years, I was unsure Id find any practice equal. Thankfully, I have. Dr. Van Dejick seeks to find the cause of the issues, taking into account past history, daily routine & environment before making his diagnose. Of course, lab work and other medical procedures are performed when necessary. However, it was refreshing to know that prescribing painkillers or antibiotics to simply mask symptoms was not going to be the first choice. Thanks to him, what seemed like a clear cut case of feline cystitis in my recently adopted barn cat was actually a stress-related issue, remedied with a "nurture collar". Rascal is now happy, healthy and content, enjoying his new indoor life with his other cat and dog friends.
