Worst Clinic ever. We had two pets die within months of each other by the offices "recommendations" first one was 2 years old. We did blood work and they said he was just dehydrated, give him water and hell be fine. We did exactly as they said. He ended up dying in his bed of "dehydration" less than a week later. No explaination for his death was given. The second dog is our 12 year old. We had him since a baby. He was feeling sick crying all the time eating less. We took him to this vet and got blood work. They said he has osteoporosis and is just "old" gave us meds and that was it. Another week later he got worse. Lost alot of weight. Wouldnt eat. Cried all the time. Couldnt control his bowels. We took him to the er, they checked his blood, 700 blood sugar! It went from no problem to 700 in a week! For a dog? Are you kidding me. The doctor told us we would need to pump him full of fluids but that will probably stress him out more than he already was, the other option was to put him down. We didnt want to put him through anymore pain. How to do go from having "normal" blood sugar to 700 in a week! We contacted this office informed them of his death, told them that we were disappointed in the level of care we recieved from them and asked for our other dogs records, its been a month and we have not heard a word from them. This place is pure garbage.

I would say they are well equipped to handle your pets health. Your just going to have to fight for their attention. I think the environment is dirty and the staff is less than happy. Weve switched to another vet after almost losing our puppy to an infection post nurturing. MAKE them give you a cone and antibiotics. They seem to want to do everything on the cheap and then have an attitude that you are the problem when having issues. Its not a friendly place as a whole. Also they seem interested in distancing themselves from any kind of blame. Makes me wonder how often bad things are happening.

I have been a customer with Northwest Animal Hospital for 5 years (my pups age) from the beginning of my puppys life. We actually traveled for years from Downtown to Des Plaines to go to Dr. Schaele after moving closer to Des Plaines just to see Dr. Schaele who has been so attentive, caring, nurturing and extremely attentive. He actually gets on the floor to make your dog more comfortable during the checkup. Our puppy is our baby and Dr. Schaele gets it! I would highly recommend Dr. Schaele and Northwest Animal Hospital for their professionalism and exceptional care they provide.

We have been taking our Staffie sisters there for going on 9 years and have never had a problem. The facility is never dirty that I have noticed just the opposite, especially the exam rooms. Staff is friendly and the Doctors are experienced and take their time with questions. "our" vet came from a former practice and took us a while to find him there why we stopped going to the former mega clinic and like the small friendly atmosphere here so much better, and will continue there as long as we live in this state.

The phone staff is the worst I’ve ever encountered. While there may be some good vets, the phone staff has and will continue to cost them loyal clients, particularly a woman named Gina. If you want to speak to kind, patient, professional people when you call with a question, and also feel that youre a valued client, then this is not the vet for you.

Cant tell you how fantastic the folks are over at Northwest! My little guys meds were lost on Christmas Eve this year... They went out of their way to make sure that he was medicated for the holidays. Thank you so much, you saved our Christmas! PS Were moving in May and dread the thought of having to find another vet :( Well miss you Dr. George.

I trust these fine people with both my beloved pets. The front desk people are always friendly and the vets are caring, conscientious, thorough, and informative. I know they care for many stray animals as well, The cost of visits is better than most. I have taken my two dogs there for three years.

I will not be taking my dog back to this location due to the attitudes of the staff. They severely lacked customer service skills and I felt like I was at the dmv. My dog means a lot to me and I deeply regret taking her there.
