The Boston Red Dog is the worst boarding facility I have ever taken my dog to. First, the website makes it seem like the boarding will include nice accommodations. WRONG. They put the dogs in KENNELS. For their prices I could almost get him a hotel room. Not only do they put the dogs in kennels, I am not entirely convinced that they let the dogs out of the kennels. My dog always comes back from a kennel tired and happy! When he got home from Red Dog he was bouncing off the walls like he was just let out of a cage (literally, he was) and his voice was GONE. Everytime he tries to bark only a squeak comes out and you can see he is in pain. When I called the red dog for an explanation they said "well he was in a kennel, so everytime someone walks by he was barking. OBVIOUSLY he was barking! He has never been locked in a cage before!! and had I known it was cages I would not have boarded him there!! This place is awful and I will never ever bring my dog back. I would suggest that if youre looking for a boarding facility for your dog you find another one in the boston area.

So I recently moved to Boston from New York. I was looking for a new doggy day camp/Boarding place for my Beagle Baxter. After calling around to a few different places, I happened upon Boston Red Dog and Im thrilled I did. A few other places wanted me to come in for a dog evaluation for Day camp (Pretty standard) but they would only make appointments during the week and in the middle of the day, also they wanted me to come in for multiple "Evaluations", which is difficult with a 9-5. Anyway, I called Boston Red Dog, they said Baxter could come in on Saturday morning for his evaluation, only had me take a few min to fill out some general paperwork and took Bax off to play. When I picked him up the next day (I boarded him overnight as well) he had clearly had a good time because he was WIPED OUT. On top of that the facilities are gorgeous, everything looks new and well maintained. They have a mini dog pool inside and everything. The staff is courteous and extremely helpful. Answered all of my questions. Needless to say Ill be using Boston Red Dog from here on.

Our is a very shy, skittish Humane Society dog. It has been difficult at times to find a place where she is comfortable to stay when we head out of town for a few days. We gave Red Dog a try after reading some good reviews on their website. Well, they were correct. From the time we entered the door, the staff was gentle and encouraging with our shy girl, and she quickly went from tail-tucked to at ease with a treat or two. We didnt opt for any of the special services, as all we were interested in was a safe, comfortable place. She got that AND the attention of a devoted, pet-loving staff. When we picked her up, she was calm and well-cared for... and as a result, we were satisfied and sold on the boarding experience at Red Dog. Weve since used them again, with the same positive, customer - and dog - friendly service experienced. Give them a try! I think youll be pleased.

We have been going to Red Dog for about a year now. We take our dog at least twice a week for daycare and hes stayed for boarding too. The staff are so friendly and great with the dogs. They always update you if anything happened during the day so you know your dog is being watched. They are a bit pricey but from personal experience, its totally worth it. Weve gone to two other day cares that were both awful. One put the dogs in crates for most of the day and took them out for a couple play sessions during the day and when you asked them questions no one seemed to have a clue what your dog was doing during the day (what the heck are you paying for). The other let my dog eat a rope toy because he wasnt being watched and my dog got very sick (thankfully didnt need surgery). So its well worth paying a little extra to know your loved one is safe and well cared! Thank you Red Dog!

Boston Red Dog cares for your pet like none other. I have been bringing my aussie and yorkipoo here since I moved to Boston and wouldnt trust my dogs with anyone else. My dog walker, who also has a very high standard of care, swears by Red Dog. I have taken my dogs to other high-end boarding facilities in the past, but when they walk into Red Dog they are so happy to be there. The staff take great care in watching over your pets. When I was away on a business trip, my aussie had an allergic reaction to something (to no fault of Red Dog - she gets into absolutely everything!). The staff noticed right away, called me and rushed the dog to the vet. They updated my hourly on her condition and put her on medicine and special food as prescribed. Knowing that my dog is being watched over while Im gone puts my mind to ease. Thank you Red Dog!

My dog, Dexter, LOVES Boston Red Dog. I have taken him to daycare here nearly every weekday for the past 4 months. Once we pull into the parking lot, he gets so excited and can’t wait to get inside to play. The receptionists know both myself and Dexter. He greets them each morning and they are always happy to see him (and every other client) as well. I also use Red Dog for boarding when I need to travel and have Iet Dexter swim a few times. I have had positive experiences with every service I have used here (including the Skipton Pet Store inside and the attached veterinarian office). I feel 100% comfortable and good about bringing my Dexter here. I know he’s safe, secure and having a great time. It may not be the cheapest doggie daycare; however, I strongly believe it’s the best and worth every penny.

I have two dogs, one old one young. The older dog is about 17, and he is blind. He is difficult to handle and prefers just to be left alone. The younger dog is easy, and goes along for the ride. Because of the older dogs needs, I felt a seasonal suite was best, so he could have a room to himself (with the younger dog) and just eat and sleep for his 4-night stay. Upon return I was informed the dogs had adapted and ultimately enjoyed their stay at Red Dog. I dont normally trust my dogs to others because the older one is so difficult to handle. Even his vet says this, so I am not exaggerating. But after my experience with Red Dog, and the great experience I and my dogs had with them, I will surely be using their services again (I am traveling soon, and the dogs will stay at Red Dog).

We started using Red Dog a few months ago for our chocolate lab puppy. He is full of energy, and since my husband and I work full time, twice daily dog walks from our dog walker often arent enough to tire out our pup. When we bring him to Red Dog for daycare, we know he has an absolute blast and comes home tired, which is the best part! He now gets so excited when we pull in to the lot. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and one of my favorite features is that you dont need to call ahead and schedule day care. You simply go that day and drop him off. We have also used Red Dog for boarding and have had no issues there as well, its right within the price range of other boarding options nearby, and we have the utmost confidence in the Red Dog staff and facility. Would definitely recommend!
