GSH.....better known as Government Subsidized Hospital. The first question the receptionist *should* ask at GSH is "are you rich?" GSH is a BUSINESS. They are NOT there to help you, they exist to make money by administering tests and scans that have nothing to do with patient symptoms or reasons for admittance. And the tests a patient does need are priced at 4x-5x the "blue book" amount that should be expected by any honest patient that knows paying for services rendered is part of the agreement. You just dont know this until you get hit with the bill. And paying ridiculous prices for services wouldnt be so bad if you didnt leave the hospital with the exact problems you came with. Ive attempted to negotiate my bill and Im met with appalled looks and almost disdain for even attempting to have the thought of negotiating my bill. They wont even tell me how they calculate the prices for any given service. GSH takes Government money (yes, taxpayer dollars) then refuses to negotiate bills with their patients or follow the law of Title 16 that states hospitals must allocate financial aid to low income individuals, like students or the unemployed, as long as the hospital accepts taxpayer money. Believe me, Ive tried.

The lady at the desk at the health pavilion was rude to us. I needed a wheel chair for my mom because she is on oxygen and cant walk well. We we were told we cant have a wheel chair in the waiting room. I tried to explain that to the lady. She pretty much called me lier and took The wheel chair. Doctor ashworth is the doctor who did my sisters lung biopsy and was rude and yelled at us because my mom was joking and said lets get this started to the staff up at counter. I tried to explain to ashworth that my mom isnt memtally all the way there. My mom probably thought she was at work. She worked at good sam for a long time years ago. Ashworth wouldnt listen and was refusing to do my sisters surgery at first and said we can go some where else. I was trying to explain to the doctor my mom isnt mentally all they there do to her oxygen level and jokes a lot like a child. My mom was not mean in anyway saying it. I will not be back or my family. I will let everyone know how doctors and staff treat family members and patients. Ive posted it all over the net. The nurse did come back and talk to me and apologize for the doctors behavior. It wasnt even the nurses fault. Ashworth didnt even once apologize.

The ICU staff especially the nurses Drew and Susan were really really really really great my daddy got admitted in the ICU last Thursday he was on a ventilator up until this past Monday 1-30-2017 when my daddy went to Heaven to be with the Great Lord Up Above they was there at Ur every needs and when my daddy was getting restless we told them and they came right in and did what they were suppose to do they were really really really really wonderful with my daddy and including the respiratory therapist they did a great job also my family cant thank you guys enuf for all yall did for my daddy and my mommy and us you guys were wonderful and there for us till my daddy took his last breath and until they took him off to the funeral hope thank you again all of yall love to u all!!!!!!!!!!

The nurses are rude, but on the other hand the doctors are sweet and help the best they can. I dont trust good Sam because they show little care ship about their patients, and I was waiting for over two hours in the waiting room to get a bed because apparently if a young woman walks in there and says she feels shes having a miscarriage and looks as if shes been crying for hours, didnt know that meant it was okay to make her wait in a chair for 2+ hours. Good job

I had a horrible experience with their Physical therapy. They only took about 2 minutes to evaluate me and then handed me a piece of paper, made me do the stretches, on my own, while she sat in a chair and then sent me home. This half hour, worthless, unhelpful visit is costing me $500 out of my pocket.

This has been my hospital for over 20 years and had excellent care in spite of 1 or 2 aides thru the years not doing their job. Plus, if you get admitted from Er between meals, the cafeteria gets in no hurry to send a mail up when the nurse requests it. I fully trust their ER care 100%.

The fact that this hospital claims to be a "world class facility" is a JOKE! Do your yourself and your loved ones a favor by not walking in the front doors. Instead, drive the extra miles down to Evansville or Terre Haute. By making this decision, it will save your life!

Wouldnt go anywhere else. Staff always careing and friendly. Husband has multiple heath problems, always have given him excellent care. Made our stays a excellent experience. God Bless the doctors and staff.

Excellent Hospital-They saved my life. They also have some of the best doctors on staff. Others I know have to drive to St. Louis for care that is less than what is given here. Highly Recommend!
