In over 50 years as a pet owner, Ive never had occasion to write a review about my pets care, but for the well being of other pets I am doing so now. -The price quoted for specific services over the phone was not what was charged. Less was provided and more was charged. I would say you get what you pay for but there is no savings in going to Banfield; it costs more than going to a truly accredited facility and vet. The care is poor quality and its a waste of time. -The pet was removed from the room even with stated objection for the exam which lasted no more than 4 minutes. -A rash clearly visible on the hind leg of the pet was not noticed by the vet or whomever actually provided the exam. When pointed out to the vet, she raised no concern but at check out long after the exam had been completed and the pet was no longer in her care she sent the assistant to suggest a topical spray at an additional charge. The spray was declined and when the assistant communicated this to the vet she returned to then tell us that the pet should then be quarantined for a week. One might conclude that the topical spray was somehow to keep the rash from being contagious but thats not the case so its not clear what one thing had to do with the other. Had we purchased the spray for $12 would we have even received the follow up recommendation from the vet to quarantine the pet? -This pet was a rescue found left out on the streets. The goal of the veterinary visit which was clearly communicated was to establish if the pet was healthy enough to release into the house with two other pets during the foster period while a new home could be found. Had it been communicated at the time of the exam that there was any concern about the rash and that it would necessitate a week long quarantine and a return visit, we wouldnt have proceeded with the other services. We can only conclude that the focus here was on retail up charge on not pet care. -After an hour at Banfield, we will now go to an accredited animal care facility, with trained staff and a tenured veterinarian for an exam. This was a bad experience for all but most importantly for the pet. Dont waste your time and money and take your pet to a place where they can truly be cared for. The rash has now been evaluated by an accredited veterinary facility and has been identified as light scabbing from an abrasion and nothing at all contagious. Take care of your pet and dont go to Banfield.

I called Banfield before taking my puppy there to check out their services and pricing. They told me that for a regular physical it would be $40 and for a rabies vaccine, the other thing i had asked about, would be $30. I took my puppy last week for her physical, which was overall not the best experience. They told me they didnt have time to do the rabies vaccine then so I made her an appointment for the next week, and they mentioned again that the cost for the vaccine would be $30. My husband took our puppy to get the vaccine and they told him she would have to get another physical in order to get the vaccine as their policy is that a physical exam is needed at each visit regardless of the nature of the visit. We had not been told that, and the only reason i didnt have it done last week when she had her physical was because they werent able to do it then. My husband told them all this, yet they still insisted that it must be done and we had to give them another $40. My husband refused to give them any extra payment and left without having the procedure done. We were lied to and mistreated, and we will not be returning there. We will find another vet for our puppy, one which cares about their patients and their owners, and not just their revenue.

First of all, the staf from this location is changing all the time, but is not this my problem, I was there to ask from the front desk if I could pick up a prescription because my dog has a ear infection and I can wait until my appoiment, the afro-american lady from the desk she rush me and said to me that she can help me if I dont have an appointment and the doctor is busy, and I said to her to go and ask the doctor (they have on history everything about the dog)about the medication because my dog has the ear inflammation, she ignore me ,stay on computer and pushing the chair around with her knees like she was home in her room at the desk! So ai ask her again can you talk with the doctor ,and I try to tell her that I have an appointment on 2 weeks ,she said to me that Im crazy and she is not talking with me,so I ask her name si she refuse to tell me and she ran on the back . Im very disappointed with the front desk. (The best doctor the is doctor Rossen) i have 9 years since Im going there, but because is not the first time with front desk probeme, this time I m not going to close my eyes,is too much.

Cannot provide correct information. Do not follow-up. Ordered prescription food online after buying it in the store for a few years. In order to process it I had to provide the original prescription. Banfield took my original prescription from the vet in order to give me a card that would let me buy the food in the store. When I asked them to provide necessary information for PetSmart online group I was told that it will be done the same day. Two days later I receive a note from online order that they havent gotten anything. So I call Banfield again and NOW they tell me I need to call the vet who provided prescription b/c they dont have the copy they took from me on file. Needless to say all this time my cat is waiting for food and they couldnt even follow-up that same day to tell me that. I was expecting better cooperation between PetSmart and Banfield but they seem to not be talking at all, so disappointing. Thanks a lot Banfield, great service you got there.

In town for a short time - I called to get a booster for parvo - this Banfield location said I would need to repeat the vaccination set because it had been too long since the initial shot. I called the Banfield where Id gotten the first vaccination and they said there was still time to get a booster as long as it was done in the next week, so I called the Evanston Banfield to let them know. Evanston Banfield said theyd only have availability to do the vaccination 8 days later. Checked the calendar and confirmed that the first Banfield said that date would be ok. Evanston Banfield then said it doesnt matter and that the shots need to be repeated twice and two office visits would need to be paid for. Wow.. shady. I dont think Banfields are all bad but this place seems more interested in money grubbing than animal healthcare.

I have 2 dogs, and both of them are cared for at this Banfield location. The staff is super affectionate and they care for my dogs as if they are their own. Editing after having a longer experience with them. Down to 1 star because they never have any time available for my dogs when there is any type of emergency situation. If they offer a "drop off appointment" they want you to pay an extra 41 dollars just for them to look at the animal to tell you whats wrong. Im a customer who has opted to enroll in the pet care plan they offer for your animal and i dont feel as if me or my pets are valued.
