There are several things that stand out about Mesa Veterinary Hospital, and I think its important for anyone who is thinking about bringing their animals there to consider all of them. First is the staff. In my experience, the technicians are very skilled and personable, and Dr. Doverspike is one of the most caring and knowledgeable veterinarians I have ever visited. He expresses honest concern for the animals that enter his hospital and is very thorough at ensuring they receive the best possible care he can provide for them. He is also very dedicated to follow-up, which I strongly value; many veterinary clinics will have a receptionist or technician call a client to check up on their pet after treating it, but Dr. Doverspike called me himself several times to ask about my cats health after he treated her for GI upset and aspiration pneumonia. His ongoing concern and honest desire to help went a long way with me, since I consider follow-up to be one of the most telling things about how a veterinary practice does business. A second point I would like to bring up is to address two of the criticisms I commonly hear about this practice. One is the fact that they have referred to themselves as a "high-end" hospital, and the other is the fact that their services are expensive. As a graduating veterinarian who is acutely aware of how much it truly costs to run a veterinary clinic, I have to point out that when Mesa claims to be "high-end," they are referring to the fact that they have the capability to perform advanced diagnostics and treat advanced medical problems that lower-end hospitals might have to refer somewhere else. This does not mean that the hospital only caters to the wealthy; I myself am anything but, and I still found the prices fair. Anyone who doesnt wish to make use of the high-end diagnostics and testing that Mesa offers is always free to turn them down and ask for simpler care. I hear people complain so often about having to pay exorbitant amounts of money for surgical biopsies or advanced testing because the veterinarian recommended them, but it is important to remember that a veterinarian is obliged to recommend the testing and treatments that will provide the most benefit for an animal, and unfortunately those are often the most costly. That does not mean they are your only option, and you can always be frank with your veterinarian and tell them your budget; they will work within it to still provide the best care possible. Finally, I would like to urge everyone who reads this to consider bringing their animals to this hospital, and not just because of the good experiences I have had there. The more people discover this hospital and bring their animals there, the more it will thrive, and this will allow it to expand its staff, lower its prices, and provide even better and more affordable care to the Ponte Vedra area. Thank you so much for reading this review. I hope it was useful for you!

Dr. Drew and his staff are amazing. They are helpful and compassionate. I’m delighted we found them (and so close by!). Brandon, the tech who checked us in, got on the floor with our dog Daisy and took her history while lying next to her and petting her. It instantly put Daisy (and me!) at ease. When the visit was done, Brandon walked us out and even lifted Daisy (a 65lb bulldog) into my car. Dr. Drew listened intently to Daisy’s medical history so he could get a holistic view of her health. This meant that he could treat her in the best way given her age and history. He truly personalized her care – which must be exceptionally difficult for veterinarians (who have to fill the role of a generalist and specialist across a range of animals). Dr. Drew and his team were very clear on what Daisy needed (and didn’t need), the cost, and next steps. I left the office feeling like they truly care about my pet’s wellbeing. We’ll be lifelong patients!

I took my injured pup there sometime last year.. The doctor took very good care of her however the staff (front desk) Not so much... I scheduled an appointment this week for follow up shots and nail trim and was very specific with times due to work. When my daughter got there she was told to have been late and they werent sure if the doctor could even see our dog. Mistake # 1 Businesses should NEVER blame their customer for their own miss understanding!! It made us feel as if we were a burden and our pet wasnt important to them. End result, my daugther left in frustration. Not only did they lose a client but I was also planning on bringing my other dog who is currently under the banfield plan. Now, I dont even want to recommend them! Our pets are like family members and should be treated as such. No one wants to be treated where they arent welcome. Customer service is everything! Too bad, I really liked the doctor and facility.

I rescued one of my dogs from the streets when he was just a puppy. I took him immediately to see Dr. Doverspike and him and his team helped me with all I needed in order to save him. All of them were caring and professional. Three years have pass and I moved out of the country with my now fully grown boy. They also helped me with the certificates and paperwork to do so. And still they keep contact with me asking how is Tadeo doing. Wish I could clone them and bring them where I live now.

Unfortunately they failed on the first call - THAT FIRST CONTACT IS CRITICAL especially to establish a new client ...Girl who answered seemed….. First - aggravated to get a call ……..Second- unwilling to be friendly and helpful - she was way too short and rushed ..everything about the phone call was saying She Hated what she was doing….. ..she didnt enjoy the task… and it lost a potential animal loving client ...

Weve had dogs for 22 years and Mesa Vet is by far the best Vet weve encountered - Drew Doverspike and his staff are not only loving and caring people but also extremely competent and excellent medical practitioners. My dog used to shake when entering the Vets office but never at Mesa. If youre looking for superb care for your pet, youll find it at Mesa. Pamela and Peter Tobiason

Dr. Drew is caring and kind doctor, and I highly recommend him for caring for your furry friends. He has helped us out on two occasions for different pets. Each situation had us extremely nervous, and Dr. Drew took the time to explain the situations, provide excellent care and follow up, answer our questions, and put us and our pets at ease.

I just took my dog, Lucy, to see Dr. Doverspike. He was great, really easy going with my girl and she seemed to like him too. I like the fact that he took the time to explain the things he was doing during the visit. The clinic is really sweet too. Def would refer people to this vet hospital.

I have been taking my five puppies to Mesa for the past four years. They have received the absolute best care from Dr. Doverspike and his staff. I would highly recommend Mesa to everyone for their pets care.

Over priced and pretentious. They believe they are a "high end" if such things exist. They believe they are above their customers. Yes, you are in Nocatee, but so are your customers. Avoid at all costs!!!
