It should be mentioned that veterinarian Dr. John Sykes is on stayed suspension by the veterinary licensing board. I took my new kitten to this vet because its the closest vet clinic to my home, and made the big mistake of not looking at the Yelp reviews first. The clinic is on a sketchy industrial road with only a few parallel parking spaces out front (which I couldnt park in due to construction signs). The sign out front is faded to the point that I had to drive by again in order to find it. Walking in, the waiting room seems to be in need of a thorough scrubbing. The walls of the exam rooms are paper thin - do expect for your entire examination to be heard by people in the lobby. Dr. Sykes, frankly, was a total jerk to me. He walked in without introducing himself and was wearing regular clothes - I didnt even know I was talking to the vet (I thought he might be a vet tech). He was condescending and made me feel like an idiot. The whole examination was so off-putting that I googled his name when I got home - thats when the articles about his suspension and DUIs showed up. He diagnosed my kitten with an ear infection. I didnt trust him by this point so I took my kitten elsewhere for a second opinion. The second vet ended up changing the treatment. Their services are cheap, I give them that, but this place gives me a bad feeling. I will never go back and would not recommend this vet to anyone.

MY CAT I FOUND OUTSIDE, HE WAS BADLY ABUSED. I TOOK HIM TO 4 OTHER VETS B4 FINDING THIS PLACE. SPANKY LOVES THEM. THEY R LOW COST. THEY ARE TRULY THE BEST. NOW THAT I MOVED,TO SOMERVILLE I STILL MAKE THE COMMUTE TO SEE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY PLACE THAT BOTH SPANKY AND I TRUST THE ONLY WAY I WILL STOP GOING THERE IS IF IT CLOSES.

They are the nicest and most honest vet Ive been to and Ive been to Waltham, Brookline VCA, Melrose, Newton and Lynn. The prices for routine care are lower than any vet Ive gone with and they work with "Friends of Animals" that gives discounts on spay/neuter costs! Love this place ❤️
