I have had pets my entire life, and in that time, have taken them to about eight different animal hospitals -- none of which I was completely satisfied with -- until now. I will never again take my animals anywhere else but Vale Park -- even though it means an hour drive for me. All of the veterinarians at Vale Park are all wonderful, but I cant say enough about Dr. Rodenbarger (they call him Dr. Jerry). He is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain to you exactly what is going on and what your options are. The animals absolutely love him and his upbeat personality -- he really has a special touch, and you can see the difference in them when he is in the room -- they just calm down. I cant say enough good things about him -- he recently helped us through a very tough time with our cat -- and I know that he had the very best care with Dr. Jerry. The staff at Vale Park is equally fantastic. They ALWAYS greet you with big smiles and hugs for your pets. I have never experienced a moody or disgruntled person at Vale Park -- and I think thats so important because the animals feel that vibe and one negative person behind the desk can make them fearful of the visiting the vet. Once, my dog was getting sick in the car and I had to call to let them know Id be about an hour late because I had to drive slowly -- they were so nice and told me not to worry at all -- just to get there when I could. The atmosphere in that office is purely positive. Finally, I want to mention the office itself. Its beautiful and spotless. I always feel that if a veterinary staff cant even keep a clean office, then how much can I really trust them with my animals? I have no worries like that at Vale Park -- its always clean. I suppose Ive gone on long enough -- but weve spent a lot of time there lately with our cat, and I thought it was important that I let others know how truly wonderful this animal hospital is.

The administration of Vale Park Animal Hospital are CHEATS. We bought a kitten from the Valparaiso Animal Shelter, and the shelter was wonderful, straightforward, and everything they told us was honored. I cannot say the same about Vale Park Animal Hospital. Kittens need a checkup about a week within purchase, and I called around to the places the shelter said would examine for free. I decided on Vale Park Animal Hospital because the receptionist made it unequivocally clear that the entire visit would be free of charge - including treatments. We took the adorable kitten Cindy Clawford to Vale Park, she was treated, and they then claimed after the treatment that WE OWED THEM. I explained that their staff told us otherwise. It didnt matter what their staff said: I am responsible for THEIR MISINFORMATION. The administrators name was Jaime Eileen who admitted explicitly that the receptionist did indeed give me that misinformation, that no charge was discussed before the treatments (for reasons that are not difficult to figure), and that Vale Park Animal Hospital was still entitled to my livelihood despite their word. In essence, they forced me to pay for THEIR MISTAKE. Ladies and gentlemen, when you say you will do something, and you do not, you are in the wrong - its called honesty and responsibility. I must say: the vets were kind and professional - do not think otherwise dear reader. However, when their cash was threatened, Vale Park Animal Hospital threw me under the bus. Readers, please dont encourage bad behavior.

Never have put a review in for any business but this was a bad experience for me and my pet. I was in the process of moving and needed to take my dog in because he had an ear infection. I gave them my past vets information and was told that I havent taken my dog to a vet since 2011, but I said his rabies tag was up to date could you look it up with that number and was told by the veterinary assistant that anyone can put a tag on a dog. She wouldnt believe me, so I was making suggestions how can I prove that my dog was up to date with his shots. Then they found the rest of my past vets information. That was very insulting to me, but to come in for a ear infection and to pay $161.54, they make me understand why so many people cant afford to own a dog.

Dr. Jerry was excellent when my cat needed to have a tooth extraction, so they do have some good and competent staff, but Dr. Sheller advised me at one point to euthanize my 13 year old cat who was sick with an upper respiratory infection. She told me that 13 was a long life for a cat and maybe it was time to say goodbye. I left in tears knowing in my heart that that was not the right decision, so I took matters into my own hands. With a short course of antibiotic treatment, my cat cleared up and went on to live another 2 years. Additionally, their services are overpriced, so if youre looking for the best service in the area to take your fur babies at the most economical prices, this isnt the place!

I was looking for a vet clinic in NW Indiana that could do some blood work and have the answer for me the same day. I am not from the area.....I found this clinic online They where absolutely Wonderful! got the blood work and breeding done the same day! I have since returned to the clinic for routine check ups and they are the most wonderful and compassionate VET CLINIC IN NW INDIANA, having gone to TWO OTHER clinics in the Munster area that completely misdiagnosed my dog and performed unnecessary procedure on one of my dogs I WONT GO TO ANY OTHER CLINIC....in this area but VALE PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL! their prices are comparable to my clinic out of state.... they are awesome!

I love this place. They cared for both of the dogs we had. Both are gone now. The care they show our mutts are beyond words to describe. The staff was excellent with our pets from the time they were pups until the time they were 14 and time to say goodbye. I cannot thank them enough. I havent had a dog in over a year and a half, but plan on getting a pup at the end of this month when he is ready to leave the litter. Thats how I happen to come across this and needed to share this and to tell everyone what a truly great and caring place this is.

We love this place. We drive 45 minutes each way from Munster because of how great we believe all of their vets and vet techs are. They all truly care about your animals and you can tell each time you visit there. We have tried every vet within 5-10 miles of our home and have never found any place that is even close to Vale Park.

Dr. Kim Juhlin is the BEST vet I have ever dealt with. She brought my dog back to good digestion without medications. He is now on a natural food diet and any signs of upset digestion have disappeared. She is compassionate and highly intelligent. Highly recommended.

Vale Park doctors go above and beyond when it comes to care for your animals. This care extends to the animal owners as well. The doctor and staff go through every emotion with the family. The team treats our pets as if they were their own.
