Pros: * Doctors are good Cons: Incompetent and rude front staff. Details below: * Our daughter landed up in the ER with 105 F fever. On our return home, we were able to get in touch with the doctors at the ER more easily than her primary care doctor at ABC. The front staff and nurses were in-compassionate and uninterested. We ended up in the ER again without having once spoken to her primary care doctor. * Multiple times the front staff failed to send the medical records over to specialists after claiming to have sent them already. I ended up having to recall my daughters history at the specialists. * After the above experience, I requested them to give me copies of the medical records. They refused to cooperate. * Front staff (not the nurse) will discuss test results and give medical advice. * We learned about a urinary tract infection from the front staff when the on call physician should have been paged. My daughter has a condition called kidney reflux in which UTIs need to be treated with utmost urgency. The front staff told us that a physician would contact us the next day. My daughters care was delayed by 48 hours. * Front staff will contradict and try to overrule the advice given by specialists at Childrens Hospital Boston about what records the specialist needs. Our GI requested her growth charts which were not sent over to her because the front staff "did not think" that they were required. * We expressed dissatisfaction and raised our concerns with her doctor multiple times. The situation remained unchanged despite repeated assurances. * The list is longer than what would be pertinent to put on here - but you get the general idea. * Just as an FYI - Fran is the lady on the front staff with whom we have had the most problems. The other front staff is not much better though. Bottom line: Only good for the lucky few whose child never has to deal with more than an occasional cold or the odd ear infection. It will be extremely hard to deal with the front staff if your childs care is even remotely more complicated than that.

We love Dr. David Pangburn. My boys have been seeing him their whole lives and my oldest was so upset when he "aged" out of pediatric care when he graduated from college that he tried to find a loophole in the insurance policy to continue to see Dr. Dave. Dr. Pangburn was there for us when one of my sons went through a long-term kidney issue constantly checking in and working with the specialists at Childrens to insure my son received the best possible care. If it were possible, I would give the practice 10 stars as the other doctors at the practice were fabulous at stepping in and filling in when Dr. Pangburn was unavailable. We, as a family, cant say enough good things.

My children have been seeing Dr. Mary Colpoys for years. They are extremely fortunate to have her as their pediatrician. I have accolades for not only Dr. Colpoys, but the entire staff as well. I would like to address a derogatory comment that was made below about a staff member on 2/24/10. Fran is very competent and has always been respectful. She has never taken on the role of an M.D. Part of her job is to screen the calls and she does it exceptionally well. In closing, I would caution people to read reviews with a degree of scrutiny. If a person writes a review that contains profanity and outright malice, one would be wise to disregard the review.

horrible staff that I talked to. She needs to get some phone manners! also the staffs need to know the policy of changing the doctors. My daughters doctor moved and I wanted an appointment with the new doctor but one staff told me to call my insurance and get some ref# and persons name I talked to. so i did and called back and this other rude woman said I did not need any such #s or names. what a waste of time!

I give this business two stars, because of overall negligent attitude towards what they do. Doctors are OK: they seem to do their duty when you finally got through to them. However, thats where the good things end. If you have any emergency, their responsiveness is poor. They dont care if you miss your monthly appointment - its your business not theirs. If you are pediatrician, you should be proactive.

All three of my children are cared for by Dr. Martha McCarty. She is wonderful, very knowledgeable, informative and compassionate. As a health care professional myself, I am impressed at her use of current evidence to support her practice choices and her ability to communicate with parents and children. I highly recommend Alewife Pediatrics.

Dr. Colpoys is great. Staff seems fine, but policies and procedures are difficult and behind the times. They would not accept a BLANK emailed form for them to fill out via email. They asked that I FAX(!!??)) it to them. Its like the DMV, but more expensive. Jan 2017 Update - Dr Colpoys has left this practice. We went with her.

Awful staff who treat you like idiots and never let you bring in your kid when they are SICK. They did rather you go to the Emergency Care, and pay more. I am starting to think that is another revenue stream for them. We are leaving this and going to a different practice.

I went here as a child and my health is permanently impacted by the injuries and illnesses that this practice overlooked or dismissed as the complaints of a whiny child.
