I felt another review needed to be posted as well after our experience on November 26, 2014. After four years from the previous review I am appalled that other consumers havent posted experiences as the previous review and ours. We began our visit with a referral from Kaiser for a prescription for bifocals. Upon entering the store the sales associates were eager to sell of us. However, when presenting the with the Kaiser referral they claimed we would still be paying $175 minimal for a pair of frames/lens. I had to educate them as well as conference in Kaiser, Medicare and Axesis where the sales associates claimed they get there information. Upon explaining that we had an awesome policy as a 40 year General Motors Retired employee that we had a $59 frames out of pocket cost and $100 benefit through Medicare the employees continued to challenge us. After they spoke with the 3 providers that we had conferenced on our cell phone they seemed surprised that we had that knowledge. They continued to claim that Kaiser/Medicare only allows 1 pair of glasses a year directly after cataract surgery which this wasnt the case in our case. Our experience with American Vision Center is that they are committing fraud by misleading consumers that there great software (Axesis) and there provider hotline makes the decisions on claims processing. Well they couldnt locate anything in there system I was able to get an authorization code from the 3 way conference call but refused to do business after an hour and having to educate an incompetent and robbery staff. This case has been presented to Kaiser for them to be removed as a participating provider as well as Medicare to report fraudulent claims processing and to the Better Business Bureau to prevent other consumers from being bait and switch for this company.

Although the eye doctor was wonderful the service after the exam was poor. They were great when I was selecting my glasses and ordering them but things changed after they charged my credit card. They did not give me the proper information that I needed to file with my insurance. They lied to me twice once that they would file the forms for me and I wouldnt have to do it myself and they then claimed that they had never faxed anything to the company on anyone before after I went to the insurance company and did not have the proper paperwork. I had already talked with the rep at the place I work for who had told me that they had faxed forms to her before. Misleading a customer twice to me is totally unethical. I would have cancelled the order but they have a 25% charge for that (I wonder how many times this has happened before) btw I still havent received the glasses that I already paid $509 for. Ordering glasses from them was a mistake. If I had just had the eye exam I think that they could have handled that piece properly unfortunately that was a mere minimal cost compared to what they should have filled paperwork out for.

Ive been to this place about 6 times. From the first day, they have been really nice and helpful. They are very honest and thats what I liked from the very get go. If you need glasses, this is the place to go. If you want a honest opinion about how they look on you, just ask.

It took Forever to receive my glasses! It took about 4 weeks Do not recommend going there! I decided to order them online. They were way cheaper and they came in a week.
