We are so happy we found Cedar Bay Vet Clinic. Dr Jan is absolutely a wonderful vet. I first went there with my 13 year old Tea cup Yorkie, who was not well at all after suffering from 2 days of seizures. Dr Jan gave her some Holistic medicine she made specially for her, gave her some fluids, sugar and within 24 hours she was back to her feisty little self. Dr Jan unfortunately could not save her a year later, when her renal system started to fail. Well in September last year we became proud parents of 2 Shih Tzu puppies. They went straight to Dr Jan as we were having problms with diaherra, she could not find anything herself, but suggested they be tested for Giardia as a long shot, well she was right the test came back positive. They went on meds for a week and all clear. They go there for there check ups which are the most thorough i have ever seen and Dr Jan is not shy in telling you what is best for you pet, even though you might not like what she has to say, as it can sometimes be against something you did. I would trust her and her staff with my dogs life. The staff, vet nurses/techs, Celeste (the poop inspector), Angela and Tracie the receptionist are also wonderful. Theie knowledge is deep and caring and you can call with questions anytime and if they cannot answer them. They will talk to Dr Jan and call you back. Dr Jan is also conservative and will monitor situations instead of, oh yes you need to bring the pet in ( office visit and exam fee) like most vets. They will call you the nest day to see how everything is going. This really is the best and most caring vet in the Orlando area. Oh and one other thing, Dr Jan cares more about your pet than lining her pocket.

Some people might not believe me and Im glad others have had good experiences here. I wish I had too because my pets health is my number one priority, but if I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Everything is apparently an "allergy" no matter what Ive gone in for. I could bring a cat or dog in there with a broken leg and Id be told its "allergies go home and give them a Claritin." when its clear my pet needs antibiotics, also she says she will approve prescriptions or order them for your pets and never does or wont approve multiple faxes sent by the pet pharmacy. I wont ever waste my money here again instead Ill go somewhere where I will be treated like a human being and get the medication that my pets needs. If you are not rich and dont drive a Mercedes they treat you like a second class citizen, but of course they dont care about one poor persons money! I hate to think how many pets could have possibly died because of her negligent care and not giving proper medications. Update 3 days later: I find it funny that Dr. V lied and said she doesnt know who I am, but mysteriously after she posted her own comment in response to mine, then only then were my pets meds available for pick up and my 1-800 pet meds request approved. Yet I still have to spend more money and go to another vet because she refuses to give my baby oral antibiotics for a URI, and would only give me topical antibiotics after I had to plead with her. hopefully it doesnt turn into pneumonia by Monday.

I dont normally right reviews but I felt like this was important. I made an appointment to see Dr.Valentine. On her website it says that they are an integrative clinic which might be true with Dr.Valentine but unexpectedly we ended up with another vet that didnt know much about the practice. He was just filling in for the day. I didnt like his vibe. When he left the room he didnt even say bye. He just walked out which I found so unprofessional. I felt like he didnt try hard enough to help me find a reason for my dogs issues. I felt like I wasted my money here. I didnt see the person I wanted and didnt get the results I expected plus they charge $18 for a nail trim which is to pricey. Im mad because I spent so much money there for no reason and I got treated with poor service. It really bothers me. If you are going to charge so much I expect the service to be professional and friendly. I have read the reviews and everyone says that Dr.Valentine is good but its unfortunate that I got to see someone that ruined the reputation of this place. At least for me. I know that you will read this and the other vet will too. I just want to let you know what I thought and let him know to maybe change his way of communication.

We just got back from an appointment with Dr. Valentine, the new vet who has replaced Dr. Jan. She was excellent! She took a lot of time with us and our dog. She was both compassionate and confident with the dog, calming her and taking command of her. We went into the appointment thinking we needed to get the dogs teeth cleaned but thankfully after examining her teeth Dr. Valentine thought that providing good chewing bones and working on brushing would be adequate for now. I appreciated her counsel to avoid the anesthesia at this point. I also appreciated the gentle exhortation to keep working on being Sugars "alpha" especially in regard to boundaries and training. Thank you Dr. Valentine and Angela, a loyal staff assistant who helped us! Thank you to Cami and Ashley as well.

Ive been to many vets, a necessary by product of moving and having so many pets, but Dr. Jan and the crew at Cedar Bay are among my favorites. I take my two dogs to Cedar Bay and my pets have received the most thorough evaluations by Dr. Jan than they have by any other vet weve seen previously. I love how the staff remember me, unlike any other vet clinic weve ever been to, and her holistic approach to animal care and husbandry. Dr. Jan takes the time to explain things thoroughly so that you understand everything, she doesnt rush like a lot of vets weve seen and we love how friendly everyone is there. Highly recommended!

I called and spoke to the receptionist who was very polite and helpful. I have several cats and it is important to me that I find a Doctor that is humane to cats and doesnt support the practice of declawing cats - very cruel to the cat. Regrettably, Dr. Valentine continues this practice thus the 1-star rating. Should she change her policy I would gladly reconsider. Surprised declawing is so widely practiced in FL where as up north most doctors have abandoned this procedure.
