His office staff is incompetent and rude! Because of their mess up with my appointment time I received attitude from the little girl behind the desk. She insisted a different time and that I was wrong and he was gone so I couldnt be seen. I politely asked to reschedule and left. Being in such a bad mental I broke down from the encounter and called my mother in hysterics. I explained to her I definitely had the right time written down (as did she) and maybe if they just called to confirm my appointment (which pretty much every doctors officw does ) then I couldve actually been there on time and there wouldnt of been an issue. I also told her in tears how I thought it was sad how someone who was as depressed as me could be treated so poorly by the people who Im seeking for help! My mother called the office staff and voiced these concerns. Dr. Fains response, instead of apologizing for the occurrence, told me to find another doctor. Never have I encountered a doctor or office like this who not only made their patient feel worse but then denied them help for standing up for themselves! WORST DOCTOR EVER!

Ive been seeing Dr. Fain for a little over a year now, and the experience has really been wonderful. Ive always struggled with the thought of being on medications-- but Dr. Fain really understands what he is prescribing and cares about the effect it has on his patients. If something isnt working, he doesnt just pile more meds on top or shotgun to find another result-- he discusses the options and makes a decision WITH you about whats best. I really trust him and thats so important when it comes to mental health! His office manager is amazing-- super organized and always friendly. Any time I call, she finds a way to help me. Ive never had to call her twice for the same issue. She finds a way to work around my busy schedule and you can tell that her and Dr. Fain work really well together. Im so surprised to see any negative reviews. Dr. Fain isnt going to tell you what you want to hear all the time, but this office genuinely cares about what is best for their patients. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who wants an honest and caring doctor with a competent and kind office staff!

Without a doubt the worst experience you can imagine!!!!! He displayed no tactfulness at all. I was there to discuss issues with anxiety and within 5 minutes he was calling me a liar because I checked both "yes" and "No" accidentally on a check list. Not only does the man not deserve to hold the title of "doctor" but he ironically came off as a text-book psychopath (grandiose sense of self worth & manipulative/cunning/empathetic). He even admitted to having judged me a "high risk patient" before i walked in the door because he overheard me talking about problems with my health insurance coverage at the front desk. But that didnt stop him from charging me when he became so irrational that I decided to leave after 15 minutes. I basically began to have an anxiety attack in his office and had to leave.

Going to see Dr. Thomas Fain was one of the best decisions Ive ever made. I felt that I was in good hands from the get go. The office staff was very kind to me and went out of their way to make sure my insurance would cover my appointment before I ever came in. Then when I met with Dr. Fain it became clear that he has a lot of experience and really knows what hes talking about. It also shows that he really cares. Ive been to a lot of doctors and psychiatrists over the years and they all would just write the script, hand it to me, and leave without really hearing my complaints or what was going on with me. I give Dr. Fain my 5 star approval. And this is coming from someone who has seen a ton of doctors! I definitely recommend him.

Horrible, thats the best way I can describe my experience with Mr. Fain. He is supposed to be there to help but really seems to have serious issues of his own. Ive had two encounters with him and they were both horrible. He will scrutinize everything you do as well as things you dont do, in other words, if you make any mistakes on your paperwork they give you when you walk in, be prepared to be judged for it. Also, I reviewed the report he wrote on me, I have never in my live been so humiliated by what he wrote. Bad enough he totally trashed me as a person but his report caused me to lose my career because of it. There is so much more I could write, but, hopefully you get the point.

My partner was recommended to this "doctor". After trying samples of multiple things to help him, my partner was given his latest medication sample yesterday. This morning, he woke up with nausea, dizziness, and was pale. Upon a quick Google search, on the medications website (this is important), it says that this medication has side effects with another medication my partner takes for cluster headaches. However, when told about this, the good doctor claims that it HAS NO SIDE EFFECTS. At all. Throughout the rest of the conversation, he was incredibly rude and suggested that the side effects were made up by my partner. Thomas Fain is rude and utterly full of himself.

My partner traveled from New Orleans to see Dr. Fain, on a recommendation from another practitioner. Since he has family in Baton Rouge, the commute wasnt an issue - we just wanted to get him good, expert care since he was experiencing a crisis situation. Not only was Dr. Fain running considerably late, when my partner was finally allowed to see him, the good doctor expressed bafflement that my partner had traveled so far, wrote up a referral for a doctor in New Orleans, and promptly ejected him from his office. Naturally, charging for the full appointment. Is this guy lazy, or just cruel? Who knows!

I called in right before the holidays to make a last minute appointment (Christmas is always high anxiety for me), and the office staff went out of their way to get me in and checked my insurance very quickly. I came into the office and met with Dr, Fain. He was great! He listened to everything I had to say and was very straight forward with me. He really knows his stuff when it comes to medications. I made it through Christmas (with the help of him and his staff), and will continue seeing him. Great doctor and great experience!

Great experience. His secretaries were awesome and he really knows his stuff. I went to him for medication. And he explained all of my options in detail. I felt very knowledgeable of my options when I left.
