Dr. Barnwell himself is a marvelous, heaven sent doctor. His office staff and policies, however, need work. My son had been coughing persistently for two weeks and it was progressively getting worse, I tried to make an appointment and expressed my concern they told me dr. Barnwell didnt have any time. I waited, scheduled another appointment and I BEGGED them to see my son about 10 minutes passed the cut off time (my boss wouldnt let me go any earlier). Anyone that knows that office knows Dr. Barnwells wait time is a little bit short of forever. They could have seen him. Nurse Tina wasnt trying to hear it. I told her with tears that something isnt right and she told me Dr. Barnwell had a meeting. Really??!!?! My son can barely breathe, especially through the night and your response is that he has a meeting??!! AGAIN, I went back after my son shot up a fever of 103 that night and FINALLY nurse Michelle took me and lo and behold....my son had PNEUMONIA!! She rushed to give a shot of a steroid, antibiotic and a breathing treatment. A week later test results revealed he had RSV - so if they had run that test to begin with, the pneumonia could have been prevented...smh They need to work on caring....everybody does.

I have taken my twins to Dr. Barnwell for seven years now and we were some of his first patients as he started his career out of school. I wont see anyone but him, for he was very impressive! I still remember the first visit when he actually got down on the floor to examine the twins so he could be on their level. The twins had an issue with saying his name and found it easier to call him Dr. Bubba, he did not mind at all, and they still do it upon slip up, today. The place is very clean and staff are pretty friendly to talk with. I like the fact that Dr. Barnwell has even called me himself with test results, and answers to questions I have called and left messages for. I have never had to wait until the next day for a call back from either him or a nurse in the office. The wait time is long, and parking is often tight, but with excellent doctors now a days, everywhere is the same. They are awesome!

Absolutly Love this Drs Office...Dr. Barnwell is the nicest Doctor Ive dealt with. My daughter is now 18 and will have to go to another Family Practice due to her age:( But Thankfully my son is only 12 so we have many more years to enjoy this Doctors Office . The Staff makes you feel welcomed and that they appreciate your business. They are always quick to respond if you leave a message:) Im so glad that I was referred to this Doctors office several years ago, just wished it was sooner lol THANKS TO THE WHOLE STAFF FOR BEING AWESOME:))))

We used to live in Locust Grove, I took my then 10 year old son to Dr. Barnwell for his school sports physical. Here it is 4 years later and we have since relocated to Decatur. I still take my son to Locust Grove to see Dr. Barnwell!!! He is and excellent Dr. and my son has gotten used to him. It is at least 45 minutes out of our way, but it is well worth it!

Love Dr. Barnwell! Like others said, wait is long and parking is tight, but the care is excellent. Dr. B has called me himself with test results and always listens to my concerns carefully, and praises on good parenting and health concerns. He is so sweet, even gave me a hug on several occasions, and is so kind to the kids. I wish he would treat adults too!

My daughter was the first case of whooping cough to come back in 07 and after seeing every doctor in the locust Grove and Riverdale campus we saw dr. Barnwell and just looking at her he diagnosed her and saved her life. He is truly the best doctor I could have asked for. Now we are having baby #2 in a few months and baby Brody will be seeing him to!

Most amazing Dr. I have ever met! Super nice, explains things clearly! Never had a question or concern he didnt address. Personally has called with test results. I visited with a friend while pregnant, was impressed so I took my baby there. Shes almost a year old and I will never by the grace of God take her anywhere else.

I had a wonderful experience today! I took my boys age 15 & 10 as a first time visit to become established. Dr. Barnwell was very pleasant and thorough with his evaluation/examination of my boys. Exactly what i was looking for. He listened!! His staff was also very sweet and collective. I found a keeper!!
