We have now taken our two dogs to this particular vet 3 times. The first time was as to be expected, although the wait time was longer than anticipated. The second time took even longer. The third time was the longest, as we took both dogs at the same time. My frustration with this clinic is that to draw labs, even a simple T4 or heartworm draw, they take the dog away from you into the back of the clinic. This only furthers the anxiety the dog may be going through. The last two time we have gone it has taken at least 45 minutes to complete the visit. This is way too long. Our border collie, who had waited too long and got too stressed out, once finally seeing the vet for his wellness check (and barely got one anyway since he was too anxious by the time she came in - we were still charged!) then had to have a muzzle placed because he started to act out and growl. I dont blame them for being scared that he would bite, although he never would. I am afraid that I will now be left with a dog who is scared to go to the vet when he used to LOVE going. You could tell him he was going to the doctor and he would go bananas. All in all, very underwhelmed and quite irritated at how this has played out. We will not be coming back to Heart of Ankeny Vet.

My boyfriend and I took our cat Reginald here and we loved it! She helped get his health back to normal when he had an eye issue and it was a comfortable environment and the staff and Doctor were all super nice and welcoming! The clinic is gorgeous and clean and pretty spacious. The prices are also very reasonable compared to other places. My sister also takes her new pup to Heart of Ankeny and lovies it as well! Nothing but good reviews here! Will be coming back for more appointments! Keep up the great work!

I have a really hard time leaving my dogs while Im working out of State. Dr. Munger and her staff took exceptional care of my boys last week and even took pictures and posted them on Facebook! Im so thankful to have finally found a place that I trust to care for my dogs. I highly recommend Heart of Ankeny Animal Hospital to everyone like me, who loves their "Fur Kids" and wants the best care possible for them!

I cant say enough great things about Dr. Munger and her staff! Today was our first visit and I especially appreciate everyone taking the time to explain their services and let me know prices as the exam went along. You dont get that at other pet clinics. Bernard appreciated them taking the time to keep him comfortable and his exam was over before he knew it! Love this place and well be back for sure!

My dog loves coming here! I really like that they have different care plans so you can pick what plan works best for you and your dog. Ive had to board Aspen twice now and even though I have a hard time leaving her its really reassuring to me that as soon as you walk through the door everyone knows your dog by name. Its a great place and I would highly recommend it!
