I had been to Urban Eye MD for a year when my employer changed our insurance provider. Before scheduling my appointment, I verified that Urban Eye accepted my new provider both on the phone and online (they advertised that they supported my insurance provider EyeMed Vision). When I went for my appointment it was like I was a completely new patient, I was handed a clipboard, told to fill out my information even though I had been before and was treated by a completely new doctor. At the close of my appointment, I approached the front desk to pay my co-pay and was told there was none. This was very strange as I always had paid a $60 co-pay for my contact lens fitting. After my appointment, I called the front desk again to verify that I didnt have a bill and offered my insurance information again. I was told again that there was no co-pay. I then received a $400 bill in the mail. To add insult to injury my address was incorrect and my name was misspelled. I called the office again to ask why I received a bill this high and they said it was because they did not have any insurance information on file. I offered my insurance information for the third time and was told rudely that the front desk "had a million things to attend to and they would get to it when they get to it." I was assured a call back at 1 PM. I received no call. At 1 PM I called again and was greeted by the individual responsible for billing. For the fourth time he asked me for my insurance information. He then told me he was "locked out" of the EyeMed system and would have to call me back, I finally received a call back a few hours later but missed the call. I promptly returned the call, was left on hold for 45 minutes and then hung up on. I called back again and a woman answered the phone. When I explained my situation, she very rudely declared: "I dont know why you are calling here - did you even think to call your insurance provider and ask them?" At this point, I was shocked and replied that I was calling because they were the ones who assured me that I was covered. I then offered her my insurance information for the fifth time. I was put back through to the individual responsible for billing who was rude and accusatory and kept claiming that this was my fault and that he had 20 years in the medical billing industry. I have been to many clinics and have never been so rudely treated. I very much enjoyed the doctors but the front desk staff and billing department is a complete disaster and it is a shame. I strongly caution anyone against going to this clinic - it has been a $400 mistake for me.

I was told on FOUR separate occasions by the front desk that my contact lens exam would be $80. I repeatedly asked "This contact lens exam is $80, correct?" and every time, he says yes. I show up the day of my appointment, front desk is super inattentive. Im then told that my eye exam would be $230, and THEN am told by the ophthalmologist I was booked for something completely different....... ended up having to leave because he scheduled me wrong. really disappointed. edit: To make it better, I was sent a bill in the mail for an exam I never even received.

Perhaps the eye doctors are ok,,,but stay away from the opticians here...everything takes at least four visits to get right.......from new lenses to completely new glasses.and on top of that they try to make you feel bad for being there..one optician said to me,"it would be better for me if you came back in a few days"...what service...............today i was there for my fourth set of lenses..which keep on cracking because they tighten the frames too much.......and every one waiting had a horror story.

Excellent customer service, Good doctors... Dr. Mahamed spend good quality time explaining the importance in getting an eye exam every year. Eyes are really delicate. I got my contacts like in 2 days and my glasses in 3-4 days. GREAT I highly recommend this Office. They have new staff with great customer service and thats what we look for. Give them a call.

Sorry to say that the front desk lady today (6/14/17) at 4:00pm hung up on me. You need a front desk person who is a normal human being with normal people-skills and who is polite. This was unacceptable and I hope the doctors there are better people than this lady.
