Im so shocked by the negative reviews here that I had to take a moment and weigh in. I drive from DC to North Laurel Animal Hospital specifically for Dr. Kris Covert, who is the best vet I have ever dealt with in 20+ years of pet ownership. She takes as much time as you need to be sure you understand what is up with your family member. She calls to check in. She is INCREDIBLY friendly, warm, and upbeat, and she knows just how to navigate you through loss -- I cannot imagine anyone else standing with me as I said goodbye to my beloved furry friend after 15 years. The staff has been nothing but welcoming and pleasant and friendly to me. NEVER have I waited more than a couple of minutes to see the vet, and never have I waited more than a couple of minutes to check out. This service is top notch. I am surrounded by vets in my neighborhood but would rather drive 45 minutes to see Dr. Covert. She is very worthy of trust. I just do not understand these negative reviews. Some people are impossible to please.

These people are great. I was referred by my neighbor and I can clearly see why she likes them. My dog Wonder, loves them to. She gets excited when we are pulling the parking lot. Everyone there is super friendly, from the receptionists to both vets. They send out postcards with reminders of when Wonder is due for a vaccination or checkup, specifically saying what is needed. That is helpful to a new pet owner. Wonder had two problems when I got her as a puppy. They were able to diagnose and treat both quickly. PS after posting I scrolled through some of the posts and saw two older very negative posts. I can say my experience has been totally different than either of them. They have been able to give me appts. on relatively short notice. I have never had to wait very long. Certainly less time than I wait at most Dr offices.

Dr. Bob and the North Laurel Animal Hospital staff have been a part of our family for 10+ yrs. We first entrusted our beloved Checkers veterinarian and grooming care to North Laurel Animal Hospital. Sadly, when it came time to say goodbye to Checkers we entrusted his rainbow bridge transition to North Laurel Animal Hospital as well. As a family we were devastated to have to say goodbye to Checkers. However, the love, care and concern Dr. Bob and staff extended to our family has been a very crucial part of our grieving and healing process. Therefore, when we adopted our little Parker we never thought twice about his veterinary, grooming and boarding care. From the looks of it Parkers happy as well as Dr. Bob and the North Laurel Animal Hospital and staff; which makes us extremely happy! Sincerely, The Burketh Family

Dr. Bob is the rudest most difficult person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. He is pushy and opinionated. He ridiculed my decision to put down my cat after she had stopped eating and had multiple diseases and conditions. I had been trying to treat her condition for more than three months, and I knew my poor kitty wanted it to end when she refused to eat any more. Dr. Bob had the gall to tell me he thought he was the only one fighting for my cat. I had to take her someplace else to put down. Two other vets at the other hospital told me I was absolutely doing the right thing because my cat was suffering so much and animals know when its time to end. The whole experience with Dr. Bob was one of the must difficult experiences of my life. I would never recommend Dr. Bob to anyone who loves their pet.

I cant understand some of these reviews! Wouldnt put down your cat? Hes a vet, hes supposed to care more about your animal than he cares about you. You have a doctor to care for you. I have been taking my lab to Dr. Bob for 6 plus years now. He is caring, understands financial issues and will work with you. His prices are higher than other places but, I think the level of service and care you receive is worth it. Dr. Covert is also really good and caring. The one thing this vet office will not do, is risk your pets health to make you happy. Sorry you had to wait 45 minutes with your cat with the sniffles, but did you ever stop to think maybe he was taking care of something more important at the time?

I absolutelty love this place and would never dream of going elsewhere! After 13 healthy and energetic years, my old buddy developed a gold-ball sized tumor overnight. It was diagnosed as a fast spreading cancer. Dr. Bob and staff were sympathetic and kind- everything you could ask for. We were able to remove the tumor once to buy us a little more time- but only with the help of Dr Bob. Because he was willing to work with us on the bill payments, we were able to spend one more month with Monty before he was laid to rest. It made all of the difference. I can never thank North Laurel enough for making it possible to say goodbye properly. These are good people, and I am a customer for life!

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Bob at NLAH for 23 years. He is compassionate and efficient. My "big ol dog" is about to turn 14 and I wouldnt trust his care to anyone else. Cindy, the groomer, takes such good care of Rascal (the old dog) when I bring him in for grooming. She also takes care of all of Skyes (our younger dog) allergy issues when she grooms him. The front desk staff are always warm and greet me and my pets right away. I havent met a staff member I wasnt impressed with. Such an awesome office. I should add that Rascal has had several surgeries while under Dr. Bobs care. Each one was a success. I highly recommend NLAH for your pets.

I have been to a few different vets, and this one was the most aggrevating. We did not get seen any earlier than 45 minutes after our scheduled appointment. We were waiting for over an hour and a half during one visit with our sick, scared cat on our laps the entire time. Their prices are outrageously high, and their estimates are nowhere near the actual price...the actual price is always much higher. The receptionists are not friendly, and they do not inform you if there is going to be a long wait. Overall, I was very disatisifed with the service we received there, and I regret paying them so much for such terrible service.

We love NLAH so much. We left our last vet to come here when our previous vet did a poor job diagnosing and caring for our extremely ill pup. She ended up dying weeks into their care because of the poor diagnosis from our other vet. NLAH ran tests and immediately knew what was wrong with our girl. They took care of Luna and treated her as if they had her since a pup despite picking up pieces of her crappy treatment. We got a new dog and loyally drive 25 minutes to get to this office because of the love and care and honesty all the vets and techs provide. I highly recommend this vet to anyone pet owner.
