We were referred for pain care from a Bone specialist with several local pain clinics, and it took 2 months to get the first visit to Burtons practice. We have no insurance and found it difficult to be accepted anywhere around so we found Dr. Burton and his great reviews online. Yay! We finally found a doctor that would accept cash/credit!!!! We took, and had my friends records sent twice before they had us pay $150.00 just to review the records before they would see him. (We had to keep calling them to review). We luckily took records with us as my friend wanted to be very thorough. The visit was quite pricey for a disabled individual out of work as you might expect. The nurse after walking in was very uncaring, and I tried to answer all her questions quickly as she seemed rushed and not wanting to be sociable. After a pee test was performed, the Dr., (IF YOU CAN CALL HER THAT), Josette", walked in and sat in silence for 5 minutes after we answered all her questions as to why we would want to come to this practice for help. SERIOUSLY?!!!! My friend has been suffering since his visit to the bone Dr. 2 months prior as he was referred for pain management. We finally found a cash dr.. She seemed unwilling to treat my friend as his test came back positive for something that could only be from the over the counter herbal Kratom. There have been reviews about the herb giving false positive results and boy did we find out the hard way. First Doc Josette accused him of buying street drugs. We are talking about a nearly 60 yr. old man with a worn down body from a lifetime of hard work. I quickly had to start pulling out those records he brought to prove he had been written scripts. We are currently trying to get his disability and as suggested, his medical care. Keep in mind that theres no insurance and we are paying cash to get care. She told him he could only get a non narcotic medication and come back in a week and pay again for another test before she would prescribe anything again. We discussed the possibility of this test coming back positive being kratom and she didnt even know what it was. We also discussed stopping the kratom and having a satisfactory test, and asked when he would get an actual medication to actually help with his chronic pain. We discussed that he had previously been prescribed percocet, and that it worked where hydrocodone does not. Do you know she actually said it was the same medication?!!! She doesnt know what kratom is, doesnt know the difference between narcotics, doesnt care about the patient as she left us all sitting in silence for what seemed an eternity after she humiliated us both by accusing him of buying street drugs. This woman really is a joke and she is bringing the good name of Dr. Burton down as she was very unprofessional by asking the front dest staff to walk back to our room and discuss the fee we asked her to refund, thinking we would just rather get up and walk out, rather than be humiliated and accused of something he had not taken. They asked about the problem, then they stared in afterwards which felt very unprofessional for a whole front staff to come back and gaulk at us. This should have been a one person job, not the staff. My friend never wants to go back as anyone could expect after he was treated, and that dr. really is a joke. She couldnt understand us as we had to repeat things, and it was hard to understand her accent as well at times which kept causing frustration after the way she treated my friend, or made him feel. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this office if you have to see this woman.

Okay, Ive given this office every reasonable, conceivable benefit of the doubt - but I cant go there anymore or expect my family to. The front office is horrible, as is the nurse that sees me. In particular, Susan in the front office is a sheer and utter impossibility to deal with. Ive spoken to her office manager on two occasions to ask that Susan merely be professional - not even nice - Im beyond that expectation. Ive gone in, bordering on obsequious and I get the cold shoulder from everyone, and Susan leaves the front office. She has ONE purpose - interface with the patients and the medical staff - and she utterly fails at it. My wife had an appointment this morning, and was told that 2 rxs would be called in. Only one was. She called the office, got Susan. Susan told her, "Ill tell her." My wife asked if it would be called in today? "I have absolutely no idea." It is beyond me to begin to fathom at this point why a person such as this would be allowed to serve as a front line for a medical office. The nurse that I see told me on my visit last week that they had never prescribed a particular medicine for me. I told her that they certainly had, and that I had the bottle in my vehicle. Of course, I, the ever-attempting to please doormat that I tend to be, went to the truck and got the bottle. Instead of an, oh, Im sorry - it was, I see what happened. When I asked her about another medicine, she said that they had never prescribed it for me. I pointed out that we had just gone through this drill. Her response was, "No. We have not. I went and checked on this one." So clearly, her ultimate goal is to be right. I would typically counsel someone to not let it bother you. But - dammit - I left the office with elevated blood pressure and feeling worse than when I went in. And, while I normally can shrug something off, this has been stuck in my craw for over a week now. I believe its the fact that I have enough sense to know that mistakes do happen, and, when they do, lets just move on. Im here for my meds and a level check - and I watched my wife get into a nut the closer we got to the office today. The office sees a lot of people in recovery - I heard saboxone mentioned to a patient in the front office - which I believe is a violation of about seventy-two tenets of HIPPA - and everyone is talked down to. I dont intend to imply that its ok to speak down to people in recovery. It turns out that I have been so focused on the WTF that Ive been dealing with that I cant even empathize with other people in the office. Dr. Burton is clearly working on building a big practice, diversified and providing many lines of service - but if patients are falling in the cracks because you cant get an office staff that can at least be professional if not nice - even an aloof attitude. So, hows that for a summation: Id settle for aloof or indifferent - just quit being downright obtuse and rude. Theres no passive in their aggressive. *one caveat - Keisha in the front office is an absolute angel. Id clean house and let her run the show.

Want to do one star but because of Dr.Burton himself I decided to do 2.I have been going to see Dr. burton for the past five years or more and for the most part I was treated with respect but for the past two-three times Ive had the displeasure of getting other nurses/doctors. Here is the story: I lived in the area about 30 minutes away so I had been going to him for years but for the past 2-3 years I moved to Buford Georgia, I still decided to keep Dr. burton because hes the best, I drove an hour and a half- two hours just to be able to go see him again for my refills. This past time is truly the only reason that has me writing this review. I got Dr. Jossett and her nurse. I scheduled a physical and refil Susan said ok great... But surprise surprise when I get there the "blank" nurse of dr Jossett says "shes not gna be able to do "all" if that today and that I have to make seperate appointments... Really?! And this nurse? Dear god she is an absolute nightmare. Shes the type of person that no matter how much you smile at her or try to be in good mood she just brings you down with her. Shes a young black girl who Im assuming is dr jossetts nurse. So I say ok let me just talk to her about something very random like my small back pain but I just get my refil since Im running out. So thats exactly what I do.., no physical. I then take my proscription to the store where they tell me that dr Jossett specifically wrote on there that can not get it filled for another week and a half...I call the office to see if they can just make the call to pharmacy but "shes not allowed" and let me remind u once again Iv been on same med for almost 5+ years and never once had a problem... I then ask that god forsaken nurse if she can get my order for the X-rays cuz the one she wrote is for a place my insurance doesnt cover and at first she makes ME google the number of the place and the she had the audacity to say "Ill do it when I get to it" are you freaking kidding? I still contained myself said thanks and hung up. I then called the office again to see what I had to get from them to change my doctor and instead of asking if everything was ok (considering if been going to only them for so long) she just tell me to find a doc and have them send for you medical records... I am so dissatisfied/disappointed as much as I love dr burton himself this clinic is going to hell with the type of nurses and uncaring doctors he has now. I pleased with the nurse that even if she could tell them to fill it 2 days earlier I would be ok but Nooo shes not "allowed". I guess Ill need to find a doctor whom I dont have to drive 2 hrs to see unless ofcourse I start asking for dr burton himself to see me and with my luck he probably wont be able to see me for months since its his practice and is a busy guy. All I have to say is dr Jossett and her nurse who was relaying her messages are the most uncaring individuals Iv ever met in that office and God forbid I ever go see those two again.
