Staff is very rude, arrogant and lack customer service skills.....very unprofessional! Dr. Risa is very ignorant and arrogant. When you try to explain your problem to her she cut you off or ignore you and continue on. She does not listen to her patients at all. "Miss Know It All" She act like she knows everything and the patient knows nothing about the problems that they are having with their own skin. When she prescribed me with a medication I had an allergic reaction to it. I called her office and left a message to inform her, she refused to change my prescription and said that it was one of the side effects of the medication, that my skin will clear soon. She do not call you to speak with you personally when you have an issue with your skin or the medication. She have her staff to call you back with a response. In order to speak with her you would have to make another appointment. I continued to use the medication and it kept getting worse and didnt change. I finally went to another dermatologist and had my prescription changed. My skin cleared up. My cousin and my friend also scheduled an appointment with her. Her staff told my cousin that they accept her insurance over the phone. When she drove all the way to her office from downtown to see her, they denied her stating that they do not accept her insurance. She informed them that when she made the appointment over the phone the staff who scheduled the appointment said that they accept her insurance, if they didnt she would not have made the appointment. The staff would not listen and cut her off. She asked what was the price for an office visit the staff told her that they didnt know and it can range. When she tried to reschedule her appointment her staff told her that it was a reschedule fee of $50.00 and when she come back she need to have a credit card with her. She told her staff that she should not have to pay a reschedule fee when it was a mistake on their behalf. They told her that she still have to pay. My cousin left the building. When my friend went to see her, she informed Dr. Jampel that she has hepatitis. Dr. Jampel frowned then caught herself and tried to play it off, then act like she didnt want to touch her. My friend felt very uncomfortable afterwards and never went back.

There is no better feeling than to know that you have a doctor in your corner that you have been with for more than 20 years. Way back when I began my history with Dr. Jampel who would have thought that 20 years later I would still be going to her and then one day be bringing my own children to her. I started seeing Dr. Jampel for acne and have been seeing her through my adult years for various skin concerns. I feel that she is always up on the most current approaches to my skin challenges. Her knowledge of skin issues is by far exceeding and on the cutting edge. I have always felt that I can talk to her about my frustrations regarding my adult acne. I feel that she wants to help me in every way that she possibly can and she has tried various approaches of which many have been extremely successful. There has been much improvement with the approaches and medication managment she has prescribed. When I call or visit Dr. Jampels office, the staff is always helpful and friendly. If I leave a message for Dr. Jampel with a question about me or about my teenage daughters skin problems she always gets back to me that day. I never feel as though I bother her at all. If need be prescriptions are called into the pharmacy for me in a timely fashion. Dr. Jampel is a true professional and support to her patients. Over the past two decades I have referred more than a dozen friends and co-workers to her. At this point Dr. Jampel knows my family members names and has a genuine interest in me and my family. Someone recenlty asked me if I would ever move away from Baltimore and the first thing I thought about is how would I ever find the wonderful doctors that I have and trust as much as I do. Dr. Jampel is one of the doctors I see who I would never want to lose because she could not be replaced.

I absolutely agree with the 1st reviewer, Dr. Risa Jampell is simply one of the worst professionals I have ever seen. She is completely arrogant and ignorant as the reviewer said. I had acne problem and I tried to explain to her what I think is causing and she kept cutting me. She just wont listen. She told me to not use Retina until the next appointment and yet when I went for the follow up she made me feel all dumb asking, why I didnt use it! :O ridiculous! Oh and did I mention during both visits she arrived half hour late than my appointment time which was very inconvenient as I took time off from work didnt expect that it will be extended this much, Although the visit itself never lasted for more than 5-10 minutes! So basically you go there wait for her half hour just so she can see you for 5-10 minutes and even then she is COMPLETELY IGNORANT AND MEAN!! Also, one of the prescription according to RiteAid needed authorization from her and they have been waiting for more than a week waiting for her reply. Although she asked that I should schedule a follow up, I am never in my life going back again. Definitely switching. Please do not waste your time, find a better doctor, this is total waste of time and money,

Dr. Jampel has been my dermatologist for about 13 years. She has successfully seen me through multiple melanomas. Her skills and care are the very best. The principle criticism of her in a couple of reviews appears to be that she isnt chatty. That makes no sense to me. I go to a doctor to get cured, not to have a coffee klatch. In and out as fast as possible. And when I leave I know that one of the best professionals in the business has given my issues her attention. As to the reception staff, I find them charming.
