Fantastic, as always! Mary & Michelle are the 2 nicest people Ive met in any retail setting. They are very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful, but also happy to let you browse interrupted. The selection of designer and high-end frames is impressive; however choices are plentiful. [The decor is fantastic, as is the exam space downstairs; dont be intimidated - it feels like a cozy apartment when you walk in!] Frankly my favorite part of going to SEE is that they find me great glasses and make me feel special wearing them! They do this by listening first and then, as appropriate, start offering up opinions and options. Their no-nonsense, headache-preventing explanations of the insurance systems is a welcome bonus. Despite stocking newer brands and mostly higher end glasses, they both 1) never give up on timeless styles and reliable manufacturers, and 2) dont ever sell any crap -- even the lower priced glasses are great. Their honesty about sourcing, pricing, and alternatives allows you to make this a one-stop [comfortable] shop. Dr. Laura is great! Shes very personable, smart, and she listens. Her exams are very chill and completely pain-free. I especially enjoy how she explains what shes doing (if youd like).

I first went to South End Eye a few years ago after I felt like I didnt get the care I deserved from Cambridge Eye Doctors. It had been recommended to me with glowing reviews, so I went in with high expectations. At my appointment, Dr. Martin was kind, professional, and took the time to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the care that she provided. I felt like she genuinely cared. The two other ladies, who helped me schedule my appointment and assisted me while I was considering new frames, were delightful. I felt absolutely no pressure to buy anything and was comfortable talking with them as well. Since that day I have had my annual appointments with Dr. Martin and shes been just as caring and attentive each time. My experiences with South End Eye have been very pleasant and I highly recommend that you make your next eye appointment here.

I am new to needing more than an occasional set of "readers"-- my first stops were a huge opthalmolic center - Basically a factory. Then I went to a discount place for glasses (sticker shock as a new prescription eye glass wearer) then I could not figure out how to use my glasses - went to South End Eye. Dr Martin re- jiggered my prescription; I learned progressive lenses have to fit properly And then they guided me through a purchase of very flattering glasses. 12 months later I am ably wearing contacts for sports after careful, patient coaching. What a great place.

Professional, very very thorough, and an amazing experience all around. I had explained my last eye care provider wasnt so....thorough (my old provider mis-aligned my progressives, always had to look at things with a head tilt) South End Eye definitely came through with an amazing pair of glasses! I was also very pleased that they were very accommodating in filling a script for glasses I already owned. (although they have an amazing selection there already) I would highly recommend to anyone. Thanks again!!

Five stars is not enough! I fly into Boston from N.C. every month. A few months a year, I have an appointment to order or pick up glasses or contacts. Recently, on a quick trip to Boston, I was out of contacts and let South End Eye know. Immediate response was swing by for some samples, and we will check on your order. Order was shipped, and found by Owner Mary Keenan. I wouldnt have made it through trip without contacts and updated shipment. Love Mary, her staff and my special treatment!

I would recommend South End Eye for eye exams, contacts and a great selection of frames. They custom make frames to fit your face! I have had a great experience with learning to use contact lenses. Dr Laura is professional and patient. I did not have an easy time getting used to the contacts, she was very helpful with tips and a few follow up visits. I have also been impressed with the quick turn around in replacing the lenses in some older almost vintage sunglasses.

My wife and I have purchased several pair of glasses at the shop. We always appreciate the advice and professional guidance we receive. All the staff are top notch and helpful. Also, not too long ago that little nose piece fell off one of my older pair of glasses. I took them in (without an appointment) and while I sat and waited my eye glasses were fixed, cleaned and returned to me in perfect condition. Service is always friendly and professional.

Such an amazing place! Wish I could put down ten stars! Fixed two pairs of my prescription glasses made from another place. One has problems with the frame. The other has problems with the lenses. I have been suffering through them for years and the other place never solves the problems. I am so impressed that the lady at South End Eye (so sad I forget her name) figured out the problems, explained to me clearly and fixed them.

Just got back from a contact fitting there- as all the other reviews say, great service. They had a ton of appointments available during lunch hour, which is very convenient if you work in the area. Had a hiccup with my insurance coverage but they were very accomodating in helping me to figure it out. Dr. Martins takes the time to (actually) listen to you and was very personable. Highly reccommend.

I have been a client of South End Eye for many years now. They offer everything I need from my eye exam to my contacts to my collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses. Just recently the arm of my favorite glasses broke, not just a lost screw, but broken! They were able to get a new arm from the manufacture and I still have my favorite glasses. Hows that for fabulous customer service!!!

I was recommended, by spectacle eye wear, I walked in and asked if they could give me an eye exam without an appointment, there was availability and I got my exam vai a walk-in. They were very thorough, helpful, knowledgeable and professional, plus it didnt take very long to get my eyes examined also had my eyes dilated (optional). I would highly recommend South End Eye.

Unparalleled service. I bought a pair of glasses that had an unusual design I thought would work for me. It didnt. The fit just wasnt right. I returned the glasses for a full refund. I couldnt find frames at the store that fit my needs, so Mary Keenan offered to give me free lenses if I purchased the frames I like online. Now thats good service!
